It's only when Doctor Yashpal (Vineet Singh) opens a shooting range in the village to churn out state-level champions, do the grandmothers, now in their 60s, take up shooting. They initially start shooting to inspire and encourage their granddaughters but subsequently find their calling and their voice. After years of hiding from the family and winning medals- there comes a point when they have to reveal their secret for the sake of their daughters. Would the family and society at large accept them?&nbsp;</p>

<p>The story, from the heartland of the country, has a lot to relate to. Women in rural as well as urban areas are often subjugated to patriarchal norms and unnecessary rules which not suppress their voice but also curb freedom. So in that sense, the story of ‘Saand Ki Aankh’ is a known one. You know how the story will pan out eventually yet its the treatment and the performance that keeps you glued to the seat. Without being too preachy, writers Jagdeep Siddhu (dialogues) and Balwinder Singh Janjua paint a very real picture where you feel the pain of these women. You understand why the two women feel suffocated in their own house. You heart goes out to the younger girls, who know they are more capable of winning medals than their brothers and yet are not allowed to pursue their dreams. &nbsp;</p>

<p>The film completely focuses on Bhumi Pednekar and Taapsee Pannu- and they do not disappoint. In a short period, both actresses have carved their niche in the film industry by playing spirited characters. In ‘Saand Ki Ankh’ too they play similar roles, but they adapt the dialect, the mannerisms of rural, uneducated, feisty women well. They fit in the milieu well. I found myself ever so often looking more at Pednekar than Pannu as the former brings in the right amount of restraint to her character Chandro. But the women complement each other well and deliver superlative performances. They share incredible camaraderie on screen and their bond is well reflected on screen.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Among the men, Vineet Kumar as their coach, mentor, and guide deliver a formidable performance. Prakash Jha also impresses as the conservative patriarch who doesn't believe in giving the women in his family a voice.&nbsp;</p>

<p>While the two actresses deliver in their respective parts, one can't help but wonder why the makers could not have cast senior actresses in these roles. They do have different sets of actors playing the husbands-younger and older- so what stopped them from doing the same in Chandro and Prakashi's case? Surely there is no dearth of senior actresses in this country who would perform equally well.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The film is also a bit long and could have been edited better. The whole ordeal of the four women leaving their homes at the break of dawn every day while the household sleeps appears to be repetitive after a point. And the narrative becomes a bit jumbled near the climax.&nbsp;</p>

Biopics on Saina Nehwal, Kapil Dev and Abhinav Bindra are already in the making and now, a biopic on Indian women's cricket team captain Mithali Raj has been announced. Actress Taapsee Pannu will be playing the cricketer in the film that has been titled as 'Shabaash Mithu`.<br />

Taapsee announced the upcoming project on Instagram while wishing Mithali on her 37th birthday. Taapsee`s wish for Mithali wasn`t a simple affair as she surprised fans with the big news. Wishing the birthday girl, the `Naam Shabana` actor assured her that she is all "prepared to learn the `cover drive`."<br />

"Happy Happy Birthday Captain Mithali Raj! You have made all of us proud in more than many ways and it`s truly an honour to be chosen to showcase your journey on screen," she captioned a string of pictures shared on Instagram.</p>

<p>Producer Sajid Nadiadwala of 'Housefull 4' said, "The first three days of our film since release were like paid previews. People came in despite the festive season and enjoyed the film. I think we had the best-paid previews with a total collection of Rs 53 crore, and our actual weekend starts today."</p>

Bhumi Pednekar bags Face of Asia honour at Busan International Film festival

<p>Bollywood actor Taapsee Pannu unveiled a new peppy track from her upcoming movie 'Saand Ki Aankh' titled 'Woomaniya' on Thursday.<br />
<br />
The desi song is all about Tapsee and Bhumi Pednekar's characters, Chandro and Prakashi Tomar, celebrating the new sterilization facility's availability in their village.<br />
<br />
The foot-tapping song has lyrics from Hanuman Chalisa. In the video, the actors who are playing shooter grannies in the flick can be seen in young avatars.<br />
<br />
Before this, the makers of the film released the first song of the film 'Udta Teetar'&nbsp;which depicts the heroic story of the shooter Dadis.<br />
<br />

The trailer of the flick was released last month, which took the audience into the world of the brave ladies, who battled with a society dominated by men, in order to encourage their daughters towards a bright future and win against all the odds. The film is based on Chandro and Prakashi, who are from Uttar Pradesh`s Johri village and reportedly took up sharpshooting in their 50s. Chandro is fondly called as shooter `dadi` and is among the world`s oldest female sharpshooters.Earlier there were rumours about the film getting shelved as mentioned by Taapsee in her tweet. However, Anurag had dismissed all such reports by telling a publication that the shooting of the film will commence on February 10.Apart from this film, Taapsee will next be seen in ‘Tadka’, ‘Badla’ and ‘Mission Mangal’, whereas Bhumi will appear in ‘Sonchiriya’, ‘Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare’ and Takht.
