Libya's Tripoli airport resumes air traffic after air strike kills over 40

Libyancapital Tripoli's Mitiga airport resumed its air traffic on Wednesday after being halted earlier following an air strike.
A spokesman for eastern-based Libyan National Army commanded by Libyan strongman Khalifa Haftar said earlier that air forces had destroyed the main control room for drones at the military section of the airport.
Nearly 40 migrants were killed and 70 were wounded in an airstrike on Tuesday night on their detention centre in a Tripoli suburb.
No one has so far claimed responsibility for the attack.
Meanwhile, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres had called for an independent investigation of the circumstances of this incident, to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice.

The Tripoli government has blamed Haftar for the attack on the detention centre.
UN envoy Ghassan Salame separately also called for an independent investigation and warned that the attack may constitute a war crime.
