The US state of Georgia said on Thursday (Oct 31) that there was "targeted disinformation" circulating online about the November 5 presidential election in the country that was likely a result of "foreign interference attempting to sow discord and chaos.

The US state of Georgia said on Thursday (Oct 31) that there was "targeted disinformation" circulating online about the November 5 presidential election in the country that was likely a result of "foreign interference attempting to sow discord and chaos." In a statement, Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger's office said, "Earlier today, our office became aware of a video purporting to show a Haitian immigrant with multiple Georgia IDs claiming to have voted multiple times." Georgia alleges Russian interference Raffensperger's office said this was an example of targeted disinformation that the US has seen in this and other elections. "We are working to combat this and identify the origin of it with our state and federal partners. CISA [Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency] is currently investigating," the statement added. The office urged X owner Elon Musk and the leadership of other social media platforms to take such details down. "As Americans, we can’t let our enemies use lies to divide us and undermine our faith in our institutions - or each other," the office added. 'Election in Georgia is secure' The remarks from Raffensperger's office came a day after Georgia officials said that the election process in the swing state was secure, dismissing “crazy” online conspiracy theories. Early voting happened in Georgia and officials say more than three million people have already gone to the polls, substantially outstripping turnout at a similar stage in previous elections, according to a report by the news agency Reuters. Trump stokes migration fears in Nevada, says US is 'occupied'

A recent poll by Forbes released on Thursday (October 31) shows Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris having a "razor-thin one-point edge" over the Republican nominee Donald Trump.&nbsp;

The new national HarrisX/Forbes poll marked a statistically tied race just a week before the election of November 5, but here is the plot; one in 10 voters could change their mind at the last moment.&nbsp;

The poll showed Harris leading Trump with 48-49 per cent votes.&nbsp;

The poll was similar to Forbes' survey a week ago that found Trump with a 49-48 per cent lead including “leaners.”&nbsp;

The poll also showed the vice president leading with 49-48 per cent votes across the seven battleground states that are likely to determine the winner.

Around 10 per cent of potential voters and 16 per cent of registered voters are still weighing their choices, which simply means the results could be anything.&nbsp;

<h2>'Deceptive doctoring' of Harris' '60 Minutes' interview</h2>

The Forbes poll came the same day Trump sued CBS News for $10 billion over an interview of Harris aired on the agency's "60 Minutes" news program in early October that the lawsuit alleged was misleading.

The complaint alleged the network aired two different responses from Harris&nbsp;to a question about the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.

Trump has repeatedly assailed the network on the campaign trail over the episode and has threatened to revoke CBS's broadcasting license if elected. CBS has said Trump backed out of his own planned interview with "60 Minutes."

The version that aired during the "60 Minutes" program on Oct. 6 did not include what the lawsuit calls a "word salad" response from Harris about the Biden administration's influence on Israel's conduct of the war.

"Former President Trump’s repeated claims against 60 Minutes are false," a CBS News spokesperson said. "The lawsuit Trump has brought today against CBS is completely without merit and we will vigorously defend against it."

US Presidential Election 2024: Forbes poll shows Harris NARROWLY leading Trump

The US is all set for its next presidential election on November 5. And there's a great anxiety among voters and the rest of the world regarding who will win.&nbsp;
&nbsp;
But there is another important question, what will Trump's supporters do if Kamala Harris wins this race for the White House?

The Republican nominee has said, multiple times, that the only way he can lose this election is by fraud by the Democrats.&nbsp;

The former president is prepared to question Harris' victory in the polls (If she wins).&nbsp;

While Trump's supporters are&nbsp;planning to overturn Harris' potential victory saying they are certain that "if this election will be fair," nobody can stop Trump from reentering the White House.&nbsp;

"Make America Great Again" (MAGA), a slogan of Trump's election campaign and a political movement in his support, is ready with ways to undermine a potential victory for the vice president.&nbsp;

"January 6 will be pretty fun," the MAGA activists said while talking to CNN, indicating that if (by any chance) Harris wins this election, there will be violence on January 6, 2025.&nbsp;

The MAGA world, not general followers of Trump but also influential names, is laying a "step-by-step" plan and preparing its followers for a "stolen election."&nbsp;

The movement includes Ivan Raiklin, who played the most significant part in Trump calling the 2020 US presidential election "cheating and fraud." Rocklin, who calls himself "Trump's Secretary of Retribution," recently said that he had prepared a "target list" of more than 350 people he will go after in Donald Trump's second term in the White House.

