A Polish daredevil on Tuesday (June 11) got pulled down by firefighters and was arrested after he attempted to scale a 30-storey building in Buenos Aires, Argentina, without ropes and any other safety gear.

As spectators gazed in suspense, 36-year-old Marcin Banot – clad in an Argentine football jersey– had already ascended 25 stories of the Globant skyscraper when he was finally stopped.&nbsp;

Over 30 firemen, ambulances and police cars were dispatched to the scene after someone within the building contacted an emergency number.&nbsp;

He didn't fight attempts to remove him from the building.

Once forcefully brought down, Banot was taken into custody, authorities said. He may be ordered to pay the costs for the rescue operation, officials told AFP news agency.&nbsp;

The London police said that the suspect was met by officers on the roof before being arrested. “A man has been arrested for aggravated trespass after climbing up the Leadenhall building in the City,” said Chief Inspector Tom Fisher, of the City of London Police, in a statement.&nbsp;

“We were called at 9.06 am (local time) and quickly put a cordon in place. He was met on the roof by police officers and taken into custody,” the statement added. The name of the so-called daredevil was not immediately known.&nbsp;

Alain Robert, the free climber dubbed the "French Spiderman", scaled a 48-storey skyscraper in Paris on Saturday, fulfilling a goal he had set for himself once he reached the age of 60.

Dressed in red, Robert raised his arms aloft as he reached the top of the 187-metre (613-foot) Tour TotalEnergies building, which towers over the French capital's La Defense business district.

"I want to send people the message that being 60 is nothing. You can still do sport, be active, do fabulous things," said Robert, whose 60th birthday was last month.

"I promised myself several years ago that when I reached 60, I would climb that tower again because 60 symbolises retirement age in France and I thought that was a nice touch." he told Reuters.

Robert, who also wanted to use the climb to raise awareness about the need for climate change action, had already climbed the TotalEnergies tower on numerous occasions.

He began climbing in 1975, training on the cliffs near his hometown of Valence in southern France. He took up solo climbing in 1977 and rapidly became a top climber.

Since then, he has climbed more than 150 towering structures around the world including Dubai's Burj Khalifa - the world's tallest building, the Eiffel Tower, and San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge.

According to the ministry, officials who approve such projects in violation of the new rule "will be held accountable for life", which means they will be liable for any follow-up punishment laid down in relation to the breach of rules.

While China acknowledges that high-rise buildings encourage more efficient use of land resources, the country is increasingly concerned that local officials are blindly pursuing construction with little regard for safety and practicality.

Earlier this year, a 356-metre, 71-storey tower in downtown Shenzhen repeatedly shook, raising concerns about safety. An investigation determined that the cause was the 50-metre mast on top of the building that moved in the wind.

"The cause of the shaking is being verified by various departments."&nbsp;

It was not immediately clear how authorities will handle a dangerous building of its scale in the heart of a city of over 12 million people.&nbsp;

Bystander videos published by local media on Weibo showed the skyscraper shaking on its foundations as hundreds of terrified pedestrians ran away outside.&nbsp;

"SEG has been completely evacuated," wrote one Weibo user in a caption to a video of hundreds of people milling about on a wide shopping street near the tower.&nbsp;

The tower is named after the semiconductor and electronics manufacturer Shenzhen Electronics Group, whose offices are based in the building. &nbsp;

It is the 18th tallest tower in Shenzhen, according to the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat skyscraper database.&nbsp;

"We have specimens in the academy’s ornithology collection from a kill that happened when lights were first installed on Philadelphia’s city hall tower in 1896," Jason Weckstein, the associate curator of ornithology at Drexel University’s Academy of Natural Sciences said.

Experts believe that the conditions were nearly perfect for heavy migratory flight but the low ceiling of clouds and rain with the bright lights from skyscrapers turned into a recipe for disaster for the birds.

"Conditions were perfect for a heavy migratory flight and imperfect given that there was a low ceiling of clouds and rain," explained Weckstein. "That in combination with Philly’s bright city lights was a disaster for many fall migrant birds winging their way south."

The scientific logic behind this initiative is that during migration, birds use celestial cues to guide themselves, with stars being the biggest help. When birds are unable to spot the stars, they confuse it with bright, artificial city lights. In such cases, the windows become the biggest concern as they usually&nbsp;times show reflections of trees and sky.

This programme will work in two phases, the first one starting from April 01 till May 31, and the second one from August 15 to November 15. People have been urged to switch off their lights in skyscrapers from midnight till 6 am.
