He has now been arrested by the FBI.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He has now been charged on three counts for using a facility of interstate commerce to sexually abuse minor girls.</p>

<p>As per the prosecutors, the accused used platforms like Google Hangouts and Kik for in 2020 to talk to parents of minor daughters. He sought permission from the parents to groom their minor daughters to be sexually submissive.</p>

<p>As per a release from US Attorney’s Office states, in June 2020, Griffin allegedly advised a mother of 9- and 13-year-old daughters that it was her responsibility to see that her older daughter was “trained properly.”</p>

<p>"Griffin later transferred over $3,000 to the mother for plane tickets so the mother and her 9-year-old daughter could fly from Nevada to Boston’s Logan airport," states the release.</p>

<p>If convicted, Griffin faces 10 years of imprisonment on each federal count.</p>

<p>A spokesperson for CNN, in a statement, said, "The charges against Mr Griffin are deeply disturbing. We only learned of his arrest yesterday afternoon and have suspended him pending investigation."</p>

<p>Weinstein`s not-guilty plea was expected as he has always denied he forced any of the dozens of women who have accused him of sexual misconduct to have sex with him.</p>

<p>His lawyer, Benjamin Brafman, said two sexual encounters described in the indictment handed up last week were consensual.</p>

<p>More than 80 women, including the actresses Angelina Jolie, Gwyneth Paltrow, Ashley Judd, and Rose McGowan have come forward with similar stories about Weinstein.</p>

<p>Some accused him of using physical force to compel them to have sex.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, Thane Police Commissioner, Param Bir Singh said that interrogation in the matter is underway while adding that the Deputy Commissioner of Police will brief about it once the interrogation concludes.</p>

<p>Speaking over the matter, IPL Commissioner, Rajeev Shukla said, "The matter is with the police, we have nothing to do with it. Both Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and International Cricket Council (ICC) have anti-corruption units, police can coordinate with them.</p>

Arbaaz Khan has confessed to losing Rs 2.75 crore in bets on IPL: Sources

<p>After sexual assault charges were dropped against former International Monetary Fund Chairman Dominique Strauss-Kahn in 2011, his lawyer Ben Brafman assailed the accuser`s credibility, telling Reuters: "This encounter was quick, it was consensual and she was a willing participant."</p>

<p>Brafman on Friday hinted he would take a similar tack defending his latest client, movie producer Harvey Weinstein. But this time Brafman, one of the New York`s most prominent defence lawyers, will make his arguments against the backdrop of the #MeToo movement, which was largely sparked by reports of his client`s sexual misconduct.</p>

<p>Outside the Manhattan courthouse where Weinstein, 66, was arraigned on rape and criminal sexual act charges, Brafman said that, if he cross-examined the accusers, a jury would not believe them, "assuming we get 12 fair people who are not consumed by the movement that seems to have overtaken this case."</p>

<p>Weinstein has said he never had non-consensual sex with anyone, and Brafman said his client would plead not guilty to the charges by the Manhattan District Attorney`s Office.</p>

<p>Attacking the credibility of accusers through tough cross-examination is a common defence strategy in rape and sexual assault cases, which often boil down to "he said, she said," according to New York lawyer Lisa Linsky.&nbsp;</p>

<p>She said the play-book had not changed in the #MeToo era, and Brafman might argue that the accusers and other women coming forward were motivated by fame or money.</p>

<p>In the Strauss-Kahn case, Brafman said at the time he planned to argue that the woman must be lying because she was much larger than the accused. “In a one-on-one, she would probably win if this turned into a fist fight," Brafman told Reuters in 2011. "She is not a small person.”</p>

<p>But a number of lawyers questioned whether Brafman would be able to cross-examine Weinstein`s accusers aggressively in the face of overwhelming public sentiment in their favour and against Weinstein.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"That is the $64,000 question," said Gerald Lefcourt, one of Brafman`s peers among New York defence lawyers.</p>

<p>Lefcourt said he thought Brafman would find a way. "I think he is conscious of those considerations and will be able to strike the right tone," said Lefcourt. "That`s what makes him a great trial lawyer."</p>

<p>Shira Scheindlin, a former New York federal judge now in private practice, said the defence will become even more difficult if the judge allows the testimony of women other than the accusers as evidence Weinstein had a pattern of conduct.</p>

<p>“If five other women have come forward, that’s going to weigh heavily on the jury,” she said, though Brafman would likely argue that such testimony would be prejudicial.</p>

<p>Bennett Gershman, a professor at New York`s Pace Law School, said the task for Brafman was "monumental, maybe even impossible" given the depth of public antipathy toward Weinstein.</p>

<p>"There is nobody like him," said Gershman. "He is the poster boy of predatory sexual conduct. Brafman is not going to be able to dislodge that view of him."</p>

<p>Gershman said he thought Brafman`s best strategy would be to stall for time and try to get the best possible plea deal, which would certainly include prison time.</p>

<p>But defence lawyer Roy Black said he did not think a deal would be possible.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Given the way the flames of prejudice have been whipped up against him, anything less than life in prison will seem like a sweetheart deal," said Black.&nbsp;</p>

Weinstein attorney Brafman could face 'impossible' task: lawyers

<p>Bollywood actor-director Neeraj Vora died aged 54 Thursday after battling with serious illness.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Succumbing to illness, Vora had been in the state of coma for last one year.</p>

<p>Producer friend Firoz Nadiadwala announced the death of his &#39;brother and friend&#39; --whom he had known for 12 years. In a statement, Nadiadwala said,&nbsp;&quot;He passed away at 4 am on Thursday. I&#39;ve lost the battle to save my brother and friend from the clutches of death. His health had improved so much. But it deteriorated suddenly on Friday.&quot;</p>

<p>He added, &quot;&quot;He had to be shifted to hospital. But it was no use. We lost him.&quot;</p>

<p>When Vora had been in coma for the previous year, Nadiadwala took care of all his medical expenses. As disclosed by Nadiadwala himself, Vora occupied a special room in former&#39;s&nbsp;bungalow where the ailing writer-director was attended to by a fleet of medical experts, nurses, dieticians and well-wishers.</p>

<p>Nadiadwala&nbsp;said: &quot;It was one year on October 19 since I got Neeraj to my home in Mumbai from AIIMS in Delhi where the doctors had declared he would be dead in a few hours.</p>

<p>&quot;Quite frankly, I don`t know what powers made me do what I did. I couldn`t leave him to die. He had nobody to look after him. Neeraj did have a brother. But he was financially incapable of shouldering the responsibility, he added.</p>

<p>Staying on Vora&#39;s side while he fought with illness, Nadiadwala revealed, &quot;As I said, the doctors at AIIMS had given up on him. I don`t know what got into me. I immediately hired an air ambulance to bring Neeraj from Delhi to Mumbai. &quot;I have to confess my heart was in my mouth. If Neeraj had passed away during that journey from Delhi to Mumbai, or even after landing, I would have been in serious legal and moral trouble.&quot;</p>

<p>&quot;Luckily, God was on my side. He willed that Neeraj live and I be the tool to save his life. I sincerely believe we are all instruments of God brought on earth to do His will,&quot; he added.</p>

<p>Vora had started to recover.&nbsp;</p>

<p>&quot;I had set aside a room in my house for him. That was his home for the past one year. The room has pictures of his parents. His father, a classical musician, used to play Veena. We had that music playing in his room.</p>
