Both Sarandon and Einbinder have been vocal advocates for Palestinian rights, with Sarandon recently noting that her political activism has led to lost film roles and agency pushback.

At a Pro-Palestinian rally last month, Susan Sarandon, the Academy Award-winning actress, apologized on Friday for saying that people who were afraid to be Jewish at the time were "getting a taste of what it feels like to be a Muslim in this country, so often subjected to violence."

In the shadow of the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, Hollywood's role as a bastion of free expression and diverse perspectives is under scrutiny, revealing a disconcerting bias against those who dare to speak up for Palestinians. While the Israel-Palestine issue is undeniably complex, the punitive measures taken against pro-Palestinian celebrities in Hollywood are raising questions about the industry's commitment to genuine inclusivity and freedom of speech.

Celebrities like Melissa Barrera, Susan Sarandon, and Bella Hadid have found themselves facing professional consequences for daring to take a stand on the Israel-Hamas conflict. Barrera's dismissal from the Scream franchise and Sarandon being dropped by her talent agency, UTA, send a chilling message: expressing pro-Palestinian views may cost you your career in Hollywood.

It's crucial to acknowledge the complexity of the Israel-Palestine issue, a geopolitical quagmire with deep historical roots and multifaceted layers of conflict. However, Hollywood, an industry that often prides itself on being a liberal haven, should be a place where diverse opinions are not only accepted but encouraged. The apparent silencing of pro-Palestinian voices contradicts the industry's supposed commitment to freedom of expression.

This isn't merely a matter of political correctness; it's a stark departure from Hollywood's self-proclaimed role as a progressive space for social justice causes. The industry has long been a vocal advocate for various movements, championing LGBTQ+ rights, racial equality, and gender parity. Yet, when it comes to the Israel-Palestine conflict, the same industry appears to have drawn a line in the sand, marking certain perspectives as taboo.

Contrary to the American far right's claims that Hollywood is a breeding ground for liberal indoctrination, the entertainment industry has not historically been a place where people lose their jobs for speaking their minds. It has thrived on the diversity of thought, providing a stage for artists to voice their opinions on a wide array of issues. However, the current treatment of pro-Palestinian figures challenges this perception, exposing a double standard that undermines Hollywood's credibility as a beacon of progressive values.

In an era where calls for justice and equality echo louder than ever, Hollywood's selective tolerance becomes all the more glaring. The entertainment industry must confront this internal contradiction and reaffirm its commitment to fostering an environment where all perspectives are heard, even when it comes to the contentious and deeply divisive Israel-Palestine conflict.

As we navigate through the fallout of the Israel-Hamas conflict, Hollywood's role in stifling pro-Palestinian voices demands introspection. It's time for the industry to live up to its reputation as a haven for diverse viewpoints and, in doing so, to redefine its commitment to genuine freedom of expression, unbound by geopolitical affiliations.

Susan Sarandon casually comes out as bisexual on Jimmy Fallon show: 'I'm bi.. so?'

Susan Sarandon went back in time recently and reflected on the 1991 film 'Thelma and Louise' where she worked with Brad Pitt. The film had catapulted Pitt to fame and even though he was cast in a supporting role, people took notice of the actor.

In an interview to Extra, the actress reflected on the success of the movie and what it was like working with Brad.

Sarandon stated she was surprised by Pitt's performance in the film. “When I saw the film, the part that really impressed me, in addition to his good looks and great body, was his sense of humour because he really fleshed that part out in a way that wasn’t necessarily in the script,” the actress said. “I thought, ‘Ah, this guy’s interesting, you know, he’s not just a really gorgeous face.’”

Pitt played JD, a young drifter who Geena Davis' character Thelma falls for.

“He took it as a character part and as we can see from his career, he really continued to push the envelope in ways that he really didn’t have to when you look like that,” Sarandon added.

Taking a swipe at the Hollywood, Veteran actress Susan Sarandon said that it is `mediocrity` which is rewarded in the industry.

According to Hollywood reporter, Susan made this remark, while she was in London for promoting her new documentary, "Bombshell: The Hedy Lamarr Story", which tells the story of silver screen legend Hedy Lamarr.

Talking about Lamarr, Sarandon said, "it`s certainly not a requirement to be smart in my business."Mediocrity is rewarded time and time again. A lot of the time you`re hired because you don`t ask questions. It takes more time to ask questions, it takes more time to fight for something with integrity," she added.

Sarandon is an acclaimed actress, who won an Academy Award for her performance in "Dead Man Walking" in 1995.She was also vocal on the MeToo movement and addressed the "tricky" nature of films and how they portray sexuality."It`s very complicated, in my business especially, because it`s all about your sexual currency," she said.

"Whether you actually deliver to anyone in charge to get a job that way - people hire women they want to be with and men they want to be. And anyone that falls in between is a character actor," she added.

Adding to the issue, the actress said that it is incorrect to `slut-shame somebody for embracing their seductiveness`."But, at the same time, you want to have enough power and economic stability to able to say no, to not be in a Harvey Weinstein situation where your work is held hostage and you`re forced to do things you don`t want to do," Sarandon said
