The footage of the scuffle, filmed by the man's daughter, shows him smiling nervously as a few hits get exchanged between both sides.

"My dad was just trying to make sure that kangaroo stopped getting frisky with that lady," his daughter wrote on TikTok while sharing the video.

The video shows the kangaroo following a woman, which was when the man intervened in order to help her. When he reached out to stop the animal, the kangaroo stood up and started jumping and clawing at the man.

Finally, a zookeeper intervened and told the kangaroo, “Cut it out, cut it out, naughty boy,” while pointing at it, after which the animal calmed down and stopped fighting.

They say it will be kinder to cull them than let them starve if El Nino brings with it another bout of a devastating drought.&nbsp;

According to experts, during the last drought in Australia, kangaroos across the outback suffered a fate worse than death, dying in the most 'fateful' ways.&nbsp;

“The last drought we estimated that 80 or 90 per cent of the kangaroos in some areas died.&nbsp;They are starving to death – going into public toilets and eating toilet paper, or lying on the road starving while their joeys are trying to feed,”&nbsp;ecologist Katherine Moseby was quoted as saying by the news agency.&nbsp;

“It keeps the numbers down so that when we do get drought, we don’t get these welfare issues,” she said. “If we saw them as a resource and managed them like that, we wouldn’t get the catastrophic deaths that we see.”

A police officer stated that the unidentified man was discovered by a relative on Sunday (September 11) afternoon at his home in the southern town of Redmond, Western Australia, with severe injuries.

The officer said that the kangaroo is thought to have assaulted the man earlier in the day. The man passed away at the spot despite the medical crew's fast arrival. Because of the kangaroo, the ambulance personnel were unable to reach the injured man.

The animal was posing a continuous threat to emergency responders and had to be shot and killed, said police. The department believed that the man was keeping a wild kangaroo as a pet.

Another similar incident took place in Lucknow, where a retired teacher was fatally assaulted by her American Pit Bull Terrier. The woman died from her injuries in the ambulance on her route to the hospital.&nbsp;
