At least ten people were killed on the&nbsp;Israeli-occupied Golan Heights on Saturday (Jul 27) after the town of&nbsp;Majdal Shams was hit by a barrage of rockets fired from Lebanon, reported news agency AFP.

Eli Bin, head of the Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency service, earlier reported that&nbsp;nine people had been killed and 34 wounded including 17 in critical condition.

Earlier, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said approximately 30 projectiles were fired from Lebanon.&nbsp;“A short while ago, sirens sounded in the area of Majdal Shams. One projectile was identified crossing from Lebanon toward the area. A hit was identified in the area. Injuries were reported,” the IDF said.

It was not immediately clear who fired the projectiles, with Lebanon-based militant group Hezbollah firmly denying its involvement.

“The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon firmly denies the allegations made by some enemy media outlets and various media platforms regarding the targeting of Majdal Shams,” it said in a Telegram channel on Saturday.

The IDF on the other hand, blamed Hezbollah for the attack.

"The Hezbollah terrorist organisation is behind the rocket launch at a soccer field in Majdal Shams," the Israeli army said in a statement.

Meanwhile, local police said&nbsp;munitions have fallen in “multiple sites in the northern Golan.”

Dewa said they&nbsp;were only pursuing minor criminal cases for repeat offenders because they wanted to give dog meat sellers a chance to overhaul their businesses.

"We won't suddenly take legal action, but we are giving them the chance to know the ban and why it was banned," said Dewa.

"But we will process recurrent&nbsp;(sellers) for deterrent effect. We’re not playing around,” he added.&nbsp;

The dog meat scandal first broke out in 2016 and since then, there have been calls to ban its sale and consumption on the tourist island. While the ban has been implemented in Bali, albeit loosely, the rest of the country has yet to follow suit.&nbsp;

Indonesia is the world's most populous Muslim country and Islam considers eating dog products as haram, or forbidden. Yet, as much as seven per cent of Indonesians eat dog and cat meat, according to&nbsp;&nbsp;Meat Free Indonesia.

The practice of eating dog meat is popular in North Sulawesi, North Sumatra, and East Nusa Tenggara provinces, where most of the population identifies as Christian.

Earlier this year, South Korea passed a landmark bill that bans the&nbsp;centuries-old controversial practice of eating and selling dog meat across the country.

Taking a further dig&nbsp;at Wray Trump wrote, “FBI Director Christopher Wray told Congress yesterday that he wasn’t sure if I was hit by shrapnel, glass, or a bullet (the FBI never even checked!), but he was sure that Crooked Joe Biden was physically and cognitively ‘uneventful’ – Wrong!”.

However, Trump also posted a letter from his former White House doctor saying the wound was almost certainly due to a bullet.

Donald Trump's vice-presidential candidate, JD Vance, has defended his previously resurfaced remark, where he referred to Democratic politicians as a "bunch of childless cat ladies with miserable lives".

Vance’s remark, made in 2021, has been criticised, with Hollywood actress Jennifer Aniston among those to have hit out at the Republican.

"Apparently it was a sarcastic comment. People are focusing so much on the sarcasm and not on the substance of what I actually said," Vance explained to Megyn Kelly, conservative media personality on Friday (July 26).

"The remark was about criticising the Democratic Party for becoming anti-family and anti-children," he explained at The Megyn Kelly Show.

"I was trying to say that having children, whether as a father or a mother, is a life-changing event that significantly shapes your worldview in a pretty profound way. I'm simply trying to make an argument that our entire society has become skeptical and even hateful towards the idea of having kids," he explained.

It may be recalled here, in the original interview, he questioned why some leading politicians did not have children, mentioning Kamala Harris, the Democratic nominee for November's election, who is stepmother to her husband Doug Emhoff’s two children.
