"The train knocked him over but, through some miracle, did not kill him," General Javier Avalos, a security official for the town of Ate in Lima province, was quoted in AFP news agency as saying.

"He apparently was in a state of intoxication, fell asleep along the train tracks, and did not feel the train coming," the security official added.
The CCTV footage taken from the accident site shows the train dragging the man, but by the operator's presence of mind or just sheer luck, the man escaped with only minor injuries on his left arm.
Such mishaps, during track crossings are fatal, and to save a few minutes, commuters are literally ready to trade with their lives. A similar incident was reported in August last year, when a young man wearing headphones was trapped between the railway tracks and run over by a cargo train, which took his life. Not just in Peru, but these time-saving patterns are seen in passengers in many countries across the globe.

Lautaro Martinez scored a spectacular goal for Argentina against Peru last night, equalling Diego Armando Maradona's tally for the reigning World Champions. Wion's Esha Hanspal gets you the details.

Martinez Leads Argentina to Victory Against Peru

A magnificent volley from Lautaro Martinez was enough to give world champions Argentina a 1-0 win over Peru while ten-man Ecuador upset Colombia with a 1-0 victory in South American World Cup qualifying on Tuesday.

Argentina remain on top of the CONMEBOL standings with their qualification for the 2026 tournament surely just a matter of time.

It was far from a vintage performance from Lionel Scaloni's team, the winners of the last two Copa America tournaments, but a moment of magic from Inter Milan's Martinez proved decisive.

Julian Alvarez went closest to breaking through in the first half when he struck the post after good work from Martinez.

Argentina were dominating possession without creating many openings but with frustration starting to creep in among the crowd at the 'Bombonera' stadium in Buenos Aires, Martinez delivered.

Lionel Messi floated in a cross from the left and Martinez leapt into the air, leaning back as he cracked a thundering left-volley past Pedro Gallese.

Argentina's eighth win from 12 games leaves them on 25 points at the top of the table. Second-placed Uruguay were playing later at Brazil.

In Barranquilla, a gritty victory from 10-man Ecuador moved Sebastian Beccacece's young side into third place in the 10-team qualifying group.

Veteran striker Enner Valencia stunned the home crowd with an outstanding solo effort in the seventh minute, the former West Ham United forward breaking away from three Colombian defenders and powering into the box before slotting home.

Colombia forward Jhon Cordoba then missed a golden opportunity to level the score, stumbling off balance and missing from point blank range after being set up by James Rodriguez.

Cordoba was central to the 34th minute incident that left Ecuador short-handed for the rest of the game.

The gangly striker raced clear and rounded Ecuador keeper Hernan Galindez before going down as Piero Hincapie closed in on him.

The referee ruled that Hincapie had tripped the forward and despite lengthy appeals and a VAR review the decision stood.

Galindez was then alert to keep out the resulting free-kick from Rodriguez and the keeper then had a busy end to the half as Colombia peppered his goal.

Liverpool winger Luis Diaz headed a Daniel Munoz cross against the post and Galindez did well to smother Cordoba at close range.

Colombia grew increasingly frustrated as Ecuador's defence held firm in the second half with Galindez parrying to keep out substitute Jhon Duran and the unfortunate Cordoba blasted the loose ball high and wide from a tight angle.

<h2>Paraguay draw, Chile win</h2>

Elsewhere Tuesday, Paraguay earned a 2-2 draw at Bolivia with the home side going ahead in the 15th minute with a confident strike from Ervin Vaca.

Newcastle United forward Miguel Almiron levelled for Paraguay in the 71st minute with a clinical finish after a smart passing move across the box.

Bolivia restored their lead nine minutes later with a Miguel Terceros penalty after Gustavo Gomez brought down Lucas Chavez in the box.

Both benches got involved in protests and Bolivian sub Adalid Terrazas and Paraguay's Diego Gomez, who had been substituted, were both shown red cards.

Paraguay grabbed a point in stoppage time in some style with a magnificent solo effort from Julio Enciso who dribbled from deep before unleashing a thundering drive from 20 yards out.

Ninth-placed Chile have a lot of work to do if they are to make one of the six automatic qualifcation spots but they did their cause no harm with a 4-2 thrashing of Venzeula.

Venezuela took &nbsp;the lead thanks to a thunderbolt from the edge of the box from Jefferson Savarino but seven minutes later Eduardo Vargas levelled.

