Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) Mohammad bin Salman is expected to visit India in mid-November while on his way to the G20 summit in Indonesia's Bali.&nbsp;

Citing sources, several Indian news sites reported that the Saudi Crown Prince will meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 14 and after that, both leaders are likely to leave for the G20 summit, which will take place on November 15–16.&nbsp;

The report comes after the Algerian presidency released a statement on Saturday, stating that the Saudi Crown Prince will not attend the Arab summit to be held on November 1 in Algeria, in compliance with a doctors' recommendation to avoid travel.&nbsp;

The statement mentioned that, in a phone call with Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the Saudi Crown Prince "expressed his regret for not attending the Arab summit".&nbsp;

Later, the Saudi foreign ministry released a statement about the phone call between the two leaders, but it didn't indicate that the Crown Prince would not be present for the summit.&nbsp;

The 31st summit of Arab heads of state is scheduled to take place in Algiers on November 1-2.&nbsp;

Last month, Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar visited Riyadh for bilateral talks. He had conveyed the Indian Prime Minister's invitation to the Saudi Crown Prince and also asked him to visit at an "early date".&nbsp;

US lawmaker Ilhan Omar has introduced a bill seeking US sanctions against Saudi&nbsp;Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman&nbsp;over the death of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

The bill was introduced in the wake of a US intelligence report that implicated the prince, known as MBS, which had alleged that he had&nbsp;approved the operation that led to the death of the dissident journalist in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, Turkey, in 2018.&nbsp;

The declassified report was released last Friday by Office of the Director of National Intelligence. Khashoggi was a&nbsp;Saudi citizen and resident of the US.

"This is a test of our humanity," Omar, a Democrat from Minnesota, said in a statement on the bill.&nbsp;

However, the Democratic US President Joe Biden and the State Department are not keen to sanction the Saudi leadership.&nbsp;State Department spokesman Ned Price had said that Washington is working to "recalibrate," and not "rupture", bilateral ties.

Saudi Arabia also said that relations with the US will not be hurt by the Biden administration’s release of the intelligence report, UK daily the Financial Times reported on Wednesday.&nbsp;

Prince Khalid bin Bandar, the Saudi ambassador to London, told the British paper that the release of the report was “an internal issue for the United States”, adding that the kingdom was focused “on maintaining our relationship” with the US.&nbsp;

“I don’t see it as a setback at the moment. Look at what the administration has said publicly, they have said Saudi Arabia is a trusted ally, they are focused on defending and protecting Saudi Arabia. I don’t see the Americans turning away from us, or us turning away from America," FT quoted the Saudi envoy as saying.

Saudi had&nbsp;rejected the claims made in the US report, which did not unearth any new evidence directly linking Prince Mohammed to Khashoggi's killing.&nbsp;

Abdallah Al-Mouallimi, the kingdom's permanent representative to the United Nations, had said it “does not rise to anywhere close to proving the accusation beyond reasonable doubt”.

Saudi Arabia has been witnessing change on many levels and the challenge before Riyadh is how it adapts to this change. Mohammad bin Salman became Saudi Arabia's minister of defence in 2015. In 2017, he was appointed the crown prince. His rise has been defined by change and established by a purge also a series of reforms and risky gambles.

MBS wanted to bring the Kingdom closer to the world, so he allowed women to drive, opened the Kingdom's doors to concerts and movie theatres.

The crown prince also curtailed the power of the religious police. Saudis were no longer regulated by strict gender segregation rules. Riyadh allowed women to obtain a passport and travel abroad without the permission of a male relative and open businesses.

In 2016, MBS announced his vision 2030. He sought to restructure, diversify and privatise the Kingdom's economy. The crown prince kick-started the development of non-oil revenues. The move helped cushion the pandemic's impact a little.

In 2020, Riyadh moved ahead with its economic reforms. Saudi Arabia's sovereign fund invested $1.3 billion in India. The reforms continued on the domestic front too. Earlier this year, Riyadh banned flogging as a punishment. It has also done away with the death penalty for crimes committed by minors and recently revised textbooks to make them more tolerant.

It has also facilitated major diplomatic changes in the region. In the middle of the pandemic, four Arab countries normalised ties with Israel - the UAE, Bahrain, Sudan and Morroco. The deals could not have happened without Saudi Arabia's backing.

An ex-Saudi intelligence official, Saad al-Jabri, has alleged that MBS sent an assassination team, also known as Tiger Squad, to kill him. He claimed the attempted assassination was a result of his awareness about MBS' activities and his relations with several organisations.

Jabri is currently in hiding somewhere in Canada with high-level security, including the local police and private bodyguards.

The summons served to the Prince also name 12 other people, including&nbsp;former Saudi royal court adviser Saud al-Qahtani, former deputy head of military intelligence Ahmed al-Asiri, top aide of MBS Bader al-Asaker, and two American citizens&nbsp;Layla Abuljadayel (Massachusetts)&nbsp;and Yousef al-Rajhi (Virginia).

"Few alive know more about Defendant bin Salman than Dr Saad," the lawsuit read.

"Few places hold more sensitive, humiliating, and damning information about Defendant bin Salman than the mind and memory of Dr Saad—except perhaps the recordings Dr Saad made in anticipation of his killing," the lawsuit read.

Jabri filed the case after his two children, Sarah and Omar, were arrested, and later disappeared,&nbsp;in March, which was followed by Jabri's brother's arrest in May.

The US court has warned the prince that if he does not appear in the court at the mentioned date and time, the&nbsp;"judgment by default will be entered against you for the relief demanded in the complaint."

A State Department of thee&nbsp;US has backed Jabri saying,&nbsp;"Saad al-Jabri was a valued partner to the United States on countering terrorism. Saad's work with the United States helped save American and Saudi lives."

It's been three years since the Saudi Palace coup, but it looks like crown prince Mohammed bin Salman is not yet done removing all possible opponents.&nbsp;

Mohammed bin Nayef is a member of the Saudi royal family. He is 60 years old.&nbsp;Nayef is the grandson of Saudi Arabia's founding monarch, King Abdulaziz that means he is a cousin of Mohammad bin Salman.

Nayef was appointed crown prince by King Salman in April 2015,&nbsp;back then he was already serving as the interior minister of Saudi Arabia.

Two years later, he was asked to step aside and make way for his cousin&nbsp;Mohammad bin Salman.&nbsp;Nayef also lost the interior ministry&nbsp;while at the office&nbsp;Nayef was seen as the most pro-US leader. He played a major role in Saudi Arabia's internal security policies and was called 'the prince of counter-terrorism' for his crackdown on Al Qaeda.

He is a prominent member of the Saudi royal family and&nbsp;enjoys support at home and abroad both factors&nbsp;do not go down too well with Mohammad bin Salman. The crown prince has cracked down on any leader who he views as a threat to his power. The clampdowns have been rather ruthless&nbsp;and Shakespearean.

There was no way a leader as prominent as bin Nayef was going to be an exception. Mohammed al Nayef was detained in March.

No one knows where he is currently being held. MBS' men have been trying to dig dirt on Nayef. They seem to have found a sheep in former intel officer Saad al-Jabri.

He is a friend of Bin Nayef, and he is currently in exile in Canada. According to reports, Jafri led a network of officials who misspent $11 billion in government money. The money was from the interior ministry fund. Experts say Saudi authorities want to accuse bin Nayef of being involved in Jabri's alleged corruption.