The MAGA world's mission to overturn Harris' potential win also included Michael Flynn, the former president's national security advisor.&nbsp;

Flynn, earlier this year, acknowledged that there was no evidence to support a key part of some election fraud claims of 2020. But, just a month later, he changed his statement saying the 2020 election was certainly "filled with fraud."

Doug Emhoff, an attorney based in Los Angeles and the second-gentleman of the United States, began to date Kamala Harris, the 49th Vice President of the country, in 2013. After almost a year of being together, Douglas proposed to Harris in March 2014 during a trip to Florence, Italy. Harris agreed, and a wedding on August 22, 2014, blended Indian and Jewish traditions. Emhoff is the first Second Gentleman of the United States and the first Jewish spouse of a vice president.

<h2>Who Is Doug Emhoff's Ex-Wife?</h2>

This was Emhoff's second marriage to Harris. He was earlier married to Kerstin, with whom he had two children, Cole and Ella.

Emhoff and Kerstin got married in 1992 and divorced 17 years later in 2010. The split happened due to Emhoff's extramarital affair with a teacher at his children’s school, according to People. However, they worked through things after divorce and now share a healthy relationship. Almost two years after their marriage, Kerstin gave birth to their first child, son Cole, on Sept. 15, 1994. Five years later, on May 29, 1999, their daughter, Ella, was born.

Kerstin did her graduation from Boston University in 1990 in film, cinema and video studies. In 2007, she founded a production company by the name Prettybird that specialised in branded and music content.

The production company has worked on a number of notable projects, including Beyoncé’s 2016 “Formation” music video.

<h2>Family Dynamics</h2>

Douglas has always wanted both his children and their mother to embrace their blended family with warmth and love. Harris too took things slowly and the children have now become fond of her, whom they lovingly refer to as "Momala," which showcases the love and understanding between them.

"My children don’t call me stepmom, they call me Momala,” Harris told PEOPLE in an interview in August 2020. “We’re a very modern family. Their mom is a close friend of mine,' Harris added.

US election 2024: Who is ex-wife of Kamala Harris' husband Dough Emhoff? All about....

ABC affiliate WNEP-TV 'accidentally' aired the US election results, just a week before the election, showing Democrat presidential nominee Kamala Harris winning Pennsylvania.&nbsp;

The graphic by the US news agency on Sunday (Oct 27) showed Harris winning the state with 52% of votes while the Republican nominee Donald Trump gained 47% of the votes.&nbsp;

The graphic suddenly popped up during the channel's coverage of the Formula 1 Mexico Grand Prix, and now has sparked online conspiracy theories and criticism of the network.&nbsp;

WNEP-TV later clarified that the numbers were generated "randomly" while testing the equipment and that they were not based on any actual votes.&nbsp;

“Those numbers should not have appeared on the screen, and it was an error by WNEP that they did,” the broadcast station reportedly told Daily Mail about the ‘glitch.’&nbsp;

<h2>&nbsp;'Tremendous pressure'</h2>

A somewhat similar incident was occurred during the 2020 US presidential elections and in the year 2000 as well by American news platforms.

On November 3, 2020, just a few hours after the polls closed, America's most popular conservative channel Fox News struck a body blow to Trump's chances by calling Arizona for Biden.&nbsp;

The announcement, confirmed several days later by other media, infuriated the Trump camp.&nbsp;

"The stakes are very high... there is tremendous pressure to capture viewers by giving them information as quickly as it is available, but the greatest risk is sacrificing accuracy for speed," said Costas Panagopoulos, a political science professor at Northeastern University and former member of the NBC decision desk.

Maybe most notorious was the U-turn networks made in 2000 after Florida was prematurely called for Democratic contender Al Gore.&nbsp;

To avoid a repeat of the credibility-damaging episode, media are relying on more advanced analytics that will use not just exit polls but also surveys of early voters.&nbsp;

ABC News 'accidently' airs 'random' US election results showing Harris winning Pennsylvania

US Presidential candidate Kamala Harris has found support from an unlikely person. The US Vice-President has got endorsement from none other than Arnold Schwarzenegger. The Hollywood superstar is a Republican and has served as the 38th governor of California from 2003 to 2011.

