The multi-state lottery known as Lotto America first ran in 1988, the same year that Powerball debuted. On April 19, 1992, the name of the game and its inaugural drawing were both changed to Powerball.

"I know there have been questions and concerns about this but there is no, again no indication of aliens or extraterrestrial activity with these recent takedowns," White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said. "I wanted to make sure that the American people knew that," she added during her daily press briefing.

This comes after a US Air Force general on Sunday said he would not rule out aliens or any other explanation yet.&nbsp;

White House National Security Council Strategic Communications Coordinator John Kirby also said that US "don't know for sure whether they [the unidentified objects] had a surveillance aspect to them, but we can't rule it out."

He added China has a "high-altitude balloon programme for intelligence collection that's connected to the People's Liberation Army." and that the programme was operating during the previous administration as well but they did not detect it. "We detected it. We tracked it," he said at the briefing.&nbsp;

"We know that these PRC surveillance balloons have crossed over dozens of countries including some of our allies and partners. We assessed that at this time these balloons have provided limited value to PRC's other intelligence platforms but could become more valuable in future," Kirby added.&nbsp;

The US&nbsp;military also said that it had recovered critical electronics from the suspected Chinese spy balloon downed off South Carolina's coast on February&nbsp;4, including key sensors presumably used for intelligence gathering.

"Crews have been able to recover significant debris from the site, including all of the priority sensor and electronics pieces identified as well as large sections of the structure," the US&nbsp;military's Northern Command said in a statement.

Kirby, meanwhile, refuted China's allegations that the US is flying surveillance balloons over China. "I am not aware of any other craft that we are flying over into Chinese airspace," US NSC Coordinator said.&nbsp;

White House says no 'alien' activity, not sure if three downed aerial objects linked to surveillance

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is mulling a meet with China's former foreign minister and top diplomat Wang Yi at a security conference later this week, reported Bloomberg citing sources. Blinken and Wang Yi would meet at the Munich Security Conference if both sides agree to hold discussions, Bloomberg sources added on condition of anonymity. The conference is scheduled from 17 February to 19 February in Germany.&nbsp;

US-China relationship has long been challenged by a number of issues including human rights and global market competition. Earlier, Blinken was set to kick off his visit to China on 5 February which led to anticipations that the two countries would productively engage and seek to reset ties.&nbsp;

The dinner at the White House was attended by the members of the National Governors Association for the first time during the Biden administration.&nbsp;

“We’re the United States of America. We can get big things done if we do it together,” said the US President while addressing Vice President Kamala Harris, 31 governors which also included both associations’ leaders, Republican Governor, Spencer Cox of Utah and Democratic Governor, Phil Murphy of New Jersey at the State Dining Room. Biden referred to some of the recent laws around investing in infrastructure and domestic manufacture of semiconductors by both parties as evidence of “some bipartisan progress”.&nbsp;

“I think when we work together it works,”&nbsp;said Biden, adding that he’d work on being “a little bit less partisan” and also praised the work done by the governors. He also spoke about how while Republicans and Democrats may not always agree, but when they work together it has made a difference. Notably, Republican Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida did not attend the event.

The dinner for the governors is typically hosted at the White House but was held last year at&nbsp;Mount Vernon, George Washington’s Virginia estate and virtually in 2021 due to COVID-19 making this the first one of the Biden administration. “It’s symbolic to have Republicans and Democrats breaking bread together,”&nbsp;said Utah governor Cox. He added, “This is what is missing in our country. It's hard to hate up close.”&nbsp;

The Republican vice-chair of the National Governors Association also spoke about how even Americans want to see more collaboration across the political aisle. He also thanked the US President and First Lady, Jill Biden before introducing his Democratic counterpart Murphy.&nbsp;

Country-western singer Brad Paisley also performed at the event and played his song “American Saturday Night”. After the dinner, Paisley told the crowd that he swapped out the second line which mentions Russia because “I don't do that anymore,” reported Reuters.

Additionally, Biden, who does not drink alcohol, gave a toast with his left hand, something that was told to him by his grandfather, he explained, when you don’t have alcohol in the glass. Similarly, Cox, who also does not drink, followed suit, telling the room it was ginger ale, reported the Associated Press.&nbsp;

As per the&nbsp;Louisville Police Chief Sean Holdiness, there could be&nbsp;several suspects in the shooting, some of whom are thought to be minors. On Sunday night, at least one suspect was in&nbsp;police custody.

In a statement posted to social media, Louisville Mayor Will Hill said law enforcement will continue investigating the incident.

“Today’s tragedy due to gun violence fills me, as I am sure you, with many emotions,” Hill wrote. “We as a community have grown weary of the repeated concerns and effects of gun violence, especially its impact on our youth,” he said.

Additionally, out of the 15,300 students who participated less than 27 per cent achieved high or grand honours as per their scores.&nbsp;

“This is not just recognition of our students' success on one test, but a salute to their love of discovery and learning, and all the knowledge they have accumulated in their young lives so far,” said CTY Executive Director, Dr Amy Shelton. She added, “It is exciting to think about all the ways in which they will use that potential to discover their passions, engage in rewarding and enriching experiences, and achieve remarkable things — in their communities and in the world.”&nbsp;

Last year, John Hopkins named Indian-origin teenager, Natasha Perianayagam, as the brightest student in the world after she took the CTY test in the Spring of 2021 as a Grade 5 student.

The 13-year-old student attended Florence M Gaudineer Middle School in New Jersey whose results in verbal and quantitative sections levelled with the 90th percentile of advanced Grade 8 performance, as per media reports.
