When asked about efforts from other countries to meddle in US elections, O'brien acknowledged that there were always going to be such efforts.

"There's always going to be propaganda. There's always going to be efforts to influence us. And again, we know that the Chinese have taken the most active role but the Russians and the Iranians and other countries are involved as well," he said.

Obrien was addressing the media from the White House podium.

Foreign interference in US elections has become a hot topic since 2016 elections which put Donald Trump in the White House.

There were allegations that Russia had made efforts to influence the election process. A comprehensive investigation was also carried out under special counsel Robert Mueller. The investigation revelaed&nbsp;that Trump campaign had not criminally conspired with Russia to influence the election.

NSA Robert O'Brien on Saturday said that he was continuously monitoring the situation to detect any attempts by other countries to influence US Elections 2020.

Facebook Inc has decided to conduct a study on its impact on the society during the US Presidential elections scheduled on November 03 this year.

The social media giant will be partnering with external&nbsp;researchers for this study, and is expecting to publish the research by the middle of 2021.
