"It is a really honest film and we are already getting an overwhelming response. We will put all our energies to take the film forward," the actor told PTI. Amit Masurkar said the news "doubles the happiness." "We are really happy. The fact that the film is releasing today doubles the happiness. We hope that people will now really head to the cinema halls to watch the film," the director told PTI. Newton is a political satire which around an honest election officer's attempt to conduct a free and fair poll in a conflict-hit area of Chhattisgarh. The film co-stars Pankaj Tripathi, Raghubir Yadav and Anjali Patil. "Newton" is Masurkar's second film as director after the 2014's "Sulemani Keeda".

The organisers of the Academy Awards said on Wednesday that the two PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) accountants behind the mix-up that saw "La La Land" incorrectly named best picture before "Moonlight" was declared the real winner, will not work the Oscars ceremony again.

A spokesperson for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences said PwC accountants Brian Cullinan and Martha Ruiz will no longer tabulate Oscar votes and hand out envelopes containing winners' names at Hollywood's most prestigious awards ceremony.

No decision has been announced by the organisation on whether it will continue its partnership with PwC, which has handled the Oscar tabulation process for 83 years.

A PwC spokesman said Wednesday that Cullinan and Ruiz were still employed as partners at the accounting firm.

PwC had earlier taken full responsibility for the gaffe that stunned the Dolby Theatre crowd in Hollywood and a television audience worldwide.

The onstage blunder was not rectified until the "La La Land" cast and producers were on stage giving their acceptance speeches caught the mistake and announced "Moonlight" as the real winners. The mishap was unprecedented for the usually meticulously choreographed ceremony and stole the spotlight from the winners.

PwC said Cullinan had mistakenly handed presenters Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway, who were announcing the best picture winner, the backup envelope for Actress in a Leading Role instead of the envelope for Best Picture.

"Once the error occurred, protocols for correcting it were not followed through quickly enough by Mr Cullinan or his partner," the accounting firm said in a statement.

Cullinan had posted a now-deleted backstage photo of actress Emma Stone after she won her best actress Oscar on Twitter minutes before the mix-up.

A day after the incident, the Academy and apologised to all affected, including presenters Beatty and Dunaway, and said it will "determine what actions are appropriate going forward."

PwC accountants blamed for Oscars blunder won't work ceremony again

An accountant for the Academy Awards botched the meticulous procedure for announcing the Oscar for best picture when he handed victory to "La La Land" before declaring "Moonlight" the real winner, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) said on Monday.

When Mahershala Ali won the gong for the best supporting actor at the Academy Awards on Sunday, he became the first Muslim actor to win the golden statuette.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' decision to award Ali for his role in 'Moonlight' assumes larger significance as it comes days after the Donald trump administration attempted to ban Muslims from entering the US.

The black actor beat Michael Shannon (Nocturnal Animals), Jeff Bridges (Hell or High Water), Lucas Hedges (Manchester by the Sea) and Dev Patel (Lion) to break new grounds.

Though this year's Oscars was unexpectedly politically-charged due to US President Donald trump's raft of controversial executive orders, Ali kept his acceptance speech subdued and stuck to the movie only.

"I want to thank my teachers, my professors. One thing that they consistently told me... 'It's not about you. It's about these characters. You are a servant. You're in service to these stories and these characters'," said Ali, who recently became a father to a baby daughter.

But Ali, who became a Muslim 17 years back, had spoken about his identity and religion when he won the Screen Actors Guild award last month.

In an atmosphere that has been engulfed with religion, and often bigotry, Ali spoke about the need to keep such differences aside.

Mahershala Ali Oscar win created a furore in Pakistan after Maleeha Lodhi, Pakistan’s envoy to the United Nations, deleted a tweet that noted Ali was the first Muslim actor to win an Academy Award. The tweet, however, was spotted by Twitter users who saved screen grabs.

A Syrian cinematographer, who worked on this year's Academy Award nominee for best documentary short subject "The White Helmets", has been barred by the US immigration authorities from entering the country.

The 21-year-old cinematographer Khaled Khateeb, who was planning to join Raed Saleh, leader of the White Helmets Syrian rescue group and subject of Netflix's Oscar-nominated documentary, was expected to arrive here a day before the ceremony, reported Deadline.

The Department of Homeland Security has decided to block Khateeb from the country after they obtained some alleged "derogatory" information about him.

However, a spokesperson for the film said that the filmmakers will have no comment on the situation or do "any interviews until the red carpet event at the Oscars."

The 40-minute documentary, produced by Joanna Natasegara and directed by Orlando von Einsiedel, focuses on the Nobel Peace Prize-nominated warriors, who have saved more than 60,000 civilian lives in war-torn Syria.

Syrian cinematographer denied entry into US to attend Oscars

Rescue workers from Syria's White Helmets group -- the subject of an Oscar-nominated documentary -- will not attend this weekend's Academy Awards ceremony because of intensified regime bombing, their leader said Saturday.

"I am not going because of our workload due to intensified regime strikes on the provinces of Damascus, Daraa and Homs," Raed Saleh told AFP.

"There are many things that have to be done on the ground, such as managing operations and providing emergency vehicles," he said.

Saleh and fellow White Helmet member Khaled Khatib had been set to attend Sunday's ceremony in Hollywood, where "The White Helmets" is shortlisted for best short documentary.

Istanbul-based Khatib, who shot much of the footage, also confirmed that he would not attend the ceremony, despite obtaining an American visa.

"I won't travel to OSCAR due to intensity of work, our priority is helping our people," he tweeted in English on Saturday.

"I was going to leave on Tuesday, but there was too much work because of the bombing," Khatib told AFP by telephone.

"I'm also working on producing another film about the White Helmets that has to be ready in two weeks. I will not go."

The two rescuers had feared they could be barred from attending the ceremony because of US President Donald Trump's late January executive order imposing a 90-day entry ban for citizens of seven Muslim majority countries, including Syria.

The ban has since been lifted by a US federal court, and on February 18 the pair received their visas.

More than 310,000 people have died since Syria's conflict erupted in March 2011, and more than half of the country's citizens have been forced to flee their homes.

Since the White Helmets group was created in 2013, it has hired more than 3,000 volunteers and claims to have saved more than 78,000 lives.

It takes its name from the protective headgear worn by its members.

Direction: 4.5/5

A well directed movie will never let you feel the ticking of clock and this one makes you forget the existence of clock. From the opening frame to the closing, there is not a single dull moment in the film.

Melfi successfully managed to convert a biographical book to a binding visual experience.

Acting: 5/5

For a successful movie, actors needs to feel the characters. The three leading ladies in this movie aced the art of absorbing their characters and bringing them alive on the screen.

Entertainment : 5/5

This movie is a full packed entertainment. Even after being a NASA oriented film, it is not heavy on scientific jargons or mathematical theorems.

This enriching journey of three women takes the audience with them, glides through their strengths and finally lands on the pedestal of a future that changed history.

Overall rating: 4.5/5