“I don't really do endorsements. I’m not shy about sharing my views, but I hate politics and don’t trust most politicians.I also understand that people want to hear from me because I am not just a celebrity, I am a former Republican Governor,” wrote Schwarzenegger in a social media post on Wednesday.&nbsp;

He wrote further, “My time as Governor taught me to love policy and ignore politics. I’m proud of the work I did to help clean up our air, create jobs, balance the budget, make the biggest infrastructure investment in state history, and take power from the politicians and give it back to the people when it comes to our redistricting process and our primaries in California.

"That’s policy. It requires working with the other side, not insulting them, to win your next election, and I know it isn’t sexy to most people, but I love it when I can help make people’s lives better with policies, like I still do through my institute at USC, where we fight for clean air and stripping the power from the politicians who rig the system against the people.”

The actor further admitted he hates politics and would want to tune out but cannot as much as he wished to.

“I will always be an American before I am a Republican. That’s why, this week, I am voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz,” wrote Schwarzenegger. “I’m sharing it with all of you because I think there are a lot of you who feel like I do. You don’t recognise our country. And you are right to be furious. For decades, we’ve talked about the national debt. For decades, we’ve talked about comprehensive immigration reform that secures the border while fixing our broken immigration system. And Washington does nothing."

Donald Trump and Kamala Harris are contesting for the US Presidential elections which will take place on November 5.&nbsp;

Schwarzenegger also took digs at Trump’s behaviour and his role in inciting the January 6 insurrection.

“But a candidate who won’t respect your vote unless it is for him, a candidate who will send his followers to storm the Capitol while he watches with a Diet Coke, a candidate who has shown no ability to work to pass any policy besides a tax cut that helped his donors and other rich people like me but helped no one else, a candidate who thinks Americans who disagree with him are the bigger enemies than China, Russia, or North Korea - that won’t solve our problems,” wrote the superstar.

"I know that former President Trump won’t do that. He will divide, he will insult, he will find new ways to be more un-American than he already has been, and we, the people, will get nothing but more anger,” he wrote.“That’s enough reason for me to share my vote with all of you. I want to move forward as a country, and even though I have plenty of disagreements with their platform, I think the only way to do that is with Harris and Walz," the Terminator star further wrote.&nbsp;

I’m proud of the work I did to help clean up our air, create jobs, balance the budget, make the biggest infrastructure investment in state history, and take power from the politicians and give it back to the people when it comes to our redistricting process and our primaries in California. "That’s policy. It requires working with the other side, not insulting them, to win your next election, and I know it isn’t sexy to most people, but I love it when I can help make people’s lives better with policies, like I still do through my institute at USC, where we fight for clean air and stripping the power from the politicians who rig the system against the people.” The actor further admitted he hates politics and would want to tune out but cannot as much as he wished to. And Washington does nothing." Donald Trump and Kamala Harris are contesting for the US Presidential elections which will take place on November 5. I don’t really do endorsements. I’m not shy about sharing my views, but I hate politics and don’t trust most politicians. I also understand that people want to hear from me because I am not just a celebrity, I am a former Republican Governor. My time as Governor taught me to… — Arnold (@Schwarzenegger) October 30, 2024 × "I know that former President Trump won’t do that. He will divide, he will insult, he will find new ways to be more un-American than he already has been, and we, the people, will get nothing but more anger,” he wrote.“That’s enough reason for me to share my vote with all of you. I want to move forward as a country, and even though I have plenty of disagreements with their platform, I think the only way to do that is with Harris and Walz," the Terminator star further wrote.

A judge ordered all parties along with Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Thursday (Oct 31) to appear in a court hearing in Philadelphia in a lawsuit against a committee for US elections.&nbsp;

The lawsuit is to stop the committee, controlled by Musk, from awarding $1 million to registered US voters in Pennsylvania before the November 5 election. &nbsp;

The Philadelphia district attorney Larry Krasner, who is a Democrat, filed the case on Monday (Oct 28) calling the action by ṭhe America Pac an "illegal lottery."&nbsp;

Elon Musk to appear in Philadelphia court over lawsuit against his $1 million giveaway to voters

The Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris urged Americans to write the "next chapter" for their country and end the "drama and conflict" in her closing speech in Washington DC on Tuesday (Oct 29).&nbsp;

While addressing thousands of people present at The Ellipse, the place where the US Capitol riots of January 6 started, Harris warned the voters against Trump's "lust for unchecked power."

