In an unbelievable incident, an Indian man - identified as Santosh Lohar hailing&nbsp;from the state of Bihar - dug his teeth in a snake after it bit him while he was sleeping.

The man, who was a resident of Nawada city, was sleeping at his base camp after completing the entire day's work of placing railway lines when he was attacked by the snake.&nbsp;

The man, who believed in the superstition that biting the snake helps in neutralising the venom, decided to do the same and bit the snake twice, as reported by the NDTV.

The 35-year-old man's unconventional response led to the death of the snake, however, he was also admitted to the hospital.

According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), if someone gets a snake bite, it is recommended that he/she act quickly and seek medical help.&nbsp;

Also, the person after getting bitten by the snake, should immediately leave the area and remove any jewellery or tight clothing.

The affected limb should be immobilised and it should be kept still. Nobody should try to suck out the venom. The victim should instead be taken to a health facility quickly and safely.

Human turns vicious for snake! Indian man bites and kills killer reptile. But did he survive?

A horrific incident took place in Jakarta, Indonesia on Tuesday (July 2) when a man found his wife inside the stomach of a snake in the jungle.

36-year-old Siriati was visiting her brother and the two had to go to market together to purchase the medicine in Luwu Regency, South Sulawesi.

However, she was attacked by a gargantuan 30ft-python which held her leg by its teeth while she was trekking along a forest trail.

The woman was crushed to death after she was coiled by the killer reptile who then started to swallow her.&nbsp;

The woman's husband Adiansa started worrying about his wife when her brother called and informed him that she did not reach his house.&nbsp;

He went through the same route and on that trail, found her slippers on the grass. The man, then, stumbled upon a huge snake that had 'a very large belly' and was lying on the ground just some steps away from the path.

The man saw Siriati’s legs coming out of the python’s mouth and her slippers and pants lying on the ground.

He found a wooden stake and killed the snake, by piercing it through the body. With the help of the villagers, he opened the stomach of the snake and found the lifeless body of Siriati.

They recovered the corpse and buried her in the village of Siteb the next morning.

Siteba Village Secretary Iyang said that the mother of five was killed by the snake around 7:30 am local time.

"The victim wanted to go out to buy her child's medicine. Her youngest son is three years old. She was visiting her brother and had to go through the forest first," the secretary said.

Walenrang Police Chief Adjunct Police Commissioner Idul said that the body of Siriati was found intact. "This snake more or less dragged the victim five metres from the location," he added.

"The condition of the body was intact but perhaps the bones had been crushed. The body is already at the funeral home for a religious ceremony," he said.

Idul stated that there was a wound on the leg of the victim which appeared like a snake bite.

"We think it was a snake bite. After being bitten, it immediately wrapped itself around the leg and finally paralysed the victim," he said.&nbsp;

"The implications of this discovery are manifold, but most importantly indicate that the long-anticipated transitional ichthyosaur ancestor must have appeared much earlier than previously suspected," said Benjamin Kear, lead author of the study published in the journal Current Biology. "Reptiles represent an important and diverse branch of the tree of life and play integral roles in the ecosystems where they occur," said Bruce Young, co-leader of the study.

"This global assessment is a key beginning to understanding reptile conservation needs. Now we know where the priorities are and what the threats are that we need to ameliorate. There is no longer any excuse for leaving reptiles out of conservation planning and implementation efforts worldwide," added Young.

"Using anatomical and histological data, we carried out a comparative analysis of the original and regrown tail segment tissues located near the junction site in the American alligator. All samples analyzed were obtained from wild-caught, juvenile or sub-adult alligators of both sexes (2F:1M) and were assigned a body condition score of 3, as all individuals were well-nourished and in good physical condition at the time of capture," the report read.

The scientists used&nbsp;advanced imaging techniques, with the tried and tested methods of studying&nbsp;anatomy and tissue organisation. As per the study, the regrown tail of the alligator has&nbsp;central cartilage skeleton without any bone which allows the tail to regenerate and heal the wounds on its own.

"The regrown skeleton was surrounded by connective tissue and skin but lacked any skeletal muscle (which lizard tails do regenerate with)," Kenro Kusumi, co-senior study author and professor and director of ASU's School of Life Sciences and associate dean in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, told CNN.

This study, experts believe,&nbsp;will help in the advancement of the regenerative therapies in human beings. "We know that humans -- who are incapable of regenerating -- have the same cells and pathways being used to regenerate in these other animals," Jeanne Wilson-Rawls, co-senior study author and associate professor with ASU's School of Life Sciences said. "If this very large long-limbed animal has this ability, can we take advantage of this to help people who have lost limbs or burn victims who need skin regeneration?"
