R Ashwin Ruled Out of BBL 2025-26 Due to Knee Injury

Veteran Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has been ruled out of the Big Bash League 2025‑26 after a knee injury required surgery, as confirmed by Sydney Thunder. Ashwin had signed for a full‑season deal and was set to make history as one of the few Indian cricketers in the BBL, but the injury sustained during training in Chennai turned his plans upside‑down. He expressed his disappointment, saying he was “gutted” to miss the season and will focus on rehabilitation and recovery with hopes of returning stronger.
