As months ago, the director was criticised for not informing any original team members of the 1987 release and&nbsp;the announcement had drawn criticism&nbsp;from Sonam Kapoor and&nbsp;Shekhar Kapur.&nbsp;<br />

Sonam Kapoor by criticising the new project,&nbsp; wrote on her Instagram, "It's quite disrespectful and underhanded if it is true since no one bothered to consult my father or Shekhar uncle, two people who played a major role in making the film what it was and is," Sonam father Anil Kapoor headlined the original one.&nbsp;<br />

Reacting to the reboot news, Shekhar Kapur had earlier said on Twitter, ''No one has even asked me or mentioned to me about this film called Mr India 2. I can only guess that they using the title to get a big weekend. For they cannot use the characters/story without permission from the original creators of the film''.&nbsp;<br />

Zafar is currently working on a super-hero film with Katrina Kaif, ''Yes, I am creating a superhero universe, beginning with Katrina’s film. We then move to Mr India, which will carry forward bits from Katrina’s film, and we are developing two more characters. My third superhero is rooted in Indian mythology and the fourth comes from the Indian army,” Zafar confirmed the news.&nbsp;<br />

Jitesh Singh Deo won the title Mr India (World)

Mr India World 2017 concluded Thursday night in Mumbai with some of the who's who of the Indian fashion industry in attendance. One such celebrity was Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut who was at the event as one of the judges. Clad in a rather trendy outfit, Kangana looked quite the part of a fashionista judge. Present with her was fashion designer Manish Malhotra, sports star Mahesh Bhupathi, TV actor Gaurav Chopra and several other known faces. The Mr India (World) title was won by Jitesh Singh Deo while 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-ups were Abhi Khajuria and Pavan Rao respectively. Mr India Supranational 2017 was given to Prathamesh Maulingka.