"It is time to turn the page on the drama and the conflict, the fear and division. It is time for a new generation of leadership in America," the Democrat said.&nbsp;

Explainer: How the Electoral Process Works in the United States

With a compelling track record of predicting the economy, Christophe Barraud has taken an interest in the upcoming 2024 US presidential elections. The top economist said in an interview that growth is expected to pick up pace after the election results are out. This is because companies will be able to make bigger decisions once they are certain about the changes likely to happen in the economy, leading to an increase in GDP of the country.

<h2>What Christophe Barraud predicts for US 2024 elections</h2>

Ranked as number one economist by Bloomberg, Barraud has forecast&nbsp;three possible outcomes of the US elections, according to Business Insider.

In the first scenario, if Vice President Kamala Harris wins the upcoming elections with a split in Congress, not much will change for the US economy. In this case, Barraud predicts things will remain the same.

In the second scenario, former president Donald Trump wins but Congress is divided, Trump will not be able to easily cut taxes for businesses and households. This will lead him to focus on foreign policies that will likely result in trade restrictions and tariffs being implemented. Outcome of this will not affect the US economy in the short term. However, it may affect the global economy, and may prove harmful for the US in the long run, according to Business Insider.

Barraud’s third and most likely scenario is predicted to be Trump wins with a Republican majority. In this case, Trump might cut taxes for companies and households and will likely focus more on domestic policies. This may leave a positive impact on the US economy in the short term, with an expected rise of 2.1 to 2.3 per cent in 2025.

However, Barraud highlights a concern that in case Trump is elected and implements tax cuts,&nbsp;it may result in revenue shortfalls. The 10-year Treasury bond may rise to at least 4.5 per cent from the current 4.23 per cent. If Trump doesn’t get a majority in Congress, the bond could increase to 4.35 per cent, while if he wins by majority, the bond may go as high as 5 per cent. This will happen as investors may seek a higher risk premium, especially if Trump toughens the immigration policy in a healthy job market that will result in more inflation.

Here's what world’s top economist predicts about US election result and its impact on economy

In the 2016 US presidential election, several factors contributed to Republican candidate Donald Trump's victory - his projection as an 'outsider' who was challenging the establishment, the Make-America-Great-Again (MAGA) slogan that resonated with nationalistic Americans, an increased voter turnout in favour of Republicans, and more.

But there was one factor that stuck out like a sore thumb for his Democratic challenger, Hilary Clinton. It was the Electoral College. Hilary Clinton had polled at least 2.8 million more popular votes, or the total number of votes, than Donald Trump, yet a controversial and much-debated American election system propelled the Republican candidate to victory, nevertheless. How did that happen? It is because of a unique but complicated electoral mechanism, which was initially introduced to balance the influence of states in selecting the next President of the United States. Thanks to a strategic campaign focused on critical swing states, Trump secured 304 electoral votes compared to Clinton's 227 and rode to power in 2016. What is the Electoral College? Unlike a physical college, the Electoral College in the United States refers to a group of electors who gather in their state's respective capitals to designate the winner after the end of the polling. Nearly a month after the November 4 polls, these electors cast their votes. This means - when US citizens vote on Election Day, they technically elect the electors who are affiliated with candidates of their respective parties in their state. The Electoral College consists of 538 electors and a majority of 270 electoral votes is required to elect the new president. Each state has a certain number of electors based on its representation - both in the House of Representatives and the Senate. Why was the Electoral College system introduced? The system was introduced to ensure that all states have a fair say in presidential elections, irrespective of their size and population. If popular votes disproportionately favour one candidate due to a large population in the state, the electoral college system kicks in to ensure a more balanced representation of the nationwide electorate's wishes. How does the Electoral College work? Most of the electors are party officials or leaders, but you won't see their names appear on the ballot. Each state gets a certain of electoral votes that reflect its total representation in Congress. This includes two senators, but the number of House representatives is based on the state's population as determined by the most recent census data. For all practical purposes, each state is allocated a minimum of three electoral votes — two for its senators and at least one for its representative. While states like Alaska, Delaware, North Dakota, South Dakota, Vermont and Wyoming have 3 electoral votes each, larger states like California, Texas and Florida have 54, 40 and 30 votes. Can Electoral College votes flip an election? Yes, the Electoral College votes can significantly impact the outcome of a presidential election. Let's understand how it works: - Several critics have argued that this mechanism gives disproportionate power to smaller states, as they have a higher ratio of electoral votes per capita compared to larger states. For example: In a small state like Wyoming, which has 3 electoral votes, a voter has three times the voting power compared to a voter in California, which has 54 votes in the offing. - As small states have more electoral votes relative to their population, and often vote on predictable lines (either Democratic or Republican), the candidates focus their campaigns on larger battleground states where electoral votes are more contested. - The winner-takes-it-all-system allows the candidate who secures a majority of the popular vote to be awarded all of the state's electoral votes in 48 of the 50 US states. For example: If a candidate receives 51% of the popular votes in Florida, they will get all 30 electoral votes in the southeasternmost US state. Maine and Nebraska, however, are exceptions, as electoral votes can be split between candidates based on the popular vote. In 2000 and 2016, the electoral college mechanism led to scenarios when candidates won the presidency, without securing the majority of the national popular vote. Will 2024 throw a similar verdict is to be seen.