Ruben Ramirez restored the lead for the 'Vinotinto' but an own goal from Tomas Rincon made it 2-2 and Lucas Capeda's 38th minute goal sent Chile in with a 3-2 lead at the break.

Capeda finished off a swift counter attack in the 47th minute to give Chile their second win of the campaign.

Biden jokes his wife wishes to send him to space, shows concern for stranded astronauts

US President Joe Biden and Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping will attend the first day of an Asia-Pacific leaders' summit Friday ahead of a face-to-face meeting under a cloud of diplomatic uncertainty cast by Donald Trump's election victory.

Biden and Xi are due to hold talks on Saturday, in what a US administration official said will probably be the last meeting between the sitting leaders of the world's largest economies before Trump is sworn in in January.

With the Republican president-elect having signalled a confrontational approach to Beijing for his second term, the bilateral meeting will be a closely watched affair.

Xi and Biden arrived in Lima Thursday along with other world leaders for a two-day heads-of-state meeting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) grouping.

APEC, created in 1989 with the goal of regional trade liberalization, brings together 21 economies that jointly represent about 60 per cent of world GDP and over 40 per cent of global commerce.

The summit program was to focus on trade and investment for what proponents dubbed inclusive growth.

But uncertainty over Trump's next moves now clouds the agenda -- as it does for the COP29 climate talks underway in Azerbaijan, and a G20 summit in Rio de Janeiro next week.

On Thursday, APEC ministers, including US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, held their own meeting behind closed doors in Lima to set the tone for the summit to follow.

Trump announced this week he will replace Blinken with Senator Marco Rubio, a China hawk.

<h2>'America First'&nbsp;</h2>

The summit will also be attended by Japan, South Korea, Canada, Australia and Indonesia, among others.

President Vladimir Putin of APEC member Russia will not be present.

Trump's "America First" agenda is based on protectionist trade policies, increased domestic fossil fuel extraction, and avoiding foreign conflicts.

Biden, Xi to attend Asia-Pacific summit, to hold talks on Saturday

Chinese President&nbsp;Xi&nbsp;Jinping&nbsp;on Thursday inaugurated Latin America's first Beijing-funded port in Chancay, Peru -- a symbol of the Asian superpower's growing influence on the continent as it prepares to face off with a new Donald Trump administration.

The $3.5-billion complex, about 50 miles (80 kilometers) north of Lima, is meant to serve as a hub for Chinese trade as the country is under threat of major tariff hikes once Trump reenters the White House for a second term.

The port was officially opened in a ceremony overseen virtually by&nbsp;Xi&nbsp;and Peruvian counterpart Dina Boluarte from Lima, where they will attend an Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit on Friday and Saturday.

"China plays a major role in the growth of our economy," Boluarte said at the event, even as a US official warned Latin American nations should be vigilant on Chinese investment.

"We believe it is essential that countries across the hemisphere ensure that PRC (People's Republic of China) economic activities respect local laws as well as safeguard human rights and environmental protections," Brian Nichols, the top US diplomat for Latin America, said in Lima.

Xi, for his part, said the port would help "promote connectivity" between South America and China.

"We are witnessing... the birth of a new land-sea channel between Asia and Latin America in the new era,"&nbsp;Xi&nbsp;said

US President Joe Biden also arrived Thursday to attend the APEC summit in Peru, which Nichols described as a "crucial ally."

<h2>Belt and Road&nbsp;</h2>

Peru,&nbsp;one of Latin America's fastest-growing economies over the past decade, is China's fourth-largest Latin American trading partner, with bilateral flows of nearly $36 billion in 2023.

Chancay port will also serve Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and other South American countries, allowing them to skirt ports in Mexico and the United States as they trade with Asia.

Chancay is the latest addition to a vast collection of railways, highways and other infrastructure projects built under China's massive Belt and Road Initiative to stimulate trade and boost Beijing's political clout.

Hong Kong-listed Cosco Shipping Ports, which owns 60 percent of the port, has a 30-year concession to operate the terminal and has forecast it will handle up to a million containers in its first year of operation.

Cosco Shipping Ports is a subsidiary of China's COSCO Shipping Corporation.

The port's maximum depth is 17.8 meters (58.4 feet), allowing it to handle the world's biggest container ships.

