Venezuela is facing its most significant humanitarian emergency in over a century following back-to-back earthquakes that struck north-central regions on June 24, 2026. The twin quakes, a magnitude 7.2 foreshock followed 39 seconds later by a powerful magnitude 7.5 mainshock, have left a path of destruction across the country, with the coastal state of La Guaira emerging as the epicenter of the tragedy.
