The 37-year-old boxer had been planning to fly from Krakow airport to Thessaloniki in Greece along with another man on a flight Tuesday operated by Polish airline Buzz, a subsidiary of Ryanair.

"The passenger travelling with Mr Usyk was correctly refused boarding... by the airport gate agent at Krakow Airport due to his disruptive behaviour," Ryanair said in a statement to AFP on Wednesday.

"Mr Usyk was not refused boarding, however (he) chose not to board," the airline said, adding that the gate agent later called for assistance from airport police.

The two men "were somewhat upset. They didn't want to leave the departure gate. So in accordance with the procedure, our officers intervened," local border guard spokesman Jacek Michalowski told AFP.&nbsp;

"They were issued a warning and released," he said, denying that they had been detained.

Video footage circulating on social media showed officers walking a handcuffed Usyk through the airport.

"As you saw online, one of these people was handcuffed, but that was only for preventative reasons because they were upset and we needed to bring them to the room in peace," Michalowski said.

Usyk on Tuesday tweeted that "a misunderstanding took place. It was quickly resolved".

Zelensky said Tuesday he spoke with Usyk on the phone after the incident.&nbsp;

"I was disappointed by this attitude towards our citizen and champion," Zelensky added on X.

"Now, everything is fine, our champion has been released, and he is no longer being detained."

Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk have agreed to fight each other next in a world heavyweight title unification bout, according to veteran boxing promoter Bob Arum.

Fury defeated his British rival Derek Chisora for the third time in his career to retain his WBC title earlier this month.

He then called out Ukrainian hero Usyk, the IBF, IBO, WBO and WBA belt-holder, who was ringside at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Following that fight, the 34-year-old Fury forecast a clash with Usyk, either in Saudi Arabia or Britain, sometime in February or March.

"The two fighters have agreed to fight each other next," the 91-year-old Arum told Sky Sports on Tuesday.

"With Fury and Usyk we're dealing with two adults, not a lot of (rubbish) back and forth. Usyk is a good friend of mine, he's very intelligent and Tyson is Superman, both as an athlete and as an intellect."

The American, involved in some of Muhammad Ali's celebrated contests of the 1970s, added: "So they want the fight. Both of them want the fight and so there'll be very little, if any, (messing) around."

"Now the question is what's the date and what's the site. But that fight is definitely going to happen and it will happen in the first four months of next year."

An angered Joshua hurled down Usyk's belts and peppered his post-fight speech with expletives despite the presence of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, de facto ruler of the deeply religious country.

"I just spoke from my heart. It has been so tough," Joshua said afterwards, adding: "It takes real strength and tonight there's a little crack in the armour."

The judges scored it 113-115, 115-113 and 116-112 for Usyk as Joshua narrowed the gap but was still found wanting.

Usyk won the rematch by split decision to register his second consecutive world title win against Joshua, who delivered an&nbsp;expletive-laden rant in the aftermath of the defeat and also threw away&nbsp;two of the championship belts out of the ring. Joshua also went on to ask Usyk how could he beat him as he felt he was the stronger one out of the two.

Joshua was up there for the challenge and boxed well but ended up losing in a split decision after 12 rounds. He looked in sublime control during the fifth and sixth rounds as he delivered a low blow in the fifth before putting the Ukrainian back on the roped. However, Usyk fought back and dominated towards the end to win the fight.

Joshua lauded Usyk for winning the fight before recalling his troubled past and how he avoided jail to become the boxer that he is today. He once again heaped praise on his Ukrainian opponent asking the fans to give him a round of applause for being the heavyweight champion of the world.

“Usyk, one hell of a f***ing fighter, let’s give him a round of applause. That’s just emotion. If you knew my story, you would understand my passion,” Joshua said at the start of his rant.

“I ain’t no f***ing amateur boxer from five years old that was an elite prospect from a youth. I was going to jail. I got bail and started training my ass off, because if I got sentenced, I wouldn’t be able to fight.”

On being asked if he will return as a soldier? Usyk said that “nobody will let me go to the front line. But a lot of my close friends are on the front line. I’m supporting them and with this fight, I want to bring them some kind of joy in between what they do.”

They are bombing soldiers. They are bombing army battalions. But they are not showing the bombs landing on civilian houses or hospitals. Two days ago in Kyiv, a bomb landed on the house where civilians lived. Two days ago a rocket landed on a shopping mall in Kremenchuk where all the normal people were. Their soldiers are saying on their TV that [Ukrainians] are shooting each other. So I don’t trust what they say.
