Filmmaker, animator, and manga artist Hayao Miyazaki's next and apparently final film will release without any 'frills' that have become a norm in today's time to promote upcoming films. Miyazaki's film will be released without any trailer. It will also not be marketed nor will any promotional material be shared for the press.&nbsp; 
 
In an interview with Japanese magazine Bungei Shunju, producer Toshio Suzuki said the film, titled How Do You Live?, would be released with “no trailers or TV commercials at all … no newspaper ads either.”&nbsp; 
 
“Deep down, I think this is what moviegoers latently desire," the producer added.&nbsp; 
 
How Do You Live? is due to be released in Japan on 14 July. While the makers have opted for a no-promotion strategy, ardent fans are not entirely devoid of information. Studio Ghibli, the film’s production house, released a poster for it in December, and Miyazaki revealed some details about the film way back in 2017 in an interview. The maker had stated that the film was inspired by the 1937 novel of the same name by Genzaburō Yoshino.

Miyazaki reportedly started working on the film in 2016 after coming out of a previously announced retirement following the release of his last completed feature, The Wind Rises.&nbsp;

Miyazaki then completed work on a short film called Boro the Caterpillar for the Studio Ghibli Museum- which was first screened in 2018. There were plans to make it a full-length feature-length version of the same project but there has been no confirmation on its release date so far.&nbsp; 
 
Miyazaki won the Best Animated Film Oscar in 2003 for Spirited Away. He also got nominated twice for Howl’s Moving Castle in 2006 and The Wind Rises in 2014. He was given an honorary Oscar in 2015.

The artwork, which is the first totally AI-drawn manga in Japan, has sparked concerns about the potential danger that technology may pose to jobs and copyright in the country's multibillion-dollar comic book industry.

A skilled artist would have needed a year to write the more than 100-page comic, but the author, who goes by the pen name Rootport, finished it in just six weeks.

Although experts suggest copyright violations are rare if AI art is created using basic text instructions and minimal human creativity, some Japanese lawmakers have expressed worries about artists' rights.

Others have cautioned that the technology would oust younger manga artists, who painstakingly paint background graphics for each scene, from their professions.

Japan, the land of anime and manga which enjoys great readership all over the world, will be getting its first high school “manga studies” department in the country, local authorities announced on Monday.

The department is expected to come up at Kumamoto Prefectural Takamori High School in the town of Takamori as early as spring 2023, the Kumamoto Prefectural Board of Education said.

The move is aimed to revitalize the school by tapping both the public and private sectors to give students the opportunity to learn directly from industry experts, including professional manga artists.

Manga—commonly referred to as comics all over the world—are a part of Japanese popular culture, constituting a large market&nbsp;worth almost 613 billion Japanese yen in 2020.

Manga is a type of comic specifically produced in Japan which follows a certain style that was developed in the country as a mixture of Japanese and foreign influences.&nbsp;

According to the prefectural education board, there are already university departments and special high school courses where students can study manga to an expert level, but establishing an entire high school department dedicated to the craft is a first in Japan.

During the partnership agreement signing ceremony held at the Kumamoto Prefectural Government headquarters on September 8, Coamix board member Shuichi Mochida said, “We'd like to lay out a framework under which students can make their professional debut while attending the school.”

Prefectural education board head Yoichi Koga added, “We'll proceed with the preparations so that it (the new department) can become a model for enhancing the appeal of prefectural high schools.”

According to an estimate, France represents about 40% of the European manga market published in the country. In the United States, manga comprises a small (but growing) industry.

Apart from the US and Europe, manga reportedly enjoys great readership in other English-speaking nations like Canada, Australia and New Zealand with manga being quite popular in Australia compared to other English speaking countries.

Critics have given lukewarm reviews to the movie, whose release date has been postponed twice.&nbsp;

"There's a lot riding on it but you never know if it does really well, people come out to see it and people want more, you've wanted to make sure you`ve got your bases covered," Rodriguez said.
