It’s not just the colour that’s different but the design too. The new passport does not have the words European Union on the front cover and back cover carries on embossment featuring the floral emblems of England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales.

The Home Office said the manufacturing carbon footprint of the passports will be reduced to net zero through projects such as planting trees. And it will carry an updated security feature to keep personal information secure and involve secure printing and design techniques to combat identity theft and forgery.

British Prime Minister&nbsp;Boris&nbsp;Johnson&nbsp;and his girlfriend Carrie Symonds announced on Saturday they are expecting their first child together and are engaged to be married.

UK issues rare 'danger to life' warning over Storm Dennis

Police shot dead a man in south London on Sunday after two people were stabbed in what police described as a terrorism-related incident.

Some witnesses said the man had been armed with a machete. One described him as wearing silver canisters on his chest.

Police said the man they had shot had been pronounced dead. They said two people had been wounded in the attack in Streatham, a busy residential district south of the River Thames.

"We await updates on their condition," police said, adding the scene of the incident was now fully contained.

"The circumstances are being assessed; the incident has been declared as terrorist-related," the police said on Twitter.

A Western security source said the incident was related to Islamist militancy.

The local member of parliament, Bell Ribeiro-Addy, said one of the wounded was seriously hurt.

Sky News quoted Gulled Bulhan, a 19-year-old student from Streatham, as saying he witnessed the shooting in front of a shop.

Police shoot man dead after London stabbing incident described as terrorism

After an Islamist extremist stabbed two people in London yesterday, the British government has promised strict action against not only the perpetrator, but also an overhaul&nbsp;to the system. Additionally, the government added that they would be stringent with people who were released from prison after being convicted for terrorism-related charges.

The police yesterday shot Sudesh Amman, 20, at the busy Streatham High Road. He was allegedly wearing a fake suicide vest.&nbsp;

AFP reported that Amman was released from prison earlier than expected and was serving time for terror offences.

Indian diplomats and British Indians have sounded alarm bells fearing violence and damage to the Indian High Commission building in London.

According to reports, the 'Rise for Kashmir' protest will take place outside the Indian High Commission on January 26.

Sources say, all representatives of Pakistan's political parties in the UK were privy to these planned protests.

UK authorities have said they will review security arrangements closer to the protest day after being prodded by Indian diplomats in London.&nbsp;

The office of Mayor of London told WION, "The power to ban marches lies with the Home Secretary. The mayor was deeply upset about the previous violence, aggression and hostility. Anyone who acts unlawfully will be accountable to the police.”

The president of Tehreek-e-Kashmir in the UK denied that the protesters were paid or that Pakistan had any involvement.

He rather said that this is a protest by British Kashmiris and Sikhs without the involvement of any political parties, adding that there will not be any violence and that they were expecting around 2,000 to 3,000 people.

British Indians concerned about the security of the officials and the mission's building have requested the UK authorities to change the venue of these protests.

It is important to note here that it's not for the first time when protests are taking place at the Indian Embassy in London, UK.&nbsp;

Protests against the abrogation of Article 370 rocked the Embassy last year as well. The violent protests took an ugly turn when the embassy building was vandalised.