Electoral College explained: How it could flip US Presidential election results

As Donald Trump and Kamala Harris fight in the race for the White House, one key term is back in the limelight: the US Electoral College.

The US president is elected on the basis of two, not one, elections: the popular votes, followed by electoral college votes.

This is a unique form of proportionate voting which could be confusing to people in other countries.

Here is what you should know about the Electoral College.

Simply put, the Electoral College is a group of electors chosen to represent the election choices of each American state.

Based on population data derived from the Census, each state is allocated a specific number of electoral college votes that adds up to 538 (see list below).

<h2>Why was the Electoral College established in the US?</h2>

The Electoral College system was established in view of the possibility that, considering the different population sizes of each state, the popular vote could be skewed in favour of one winner.

For instance, whoever wins California could take the White House, as it has the largest population. This would not be a proportionate mandate that takes into account the wishes of the people of all states.&nbsp;

In order to solve this, the Founding Fathers of the US introduced the Electoral College as a compromise between congressional selection and direct popular vote.

The Electoral College consists of 538 votes. Whoever gets a total of 270 or more electoral college votes wins the election.

The electors' numbers in each state are proportionate to how many members of Congress it sends. One electoral college vote is equal to one house seat plus two senate seats.

The District of Columbia, which is not a state, has three electors. This exemption was given under the 23rd Amendment of the Constitution, which treats the District of Columbia as a state for electoral college purposes.

<h2>How are Electoral College electors chosen?</h2>

In the general elections, voters are actually choosing their preferred electors rather than directly voting for the presidential candidates.

In most states, the 'winner-takes-all' system is used, meaning all electoral votes for these states go to the candidate who has won the popular vote there.

The states of Maine and Nebraska, however, use a proportionate&nbsp;method.

<h2>How electoral votes are recorded and announced</h2>

Once the general election is over on 5th November, the state officials will prepare a Certificate of Ascertainment listing the electors and their votes, which is sent to the National Archives and Records Administration or NARA.&nbsp;

These electors will meet on the first Tuesday after the second Wednesday in December to cast their votes for president and vice president.&nbsp;

Their votes are then recorded and sent to Congress, which counts them on January 6 at a joint session presided over by the incumbent vice president.&nbsp;

The announcement of the electoral college by the Congress will follow.

This is the formal declaration of the president-elect and vice president-elect, ending the US presidential election process.

The new president will the oath of office on January 20.

<h2>The Electoral College in numbers: States and votes</h2>

As already mentioned, there are a total of 538 electoral votes, and the majority mark, or the magic number, is 270.

US elections: What is Electoral College? Understanding myths and facts

United States (US) Vice President and current Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris appeared briefly rattled after she was heckled during her election rally in Michigan on Saturday (Oct 26).

