The unknown sender has threatened dire consequences to Salman Khan if the demand&nbsp;is not met.&nbsp;

The Traffic Police reported the matter to the Worli Police, which registered an offence and started tracking the sender.

The incident comes two days after the Mumbai Police arrested a 20-year-old man from Noida in Uttar Pradesh for allegedly issuing death threats to Salman Khan and NCP leader Zeeshan Siddique. The man was arrested on Monday.

"The accused initially sent a threatening message on MLA Zeeshan Siddique's helpline number and later made a voice call on it, in which he issued a death threat to Siddique and actor Salman Khan. Jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi's enmity with Salman Khan is now well known. While Salman has denied the allegations, Lawrence's cousin claimed that the actor tried to end the matter by offering the community a 'blank cheque' years ago.

Trudeau says India ‘attacking’ me personally; Canada police allege New Delhi-Bishnoi gang collaboration

Politician Baba Siddique's assassination has left the entire Bollywood in shock. Jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has been named as a suspect mastermind by the Mumbai police in the case. The police have also reportedly given security to stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui. The police have alleged that Furuqui might be the next target for the Bishnoi gang.&nbsp;

A police officer said they received information about a potential threat to the comedian from the gang and while the reason for the threat is still unclear, the police are working to find out more.

The revelation about another celebrity being targeted by the Bishnoi gang comes after the police arrested three suspected members of the gang since Saturday night when Siddqiue was gunned down by three&nbsp;men in Mumbai's Bandra area.&nbsp;

According to a report by India Today, new details emerged during a National Investigation Agency (NIA) interrogation, where Bishnoi, who is in jail, revealed his gang’s hit list. This extensive list has several prominent names, including comedian and Big Boss 17 winner Munawar Faruqui.

<h2>Why is Munawar on Bishnoi's hit list?</h2>

Over the past few years, Faruqui has faced allegations from Hindu groups claiming that he hurt their sentiments during one of his shows. He was even jailed for a month in 2021 for making jokes about Hindu deities. The comedian has firmly denied the allegations.&nbsp;

Security has been heightened around the comedian recently after a few members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang allegedly attempted to target him during his visit to New&nbsp;Delhi in September.&nbsp;

According to reports, two members of the Bishnoi gang trailed Faruqui and even booked a room in the same Delhi hotel where he was staying for an event. However, due to prompt action by an intelligence agency, the attack was foiled, and the comedian was quickly escorted to safety under police cover, a source told the publication.

In response, the Mumbai Police has since increased security around the stand-up comedian as a preventive measure.

Investigations by NIA have also revealed that the gang has over the years expanded its “mafia-style criminal networks” across several states in the country.

These networks are said to have been involved in several high-profile crimes, including the murder of well-known Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala in May 2022, and they engaged in extensive extortion from businesses and professionals.

According to the NIA, the syndicate's plots are allegedly coordinated from overseas, particularly in Canada, or directed by leaders sitting inside Indian prisons.

Shots were fired outside singer-rapper AP Dhillon's house in Vancouver, Canada, on Monday. A video of the alleged shooting has surfaced after it was reported first on social media that shots were fired outside Dhillon's bungalow. It further claims, "The house in Victoria Island belongs to AP Dhillon. He was showing off after casting Salman Khan in his song. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) revealed in court on Wednesday (Aug 7) that the interviewee was in police custody at the time of the recording.

Earlier in December last year, the court had described Lawrence Bishnoi’s in-custody interview as “glorifying crime and criminals” and a matter of grave concern.

Bishnoi is charged with the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala. His name is reportedly mentioned in over 71 cases in total, including a conviction in at least four cases.

Once the plot was executed, they were told to flee to Kanniyakumari from where they were to escape to Sri Lanka. This comes after two bike-borne men fired multiple rounds of bullets outside Salman Khan's Galaxy Apartments in Bandra on April 14. A total of six arrests were made in the case, out of which Anuj Thapan, one of the accused, died by suicide in custody. Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi's brother Anmol Bishnoi allegedly took responsibility for the incident.

The diplomatic ties between India and Canada are currently witnessing an all-time low after Ottawa accused New Delhi's involvement in the killing Khalistan separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in June last year.

India, however, has strongly rebuffed Canada's claim that Indian agents were involved in the murder, dubbing them "baseless" and "absurd".

Nijjar was shot dead outside a Gurdwara in Surrey, British Columbia, on the evening of June 18, 2023.

He was designated a terrorist by India's National Investigation Agency (NIA) in 2020.

<h2>'Safe haven for terrorists'</h2>

There have been many instances in the past where India has raised concerns to Canada about the growing sentiment of separatism and the Khalistani threat.

Earlier, India's Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) had underlined how terrorists were being provided a safe haven abroad, calling for the government of Canada to act upon it.

"Terrorism is being funded and supported by our western neighbour Pakistan, but the issue of safe havens and places to operate are being provided abroad, including in Canada," the then MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi had said.&nbsp;

"We would want the Canadian government to not provide safe havens to terrorists and to take action against those who are facing terrorism charges or send them here to face charges," he added.

He then asserted that Canada was one of those countries that needed to contemplate its international reputation.

"If you talk about reputational damage, it is Canada that needs to look at its growing reputation as a place, as a safe haven for terrorists, for extremists, and for organized crime," Bagchi said.