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday inaugurated Latin America's first Beijing-funded port in Chancay, Peru -- a symbol of the Asian superpower's growing influence on the continent as it prepares to face off with a new Donald Trump administration. The $3.5-billion complex, about 50 miles (80 kilometers) north of Lima, is meant to serve as a hub for Chinese trade as the country is under threat of major tariff hikes once Trump reenters the White House for a second term. The port was officially opened in a ceremony overseen virtually by Xi and Peruvian counterpart Dina Boluarte from Lima, where they will attend an Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit on Friday and Saturday. "China plays a major role in the growth of our economy," Boluarte said at the event, even as a US official warned Latin American nations should be vigilant on Chinese investment. "We believe it is essential that countries across the hemisphere ensure that PRC (People's Republic of China) economic activities respect local laws as well as safeguard human rights and environmental protections," Brian Nichols, the top US diplomat for Latin America, said in Lima. Xi, for his part, said the port would help "promote connectivity" between South America and China. "We are witnessing... the birth of a new land-sea channel between Asia and Latin America in the new era," Xi said US President Joe Biden also arrived Thursday to attend the APEC summit in Peru, which Nichols described as a "crucial ally." Belt and Road Peru, one of Latin America's fastest-growing economies over the past decade, is China's fourth-largest Latin American trading partner, with bilateral flows of nearly $36 billion in 2023. Chancay port will also serve Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and other South American countries, allowing them to skirt ports in Mexico and the United States as they trade with Asia. Chancay is the latest addition to a vast collection of railways, highways and other infrastructure projects built under China's massive Belt and Road Initiative to stimulate trade and boost Beijing's political clout. Hong Kong-listed Cosco Shipping Ports, which owns 60 percent of the port, has a 30-year concession to operate the terminal and has forecast it will handle up to a million containers in its first year of operation. Cosco Shipping Ports is a subsidiary of China's COSCO Shipping Corporation. The port's maximum depth is 17.8 meters (58.4 feet), allowing it to handle the world's biggest container ships. The doctors made a startling discovery as they began dissecting the hands of one of the controversial Peru's 'alien mummies'.&nbsp;

Among the bones of what some have claimed are mummies of aliens, doctors found strange and complex metallic structures.&nbsp;

The dozen strange specimens, known as 'Nazca Tridactyls', were believed to belong to Peru and were found by anonymous local 'huaqueros' (tomb raiders).

The doctors said that they removed a "light metal" implant&nbsp;from the palm of the new specimen, reported The Daily Mail.

A video was recorded of the dissection in which a physician was seen carefully pulling out the suspected 'alien implant' from the severed, three-fingered hand of Nazca Tridacty with tweezers.

The metal was removed by the Mexican Navy forensic doctor and examiner Dr Jose Zalce Benitez.&nbsp;

"It is a very complex metal alloy that requires special knowledge and techniques to be able to achieve it with such quality and purity,"&nbsp;Benitez said.

"It was possible to identify elements such as aluminium, tin, silver, copper, cadmium and osmium among others in smaller quantities and percentages," he added.

In the video, one of the mummified hands was peeled back and its metacarpal' or 'palm' bones were revealed.

"This tridactyl hand, from which I obtained the metal, does not belong to any of the bodies presented at the Mexican&nbsp;Congress," Dr Zalce said.&nbsp;

"This hand is part of a series of loose pieces that belong to the place where the tridactyl bodies of Peru were found," added the physician and forensic expert.

Speaking about the procedure in detail, Dr Zalce said, "We used a forensic technique to protect the tissue and minimize its degradation [...] a special serum that is used for the rehydration of corpses that has very specific concentration percentages."

"We use sterile swabs with a soft surgical cotton tip to avoid any type of damage or contamination to both the metal sample and the tridactyl hand," he added.

Experts dissect hands of Peruvian 'alien mummies', make a shocking discovery of...

Peruvian former President Alejandro Toledo was convicted of taking bribes from Brazilian construction giant Odebrecht and sentenced to 20 years and six months in prison on Monday.

The verdict marks Peru's first high-profile conviction related to Brazil's continent-spanning Lava Jato corruption scandal.

Toledo, a 78-year-old economist who holds a doctorate from Stanford University, governed the Andean nation between 2001 and 2006.

