However, the Ministry of Education completely denied the involvement of the security forces in the incident at the school in Tehran. In the official statement, the authorities said that the students had to be taken to the hospital as several of them experienced a drop in blood pressure levels.&nbsp;

Iran has been experiencing constant protests since the death of 22-year-old Amini after she was detained by the country’s morality police for breaking the hijab law. She was declared dead in the hospital that night with post-mortem reports showing trauma wounds to her head and her body.&nbsp;

Thousands of protestors have been arrested by the security forces till now and on Monday, 315 of them were indicted for “gathering and conspiring with intent to damage national security, propaganda against the system and igniting public disorder,” according to a report by state news agency IRNA.&nbsp;

The United States, European Union, United Kingdom, and Canada have all imposed sanctions on the morality police and high officials of the Iranian government for the tough crackdown on the protests.&nbsp;

“I thought about it for a second and I said, ‘You know what, they shot down an unmanned drone … and here we are sitting with 150 dead people that would have taken place probably within a half an hour after I said go ahead.’ And I didn’t like it…I didn’t think it was proportionate,” Trump reportedly reasoned at the time. It was later revealed that among the people who advised Trump against ordering the strikes in Iran was Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson.&nbsp;

However, the former president went on to authorise the strike against Soleimani. Subsequently, the Pentagon said that the Iranian general had been actively developing plans to attack American diplomats and service members in Iraq and throughout the region”. Soleimani’s death sent shockwaves across the world, while critics called it a reckless escalation of the tensions between Tehran and Washington, some even fearing a full-fledged war. Meanwhile, the country’s leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei called it a “forceful revenge” and declared three-day national mourning for the Iranian general.&nbsp;

Nasser Kanaani, the Iranian foreign ministry spokesman, has reportedly said that the latest text submitted on Friday presented “a constructive approach with the aim of finalising the negotiations”.

The latest Iranian document is part of the series of exchanges with the US via mediators from the EU aimed at tweaking a draft agreement presented on August 8.

EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell on Wednesday had hoped for a resolution within days to revive the 2015 nuclear deal.

Tehran gave its first response to the draft on August 15, which was followed by a response from Washington.

Meanwhile, the US has confirmed receiving the latest response from Iran on reviving the nuclear deal, however it found the text not "constructive".

"We can confirm that we have received Iran's response through the EU," US state department spokesman Vedant Patel was quoted as saying by AFP late Thursday in Washington.

The Revolutionary Guards reported an Iranian colonel was shot dead outside his residence in Tehran on Sunday, blaming his "assassination" on attackers tied to the US and its allies. According to official media, the two assailants shot the victim five times as he entered his residence in an alleyway in the capital's eastern district.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps said that "elements linked to global arrogance" — a reference to the US and its allies, including Israel — were responsible for the "terrorist act" that claimed Khodai’s life.

According to reports, the target was a "defender of the shrine," a reference to Iranians in the Guard's elite Quds force, which handles operations abroad, who battle against the hardline Islamic State group in Syria and Iraq.

The United States is considering removing Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) from its foreign terrorist organizations (FTO) blacklist in return for Iranian assurances about reining in the elite force, Iranian and Western sources had told Reuters.

One Iranian diplomat told Reuters that Tehran had rejected a U.S. proposal to overcome the sticking point by keeping the IRGC’s overseas arm, the Quds Force, under FTO sanctions, while delisting the IRGC as an entity.
