As I watched <em>Jogira Sara Ra Ra</em>, starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Neha Sharma, I couldn't help but wonder: "Why would people spend their money to watch an old-school comedy-drama that has been served plenty of times before?"</p>

<p>Not only this, the film raises the question of why the decision was made to release the film on the big screen at a time when Bollywood is witnessing more misses at the box office than hits. However, keeping all these thoughts aside, let's discuss the movie and whether the audience should pay for the ticket or simply wait for the film to land on the OTT platform.</p>

<h3><strong>What's the story?</strong></h3>

<p>Helmed by Kushan Nandy, <em>Jogira Sara Ra Ra </em>revolves around a jogi (Nawazuddin Siddiqui), a wedding planner, matchmaker, and total&nbsp;jugaadu — a word used to refer to someone excelling at&nbsp;frugal innovation. His business is successful, but his personal life is chaotic, and the blame goes to his ladies' clan, comprising his&nbsp;mother, a bunch of sisters, and an aunt, who are always on his head. It should be full of entertainment with funny dialogues, a decent story, a cast that suits the vibe of the characters, and a plot that keeps the viewer hooked with endless laughs till the end. If the film ticks all these boxes, the movie is a hit. But, in the case of <em>Jogira Sara Ra Ra,</em> it tries to tick most of the boxes but fails miserably and leaves everything halfway through.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Written by Ghalib Asad Arora, the film doesn't explore much and remains tangled in many unnecessary things that only stretch the film. The narrative of the film is baffling and makes you wonder about the maker's motive. At some points, the film goes haywire with some unnecessary plot points, preachy dialogues, and character additions.</p>

<p>Despite so many flaws, the makers attempt to give the film a humorous touch which brings in some laughs momentarily.</p>

<p>Nawaz has proven his acting prowess in many critically acclaimed shows and movies, but he seems like a misfit in this film. To be honest, this is not a character meant for him. Nawaz as a flirty Jogi, wearing a blingy jeans jacket and speaking preachy dialogues, doesn't blend well. On the other hand, Neha's performance as a free-spirited brat child is credible. She has tried to do justice to her character but what holds her back is the lazy writing.</p>

<p>Like always, Sanjay Mishra manages to win the hearts of the audience as Chaudhary. His comic timing is perfect and his scenes light up an otherwise dull film. Other actors like Mahaakshay Chakraborty&nbsp;as Lallu, Suman Patel, Rohit Chaudhary, Vishwanath Chatterjee, Ghanshyam Garg, Zarina Wahab, and others have done a decent job in their limited screen time.</p>

Jogira Sara Ra Ra review: Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s film is neither for theatre nor OTT

<p>Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui who is known for playing characters excellently on-screen has won the hearts of audiences across the world. The actor after years of hard work and stardom in Bollywood, has been signed on for an international project. He will be playing the lead role in an American indie film named ‘Laxman Lopez.’</p>

<p>Directed by Roberto Girault, and pitched as a Christmas-themed film, the shoot will entirely take place in the US. The film will go on the floor by the end of 2022.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Roberto Girault is a Mexican filmmaker, who has given hits like 'La Leyenda Del Diamante' (2017), 'Los Arboles Mueren de Pie' (2015) and 'El Estudiante' (2009).&nbsp;</p>

"For starters, the opportunity to work in a Christmas movie is something very different and immediately had my attention. The director, Roberto Girault, has shown his power and command over the camera, and the way he can unveil new sides to an actor. It is a welcome challenge that I often yearn for. And most importantly, the name, Laxman Lopez, had me instantly curious,” the actor said.&nbsp;<br />

And most importantly, the name, Laxman Lopez, had me instantly curious,” the actor said. Meanwhile, director Girault said, "I am very excited about this collaboration. <p>A video was shared by one of his fans on Instagram where he can be seen boarding the train. It was later revealed by the actor that he chose to travel on the train to avoid getting stuck in the Mumbai train.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the video, Nawazuddin Siddiqui can be seen with a fully covered face with a white mask, a cap and sunglasses. He kept his look very simple in a red t-shirt and black track pants. The Instagram user captioned the video, "Nawazuddin Siddiqui at Mumbai local train sitting opposite of me."</p>

<p>The film will be predominantly in English-language that will chronicle a tragic and strange story with a mix of funny moments as a South Asian man meets an Australian girl in the US.</p>

<p>Speaking about the film, Nawazuddin said, “The script explores today’s strange world, with strong humour, satire, and emotion,” said Siddiqui. “I felt compelled to be associated with the project in more than just the capacity of an actor, as I thought this is that kind of film which really needs to be made.”</p>

<p>The film will be co-produced by popular Bangladeshi actress Nusrat Imrose Tisha and Mostofa alongside Anjan Chowdhury of the Bangladeshi conglomerate the Square Group. Nawazuddin will produce through his Magic If Films.</p>

<p>‘No Lands Man’ came into the picture when it won the Motion Picture Association of America and Asia Pacific Screen Awards’ Script Development fund in 2014. It was part of the Asian Project Market at Busan and was chosen as the best project at India’s Film Bazaar the same year. The film is in pre-production currently and principal photography will commence later this year.</p>

<p>The Republic Day weekend usually has a lot of moolah riding on it according to Bollywood trade pundits. The theatres opened up to two films today -- ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ and ‘Thackeray’ as both Kangana Ranaut and Nawazuddin Siddiqui race to woo the audience.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Based on the life of Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray who united the people of Mumbai on various fronts and fought for their rights, ‘Thackeray’ opened to a grand welcome by the people. The film released in some theatres in the Maharashtrian capital at sharp 7:45 am.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The first show on the first day was announced as packed to its full capacity.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Shiv Sena workers were seen with drums, dancing on the streets after having watched the film. They even burned firecrackers on the roads, celebrating the film and its release.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, some workers were seen staging a protest outside some theatres including INOX cinema of Navi Mumbai. Apparently, the cinema owners had not put up the poster of the film which irked the workers. After a brief protest, the owners were forced to put up the poster which led to the disbursement of the crowd. This chaos led to the first show at the theatre getting delayed by some time.&nbsp;</p>

The theatres opened up to two films today -- ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ and ‘Thackeray’ as both Kangana Ranaut and Nawazuddin Siddiqui race to woo the audience. Based on the life of Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray who united the people of Mumbai on various fronts and fought for their rights, ‘Thackeray’ opened to a grand welcome by the people. The film released in some theatres in the Maharashtrian capital at sharp 7:45 am. The first show on the first day was announced as packed to its full capacity. Shiv Sena workers were seen with drums, dancing on the streets after having watched the film. They even burned firecrackers on the roads, celebrating the film and its release. Director Abhijeet Panse was also seen at one of the theatres for the first show, probably to gauge the public’s reaction. He apparently walked out of the film's premiere soon after he reached the venue. Meanwhile, some workers were seen staging a protest outside some theatres including INOX cinema of Navi Mumbai. Apparently, the cinema owners had not put up the poster of the film which irked the workers. After a brief protest, the owners were forced to put up the poster which led to the disbursement of the crowd. This chaos led to the first show at the theatre getting delayed by some time.

This film is about a policeman facing a life-altering decision when he must decide to shoot or not. Directed by Amit Kumar who earlier made an award-winning short film - <em>Bypass</em>&nbsp;a film that had&nbsp;Nawazudin Siddique and Irrfan Khan sharing screen-space&nbsp;together.</p>


Makers feel the clash will not affect any of the films as the both the films have different audiences.