He was convicted of taking $35 million in bribes from the company formerly known as Odebrecht, according to prosecutors, in exchange for letting it win a contract to build the road that now connects Peru's southern coast with an Amazonian area in western Brazil.

During the year-long trial, Toledo denied the money-laundering and collusion charges.

Odebrecht, now known as Novonor, was at the center of Latin America's largest graft scandal, after admitting in 2016 that it bribed officials in a dozen countries to secure public works contracts.

Last week, Toledo asked the court to let him serve his sentence at home as he battles cancer.

"Please let me heal or die at home," he said.

The sentence was announced in a room set up in a small Lima prison where Toledo has been detained since last year.

Former President Pedro Castillo is also being held there as he faces allegations of "rebellion" after trying to dissolve Congress in 2022.

Two other ex-presidents, Pedro Pablo Kuczynski and Ollanta Humala, are also being investigated in the Odebrecht case.

Toledo, who famously shined shoes as a child, was arrested in the United States in 2019 after officials in Peru requested his extradition.

Prosecutors relied on testimony from former Odebrecht executive Jorge Barata as well as Toledo's ex-collaborator Josef Maiman, who said Toledo received bribes.

The former president signed the contract with Odebrecht for the construction of the road, though building it took place over two subsequent administrations.

Former&nbsp;Peruvian president Alberto Fujimori, who steered economic growth during the 1990s but was later jailed for human rights abuses stemming from a bloody war against Maoist rebels, died on Wednesday. He was aged 86.

Close colleagues visited him earlier in the day, reporting that he was in a critical condition.

"After a long battle with cancer, our father... has just departed to meet the Lord," his daughter Keiko Fujimori wrote in a message on X, also signed by the former leader's other children.&nbsp;

Fujimori, the son of Japanese immigrants, was the little-known chancellor of a farming university when elected to office in 1990. He quickly established himself as a cunning politician whose hands-on style produced results even as he angered critics for concentrating power.

He slayed hyperinflation that had thrown millions of&nbsp;Peruvians out of work, privatised dozens of state-run companies, and slashed trade tariffs, setting the foundations for&nbsp;Peru&nbsp;to become, for a while, one of Latin America's most stable economies.&nbsp;

Under his watch, the feared leader of the Maoist Shining Path, Abimael Guzman, was captured - dealing a crucial blow to a movement that in the 1980s seemed close to toppling the&nbsp;Peruvian state. Guzman died in prison in September 2021.&nbsp;

But many&nbsp;Peruvians saw Fujimori as an autocrat after he used military tanks to shut down Congress in 1992, redrafting the constitution to his liking to push free-market reforms and tough anti-terrorism laws.

A slew of corruption scandals during his 10-year administration also turned public opinion against him.&nbsp;

Shortly after he won a third election in 2000 - amending the constitution to run - videos emerged of his top adviser and spy chief Vladimiro Montesinos doling out cash to bribe politicians. Fujimori fled to exile in Japan.&nbsp;

He resigned via fax from Tokyo and then unsuccessfully campaigned for a Japanese senatorial seat.&nbsp;

Montesinos was later captured in Venezuela and jailed, convicted by the hundreds of videos he recorded of himself handing out cash bribes to politicians and business and media executives.

The cases against Fujimori piled up - including accusations that he had ordered the use of death squads in his battle against Shining Path militants.

Fujimori was safe in Japan - he was a dual citizen and Japan does not extradite its citizens. So many were shocked when in 2005 he decided to head back to&nbsp;Peru, apparently in hopes of forgiveness and a return to politics.

Instead, he was detained during a layover in Chile, extradited to&nbsp;Peru&nbsp;in 2007, and in 2009 he was convicted and sentenced to 25 years in prison.

<h2>'FUJI-SHOCK'</h2>

Once jailed, Fujimori's public appearances were limited to hospital visits where he often appeared disheveled and unwell.&nbsp;

While detractors dismissed his health complaints as a ploy to get out of prison, then-president Pedro Pablo Kuczynski briefly pardoned Fujimori in 2017.&nbsp;

Months later Kuczynski was impeached and the pardon overturned by&nbsp;Peru's top constitutional court, sending Fujimori back to the special prison that held him and no other inmates.

