A violent scuffle broke out between a family and staff members of a restaurant in Noida over the service charge which was included in the bill. The video of the violent clash was shared on the social media platform.

The fight broke out at Float by Duty-Free in Spectrum Mall on Sunday. The video was recorded by people who witnessed the scuffle and it went viral after it was shared on social media. In the video, the family members are seen fighting with the bouncers of the restaurant, who are also hurling abuse at them.

In the video, the restaurant staff are seen being dragged and punched by a group of people. The staff members are in return pushing the people away and trying to defend themselves. Some women are also seen caught in the fight.

As per tweets posted by one of the family members, they were abused by a few staff members. The tweets stated that 30 people were involved in the scuffle, and all of them were associated with the restaurant.

DCP of Noida Zone Harish Chandra said that fight broke out after the bill, which had a service charge included in it, was given to the family. "The fight broke out over a service charge. We have identified the accused and are following the process of law. We will ensure that those who resorted to violence are arrested," said Chandra. National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) president Varun Khera, meanwhile, said that levying service charges fall under the restaurant's sole discretion.

"Earlier there was a misconception among some people that restaurants cannot levy service charges. However, a court order has ruled that restaurants can impose service charges as long as they make it clear to customers," Khera said while speaking to PTI.

"If the service charge is mentioned on the menu card, it means that the customer is aware of it and they have the choice to walk out if they do not agree with the condition," he stated.

Legislators in the Hong Kong assembly came to blows over this controversial bill. This is the second time this month that clashes have broken out between pro-China and pro-democracy lawmakers.

Some of the pro-democracy lawmakers were forcefully removed from the chamber by security guards. The scuffle broke out in the house committee which is tasked with reviewing bills before lawmakers vote on it.

The committee chair's position has been vacant since October. Pro-democracy lawmakers have been using delaying tactics to ensure that an appointment is not made.

On Monday however, pro-China legislators unilaterally appointed an official to lead the committee. This enraged the pro-democracy camp, which considers the move to be illegal.

Some lawmakers tore up the assembly rulebook and threw it at pro-China officials. The bill is scheduled to have a second reading on May 27 in the Hong Kong legislature.

Protesters are calling for a city-wide demonstration on that day. Although Hong Kong participates as a separate entity in sporting events, they have the same national anthem as China.

Sporting fans have often booed at the Chinese national anthem inside stadiums. In response, Beijing passed a bill against insulting its national anthem.

But as per the agreement between mainland China and Hong Kong. All laws passed by the Chinese communist party will have to ratified by the hong kong legislature.

Hong Kong police have also charged 15 pro-democracy activists over their role in last year's protests. All 15 of them were arrested last summer as well. Some of them are former lawmakers.

Most of them were bailed out, but few of them used the opportunity to criticise the govt publicly in court.

Hundreds of students took part in the protest against "massive fee hike" and the new hostel manual which also includes provisions on dress code and curfew timings. They raised slogans against the university administration and the government. 
 
The protest turned out into a scuffle outside the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) auditorium where Vice President Venkaiah Naidu addressed the third annual convocation. The students removed a barricade and came face to face with police. 
 
Union Minister for Human Resource Development, Ramesh Pokhariyal 'Nishank', JNU Chancellor and Niti Ayog member Vijay Kumar Saraswat and Vice-Chancellor M Jagadesh Kumar were among those who attended the convocation. 
 
Police tried to push back students who refused to move away from gates. Women police personnel were also present who were seen pushing the protesting girl students. 
 
Earlier, hundreds of JNU students carried out a march from 'Freedom Square' to AICTE Auditorium with banners against the 'massive fee hike'. 
The protesting students raised slogans against the police and Union Home Minister. 
 
"The administration is not taking the students' concern into consideration. The Vice-Chancellor has clearly refused to arrange even a single meeting with the students over the changes which have been unilaterally introduced," one of the protesting students told ANI. 
 
"They are proposing a hike of the mess fees, and even the utility charges will be increased as per it. The students will be at the receiving end of it at multiple fronts, the students, therefore, are in a state of anguish right now," she said. 
 
"I would urge the VC to look into the genuine concerns of the students and not treat it like a private university. Many of the students come here because it is affordable," she added. 
 
Another student said that subsidies are provided so that the poor can also study at the varsity. "How will a poor student be able to study here if the hostel fee is over Rs 6,000 to Rs 7000," the student asked. 
 
Police were also seen requesting students to keep their protest peaceful. 
 
"You are resorting to violence. Please keep your protest peaceful," a police official was seen telling the protesters as a group of students removed police barricade.