United States (US) Vice President and current Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris appeared briefly rattled after she was heckled during her election rally in Michigan on Saturday (Oct 26). A report by the New York Post on Sunday said that Harris had begun speaking after former first lady Michelle Obama's address at the rally in Kalamazoo. “We are fighting for America’s future, and we understand the opportunity we have before us to turn the page on the fear," Harris told supporters when she got cut off. 'No more Gaza war!' At the rally, an anti-Israel protester interrupted Harris' address by repeatedly saying, "No more Gaza war!" Harris stopped her speech as the protester shouted her down — and then looked behind her as rally-goers erupted into a shower of boos against the heckler, the report said. Here's a look a the video: YIKES. Kamala SHOOK by protester. Look at the panic. This is now happening at every rally pic.twitter.com/uxclTaoKb0 — Benny Johnson (@bennyjohnson) October 27, 2024 × Her supporters began countering the heckler with chants of "Kamala". “‘On the topic of Gaza, we must end that war,” Harris replied after a brief pause during the commotion. Harris' rally in Kalamazoo came hours before Israel launched multiple strikes at Iran in retaliation for the Islamic Republic's October 1 missile attack. Democrats concerned about political ramifications of Gaza war in Michigan The New York Post report said that Michigan has one of the largest Arab-American populations in the US and Democratic operatives have long been anxious about the political ramifications of the Gaza war on the November 5 election there. A recent poll showed that Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has a razor-thin 0.2 percentage point edge in Michigan. Recently, Dearborn Mayor Abdullah Hammoud, a Democrat, confirmed that he won’t back either candidate in the election. (With inputs from agencies)

US elections 2024: A beginner's guide to US voter registration deadlines

With less than 10 days left for the US presidential elections 2024, which are to be held on November 5, know the common mistakes to avoid while voting by mail.

Most US states allow voting by mail, in which ballots are sent to voters by mail before the election day and are to be returned by the day of the election.&nbsp;While this option allows voters to cast their ballots from the comfort of their homes, they may be more prone to human errors than casting a vote in person at a polling station. These errors may result in the rejection of the ballot and not being counted.

<h2>Here are some common mistakes to avoid while voting by mail:</h2>

<h3>Sending back the ballot too late</h3>

Another one of the most common mistakes that voters make while voting by mail is sending their ballots back too late. Make sure to check your state’s deadline and post them as early as possible so they reach the office in time.

<h3>Not filling out the ballot properly</h3>

Follow the instructions that come with the ballot carefully and fill out the ballot paper. Make sure to mark your option properly with the right colour otherwise, it may not be scanned. Make sure to seal it properly as per the laws of your state.

<h3>Not including required documents</h3>

It is required for a voter to submit a copy of documents required by their state while voting by mail. Failing to do so will lead to rejection of your vote.

<h3>Forgetting to sign the envelope</h3>

Every state requires the voter to sign an affidavit on the envelope containing the ballot. This is to confirm the voter’s identity. Read the instructions carefully and sign where it is required.

<h3>Using a different signature</h3>

If the voter’s signatures do not match their most recent signature on the file with the election office, it may lead to rejection of the ballot.