The court restored the pardon in December 2023, releasing the ailing Fujimori, who had suffered from stomach ulcers, hypertension and tongue cancer. In May 2024, Fujimori announced he had been diagnosed with a malignant tumor.&nbsp;

Fujimori's legacy has been most passionately defended by his daughter Keiko, who has been close to clinching the presidency herself three times on a platform that has included pardoning her father and defending his constitution.&nbsp;

The late Fujimori was born in Lima on&nbsp;Peruvian Independence Day, July 28, 1938.&nbsp;

A mathematician and agricultural engineer, Fujimori was a political nobody when he decided to run for the presidency, driving a tractor to his campaign rallies. He surprised the world by defeating renowned writer Mario Vargas Llosa in the 1990 election, with heavy support from the left.&nbsp;

He touted himself as an alternative to the country's white elite and gained crucial support from&nbsp;Peru's large Indigenous and mixed race populations.

As&nbsp;Peru&nbsp;battled what was among the world's worst hyperinflation, Fujimori promised not to carry out drastic measures to tame it.

But on his second week in office he suddenly lifted the subsidies that kept food essentials affordable, in what became known as the 'Fuji-shock.'

"May God help us," Fujimori's finance minister said on TV after announcing the measure. Inflation worsened in the short-term but the bet paid off, eventually stabilizing the economy after over a decade of crisis.&nbsp;

Even as support for him started to wane, Fujimori pulled off audacious stunts in his second term.

In 1997, he devised a plan to dig tunnels under the Japanese ambassador's residence in Lima to end a four-month hostage crisis after another insurgency, the Tupac Amaru Revolutionary Movement, took 500 people captive for 126 days.

In a surprise attack, Fujimori sent in more than 100 commandos in a raid that killed all 14 insurgents.&nbsp;

Only two commandos and one of the remaining 72 hostages died. Television footage showed Fujimori calmly stepping over the corpses of the insurgents after the raid.

Fujimori was married twice. A public falling-out with his first wife Susana Higuchi while he was president led him to name daughter Keiko as the first lady. The couple had three other children, including Kenjo Fujimori, also a politician.

In a more controversial claim, famous ufologist Jaime Maussan said that the experts have discovered rare metals and alloys in the chests of the "alien mummies"&nbsp;from Peru.&nbsp;

The ufologist said that mobile phone-like devices were in the bodies of the mysterious corpses.

According to the ufologist, these metals were most probably the interstellar communication devices.

Among those rare metals found, one was osmium which can prove lethal to humans. "I believe this is a device for communication. I don't really know how it works, but the experts will have to go in-depth to understand why they put this inside the body," said Maussan, as reported by The Mirror.

"My guess is this was for health, to communicate something or a kind of cellular phone. The metal is made of osmium, which is used for telecommunications and satellites in the space field. It is very rare. It's not easy to find and it's very, very expensive and besides it's very toxic. For a human to have that inside them could create a big injury in the body or probably could kill the body," he added.

"So it's difficult to understand why they did it. If you are going to create a hoax like this, are you going to put a very rare metal inside?" said the ufologist.

The bodies are being currently tested by scientists. Maussan has claimed that they were first found in a cave in Nazca, Peru, in 2017.

"It is completely bizarre to me that these discoveries have been ignored, dismissed and ridiculed; instead of being considered as the biggest story in the&nbsp;world&nbsp;of science. People are always eager to invoke some kind of conspiracy theory to explain why some injustices have happened. But in my experience you do not need a conspiracy theory when human frailty or failure will do just fine," he added.

Watch: Peru's 'Alien Mummies' under fresh scrutiny "My initial takeaway from looking at these beings is that these bodies are a new species unknown to mankind previously. It is a major discovery for mankind," Michael said. "It is completely bizarre to me that these discoveries have been ignored, dismissed and ridiculed; instead of being considered as the biggest story in the world of science. People are always eager to invoke some kind of conspiracy theory to explain why some injustices have happened. But in my experience you do not need a conspiracy theory when human frailty or failure will do just fine," he added. (With inputs from agencies)

Mobile phone-like devices implanted in Peru's 'alien mummies', claims ufologist

The Indigenous tribe in the Peruvian Amazon that emerged from a rainforest weeks ago has reportedly attacked loggers in the area. The tribe that has never been contacted had come out amid fears of encroachments. A local Indigenous coalition says that the tribe attacked the loggers with bows and arrows in the Peruvian Amazon region. The tribe here is the Mashco Piro number a little over 750 and reside in the forests of southeast Peru, according to the human rights group Survival International.

