Barcelona have won 11 league games this season but this became the third they have failed to take three points from without teenage winger Lamine Yamal.

Coach Hansi Flick said he would challenge his side to win without the injured 17-year-old wing wizard and it seemed like they were managing it until their spectacular late crumble.

Barcelona are five points clear of Atletico Madrid at the top of La Liga, with champions Real Madrid, third, playing on Sunday at Leganes.

"We had the game under control but the red card had a big impact on us and they scored two goals in two moves and we have to learn from that," Barcelona midfielder Gavi told DAZN. "The first goal was so stupid, we have to clear the ball there, but it's football and we have to learn from it, with one man less it's hard."

Gavi made his first start in over a year after recovering from a severe knee injury.

"I'm happy, after a year, but the truth is the important thing was the three points and it wasn't possible," added the 20-year-old.

Flick shifted Raphinha into Yamal's position on the right, using Dani Olmo on the left and Pedri in attacking midfield.

Raphinha opened the scoring in the 15th minute, slotting home neatly to continue his fine form after Kounde lofted a ball forward for him.

Barcelona left-back Gerard Martin was issued an early booking and lived on the edge in the first half, nudging over Iago Aspas as he ran through but just about staying on the right side of the law.

The defender then fouled Aspas before half-time and was lucky to escape a second booking as Celta's captain fumed and was issued a yellow card himself for his outburst.

Flick brought off Martin at the break for Hector Fort, fearing a potential dismissal.

<h2>'Inexplicable'</h2>

Hunting for Barcelona's second, Lewandowski had produced a fine lobbed finish in the first half but the goal was chalked off for offside.

The forward was not to be denied though and just after the hour mark he stroked home Barcelona's second after Raphinha played him in.

It was the 36-year-old striker's 15th league goal of the campaign, further extending his vast lead as La Liga's top scorer.

Inaki Pena made a handful of saves for Barcelona, denying Hugo Alvarez with his leg.

Asked about the events and the victim's possible release date from hospital, the source did not wish to say more.

Three people were arrested Wednesday night and were being questioned at Mataro police station, while a fourth was taken into custody at 0900 GMT Thursday morning.

Yamal pulled Barcelona back into the game just before half-time, becoming La Liga's youngest ever goalscorer in the process at 16 years and 87 days. Xavi Hernandez's side levelled with three minutes remaining when substitute Sergi Roberto turned home, but they could not find a late winner in a high-octane finale.

It was the third comeback they have made in recent weeks, beating Celta Vigo from two goals down and twice falling behind at Mallorca in another 2-2 draw.

"I think we totally dominated, we created chances, we deserved more, but (we drew) because of our own mistakes, we can't start off in that way," Xavi told DAZN. "We take away a point, which for us, is not enough."

Barcelona's night was also marred by a knee injury to Jules Kounde, with the Catalans already tending to Robert Lewandowski, Frenkie de Jong, Pedri and Raphinha in the treatment room.

Gavi forced a save at the other end and Joao Felix fired wide as Barcelona hunted for the equaliser.

Zaragoza doubled the hosts' lead at the Nuevo Los Carmenes stadium with a brilliant individual goal, leaving Kounde wobbling before finishing sublimely with the outside of his boot into the top corner.

"He's a player who is not easy to stop when he's sprinting," admitted Xavi.

Barcelona found a route back into the match in first-half stoppage time when Felix prodded the ball into Yamal's path just a couple of yards out and he rolled home to break yet another record.

However, there was no time for Spain's youngest ever player and goalscorer, to celebrate. Barcelona sought the equaliser, with Gundogan forcing a good stop from Andre Ferreira and Ronald Araujo hammering inches wide.

Eventually it came through Sergi Roberto, who turned home Alejandro Balde's low cross, while Granada complained about a collision earlier in the move they wanted called as a foul.

Zaragoza almost claimed his hat-trick as the hosts responded furiously, but he crashed a shot off the post as the game flew end-to-end.

Felix headed in what he thought was the winner and Xavi leapt for joy on the touchline, but Ferran Torres, who did not touch the ball yet was ruled to be interfering with play, was offside.

"The feeling is that just as easily as they ruled it out, they could have given it ... Ferran is not interfering with anyone," said Xavi.

Granada coach Paco Lopez said he was proud of his team and that he hoped 22-year-old winger Zaragoza would keep his feet on the ground.

"I congratulate my team and my players, I can't ask for more from them," Lopez told DAZN. "We have to keep cool heads with (Zaragoza), because he's got out of the ordinary talent but has to work hard."

La Liga: Lamine Yamal creates history but Barcelona lose ground in title race despite draw against Granada

Barcelona's 16-year-old forward Lamine Yamal received a first senior call-up for Spain, as manager Luis de la Fuente named his squad on Friday for next week's Euro 2024 Group A matches against Georgia and Cyprus. Yamal has established himself as an important part of Barca's forward line in the early stages of the season, and was named man of the match in last weekend's 4-3 come-from-behind win at Villarreal in LaLiga.

Yamal, who has a Moroccan father, was born and raised in Spain. He is a Spain youth international and his call-up for the senior side will end the hopes of Moroccan fans that he could be persuaded to switch allegiance.

"We met him in Barcelona. He was a stalwart of Spain's youth teams and is a footballer with exceptional power. He looks like he has been touched by the wand of God. He is different," De la Fuente told a press conference on Friday. "We look at the level of the player, not the age. He is ready to compete at the highest level. He is a very important asset for the future."

Real Madrid's new-recruits, goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga and forward Joselu, were included, but there was no recall for goalkeeper David de Gea, who is still a free-agent after leaving Manchester United earlier this summer.

The winger replaced Gavi with four minutes plus stoppage time remaining to make his debut at 15 years, nine months and 16 days old.

"He's got innate talent in the final third which is difficult to find," Xavi told reporters. "He doesn't seem like he's 15 years old, he's more mature than his years. I've seen him train and he's showed it.
