The study surveyed 500 digital content creators with more than 1,000 followers from 45 countries and territories in August and September 2024.

As per the study, 62 per cent of those surveyed admitted that they do not check the accuracy of the content before sharing it. Nearly one-third of influencers said if the information originates from a trusted source, they share it without checking whether it is correct or not. Only 37 per cent of them said they verified the information with a fact-checking site before sharing it on their accounts.

However, only 12 per cent of them said their content was about "current affairs/politics and the economy". Despite the low number, UNESCO warned that “the low prevalence of fact-checking highlights their vulnerability to misinformation, which can have far-reaching consequences for public discourse and trust in media.”

An independent inquiry on the Oct 7 massacre in Israel carried out by Hamas has noted that the attack was made possible by&nbsp;“arrogant” groupthink led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The commission was founded by survivors and relatives of Israelis who were killed and kidnapped on the tragic day.

The 70-page report and 10-page “executive briefing” by the Civil Commission of Inquiry of the Oct 7 Disaster, talks of failures at every step of the administration, from the very top and reaching deep into the security establishment.

The report blames Netanyahu and top military commanders for exposing Israel to the invasion through years of faulty decisions. It states that voices critical of the government were stifled and it wrongly believed that money could keep Hamas quiet.&nbsp;

“Netanyahu is responsible for undermining all decision-making hubs,” the report said.&nbsp;

It questions the policy of giving funds to Hamas which helped the terrorist group create a strong base in Hamas in the decade before the attack.

Seven passengers remain unaccounted for after the boat left the Egyptian port of Marsa Alam on Monday.

Ukraine's delegation to a conference on progress under the anti-landmine treaty in Cambodia on Tuesday did not mention the US offer in its remarks.&nbsp;

In its presentation, Ukrainian defence official Oleksandr Riabtsev said Russia was carrying out "genocidal activities" by laying landmines on its territory.

Riabtsev refused to comment when asked by AFP journalists about the US landmines offer on Wednesday.

Ukraine's commitment to destroy its landmine stockpiles left over from the Soviet Union was also "currently not possible" due to Russia's invasion, defence ministry official Yevhenii Kivshyk told the conference.

In his address, Netanyahu also said he would&nbsp;present the ceasefire accord to his full cabinet later in the evening.&nbsp;

The ceasefire agreement would put an end to the months-long conflict which has reportedly killed thousands across Lebanon. However, the Israeli PM also warned that Israel would "respond forcefully to any violation" by Hezbollah.

Earlier, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said the ceasefire deal being finalised between Israel and Lebanon will boost efforts to secure an end to the war in Gaza.

“We were looking for the bed of the ice,” Gardner said, “and out pops Camp Century.”

Camp Century was built by the US Army Corps of Engineers within the Greenland Ice Sheet. It didn't remain in service for long and was decommissioned after just eight years. Since abandoned beneath Greenland’s ice sheet, Camp Century is like a ghost from the past.

This "city under the ice" consists of a network of tunnels. The Cold War relic now lies nearly 100 feet under snow and ice which has been accumulating since the base was decommissioned.

Several aircraft had caught hints of a structure under the ice in Greenland in the past as well. Using ground-penetrating radar, they detected hints of something lurking underground. However, nothing was ever confirmed.

But the NASA team had access to improved technology. The space agency’s Uninhabited Aerial Vehicle Synthetic Aperture Radar (UAVSAR), a radar system mounted under the aircraft offered enhanced radar imaging capabilities.

Greene said the data showed it in a way that had never happened before. “In the new data, individual structures in the secret city are visible in a way that they’ve never been seen before," he said.

The team at JPL successfully corroborated their radar images with historical maps, confirming the presence of Camp Century and its several tunnels and other features.

Japan's space ageny&nbsp;halted the Epsilon S rocket's engine combustion test after a fire broke out at the test site on Tuesday (Nov 26).

No injuries were reported in the explosion at the time of writing this.

The fire broke out at the Tanegashima Space Centre&nbsp;in the remote Kagoshima region of southwestern Japan and in the footage, flames were seen erupting after the test started, which was followed by a massive explosion.

The fire erupted when a solid-fuel Epsilon S rocket was being tested at the Japan space agency.

White fumes and balls of fire were seen rising from the Tanegashima Space Centre, in the footage of national broadcaster NHK.

"There was an abnormality during today's combustion test. We are trying to assess what happened," said the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) in a statement, while speaking to AFP news agency.

"Dismissal without prejudice is appropriate here," Chutkan said. She mentioned that "the immunity afforded to a sitting president is temporary, expiring when they leave office."

Trump's lawyers did not oppose the motion to dismiss the case without prejudice.

"That prohibition is categorical and does not turn on the gravity of the crimes charged, the strength of the Government's proof, or the merits of the prosecution, which the Government stands fully behind," Smith stated in his motion to dismiss.

Trump was accused of conspiring to overturn the results of the 2020 election after Joe Biden was declared the winner. His other legal hassle involved the allegation that he took with him several top-secret documents after leaving the White House.&nbsp;