The violence has been reported by the coalition FENAMAD to highlight how the government hasn't done enough to protect the tribe's territory from the extraction of forest resources. FENAMAD is a federation of tribes that live around the Madre de Dios River. The body claims that a member of the Mashco Piro tribe fired an arrow on July 27, seriously injuring at least one logger.&nbsp;

Notably, the area of the rainforest where the attack happened has been acknowledged by the government to be Mashco Piro territory, according to Survival International. FENAMAD has reached out to the Peruvian Ministry of Culture, urging “urgent intervention” in the matter and ensure that the people of the Mashco Piro remain unharmed.&nbsp;

According to Survival International, Mashco Piro is the largest uncontacted tribe in the world. Despite being given territorial rights, logging operations are happening in the vicinity. When the tribe emerged from the rainforest in July, concerned groups raised alarm that this could lead to violence. They were seen on banks of the Las Piedras River in Monte Salvado located within the Madre de Dios province of Peru, bordering Bolivia and Brazil.&nbsp;

<h2>Horrors committed on Mashco Piro people</h2>

The fear among the tribe is not unfounded. In the late 19th century, colonial rubber barons tortured their people in the western Amazon. they hunted them down and beat them to death, including committing other atrocities such as chaining them, robbing them, rape and murder. Thousands of them were even enslaved. Today they are living in fear of deforestation and illegal logging.

Experts also fear that any kind of interaction between the tribe and the loggers can spread diseases among the tribal people and "wipe them out". Alfredo Vargas Pio, president of regional Indigenous organization FENAMAD, said in a press release, “This is irrefutable evidence that many Mashco Piro live in this area, which the government has not only failed to protect but actually sold off to logging companies."&nbsp;

The tribe had earlier emerged from the forest in 2011 and then again in 2013 to grab the attention of the world.

Humanoid, three-fingered “alien mummies” discovered in Peru last year have “straight” fingerprints that do not match those of humans. Watch in for more details!

Peru's 'Alien Mummies' under fresh scrutiny

The mystery around Peru's 'alien mummies' has deepened after an attorney, who recently checked these unearthly specimens, found that these humanoid three-fingered creatures have “straight” fingerprints which are not similar to that of humans.&nbsp;

Defence attorney and former Colorado prosecutor Joshua McDowell examined one of those weird and extraterrestrial bodies, who had been given the name "Maria", along with the three independent forensic medical examiners who came from the United States.&nbsp;

The experts, along with him, were left stunned when they found that the fingerprints of these alien corpses had perfectly straight lines.

Speaking to The Daily Mail, attorney Joshua McDowell said, “These were not traditional human fingerprint patterns."

“We did not see any loops or whorls on the prints of the fingers or on the toes. I’m a former prosecutor. I’m a criminal defence attorney. I’ve seen lots of fingerprints. And these were not classic fingerprints,” he said.

UFO enthusiast and controversial Mexican journalist José Jaime Maussan presented nearly half a dozen of these “alien mummies” at Mexico’s congress.

Last April, the US medical examiners and McDowell travelled to Peru to study these unearthly bodies, along with Maussan.

Although the lack of human fingerprints has left them puzzled, McDowell said it is “extremely premature” to make any statements regarding the origin of the mummies.

He said that such unusually straight fingerprints “could possibly have something to do with the way her skin was preserved”, adding that it’s “very odd.”

Meanwhile, Maria's body is covered with diatomaceous earth, which is a kind of white powder made from fossilized algae's sediment found in bodies of water.

“However, on the fingers that were exposed, the epidermal ridges I saw appeared to be in mostly straight lines,” McDowell said.

Although nothing has been determined officially about what exactly these humanoid bodies are, still McDowell has been spending hours resolving this case.

These 4-foot tall “alien” species, who are called “the Nazca mummies” &nbsp;because they were found in the Nazca region of Peru, have been making headlines for having three fingers in their hands and elongated heads.&nbsp;

Maussan has time and again claimed that they are aliens, a theory which has not been accepted by government officials and scientists who are calling it a man-man hoax.

Peruvian authorities in January claimed that they were “dolls”&nbsp;which have been patched together using human and animal bones, metal, glue and paper. “They are not extraterrestrials; they are not aliens,” said forensic archaeologist Flavio Estrada, while speaking to the reporters.