If you're a member of the Uniformed Services of the United States (US), here is what you need to know when you cast your vote for the November 5 presidential election in the country. The election is less than 10 days away and millions of voters across the country are waiting to exercise their franchise to choose who will be the next president – Donald Trump (Republican Party) or Kamala Harris (Democratic Party). Also read | US presidential election 2024: What ID should you bring on polling day? A look at the guidelines If you are on active duty in one of the country's uniformed services, you are eligible to vote in the election. Here's how: What is UOCAVA? Members of the uniformed services on active duty and their spouses or other dependent family members are eligible to vote under the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA). "If you are on active duty in one of our nation’s uniformed services or if you are the spouse or dependent of an active-duty service member, and if you are absent, because of your service or your spouse’s or parent’s service, from the place of your domicile, you are eligible to vote by absentee ballot under the UOCAVA," according to the Overseas Vote Foundation. The UOCAVA requires that the states and territories allow certain groups of citizens to register and vote absentee in elections for federal offices. In addition, most states and territories have laws allowing citizens covered by UOCAVA to register and vote absentee in state and local elections as well. How to apply for an absentee ballot for the election? You should use the Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) to make a simultaneous voter registration application and absentee ballot request, the Overseas Vote Foundation states on its website. > Fill out the FPCA and send it to your election office. > Check your voter registration deadline for the election based on your state. According to the Federal Voting Assistance Program (FVAP), it had been suggested to send the FPCA by August 1. > Your voting residence (the US state or territory where you are registering to vote) is likely your legal residence. Click on this link to determine your voting residence. "Using the FPCA ensures that your state will send your ballot to you at least 45 days before the election," the FVAP states. > For the presidential election, service members on active duty and their kin should have received their ballot by early October. > According to the FVAP, the recommended vote days for the presidential election are – October 1 (for service members on a ship at sea); October 24 (for service members outside the US); and October 31 (for service members at stateside). > If you requested your ballot but haven't received it, contact your election office to ask about the ballot request. > If there isn't enough time to receive and send back your ballot before the election, use the Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot (FWAB). Click on the link to learn more > The FWAB works like a backup ballot. If your official absentee ballot arrives after sending in the FWAB, fill out and send in the official ballot too. Only one will be counted, the FVAP states. What happens once you submit your FPCA? Once you have submitted your FPCA, an election official will send you (by mail) an unmarked absentee ballot, a set of instructions, an inner envelope, and an outer envelope. Here comes the important part – read and follow the instructions carefully and comply with the requirements of the double-envelope system. > You should mark your ballot in secret and then place the marked ballot in the inner envelope. The inner envelope should have no identifying markings. > You then seal the inner envelope, place it in the outer envelope and seal the outer envelope. > On the back of the outer envelope, which is addressed to the election official, you must complete the affidavit and include your identifying information. > Then you transmit the sealed outer envelope back to the election official.

Chinese hackers targeted phone data of Trump, Harris & JD Vance: Report

The influential Washington Post newspaper, owned by Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos, announced Friday it will endorse neither Democrat Kamala Harris nor Republican Donald Trump in the US presidential election.

CEO William Lewis said this was a return "to our roots of not endorsing presidential candidates."

However, the Post editorial board has endorsed candidates for much of the last four decades -- all of them Democrats -- before deciding to stay on the sidelines in one of the most polarizing elections in US history.

Newspaper editorials have little of their once-powerful political heft. But the Post -- whose slogan is "Democracy dies in darkness" -- is one traditional media outlet that retains influence among Washington's elite.

The Washington Post Guild, which represents unionized staff at the newspaper, said it was "deeply concerned."

Baron said that Trump would see the decision "as an invitation to further intimidate" Bezos.

Voters across the country are gearing up to vote for their preferred candidate who will lead the country for the next four years. Millions of voters have already cast their ballot early, both by mail and in person. In the run-up to election day, a question arises- can American citizens who do not have a permanent address be allowed to vote? Here is what the government says: 'You don't need a home to vote' According to vote.gov, American citizens do not require a home or a permanent address to cast their vote in elections. "If you are a homeless service provider, the United States Interagency Council on Homelessness has more resources for helping people vote," the website states. There are certain things to keep in mind while voting: > Each state and territory has its own voter ID (identification) rules. You may not need an ID to register to vote, but in most states, you must bring identification to vote in person. > In case you do not have an ID, you can get it at your state motor vehicle office, even if you do not drive. You may need to pay to get an ID card, but some organisations may be able to help you pay the ID fee. Some states also offer ID cards for free or at a reduced cost for unhoused people. What happens if you move after you register to vote? If you move after you have registered to vote, make sure to call or visit your local election office to update both your home and mailing address. Many states allow you to update your address on your state’s election website. You can also call or visit your local election office to update your address. In a move to attract young voters of the US, the Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump appeared on a nearly three-hour-long podcast of star podcaster Joe Rogan on Friday (Oct 25) where he shared his views on election polls, income tax and life on Mars.&nbsp;

<h2>Democrats 'cheat' in 2020 election</h2>

Giving Trump an opportunity to repeat his claims of election fraud in 2020, Rogan said, "I want to talk about 2020 because you said over and over again that you were robbed in 2020. How do you think you were robbed?"

<h2>Tariffs replacing income tax</h2>

Trump also shared his support to remove federal income tax as Rogan asked if he was serious about replacing income taxes with tariffs to which the Republican said, "Why not?"&nbsp;

Trump's economic policies have been highly criticised by various economists with most of them saying his economic policies will cost around $15 trillion to the US and will lead the country towards the federal deficit.&nbsp;

In addition to his claims on election fraud,&nbsp;Trump also shared his distrust on election polls.&nbsp;
