<p>Hollywood star Josh Brolin says he had more fun in playing villainous Thanos in the last two Avengers films while his role of Cable in 'Deadpool 2' felt harder despite being funny.<br />

During an interview with James and Roger Deakins on this week's episode of the 'Team Deakins' podcast, Brolin said acting in 'Deadpool 2' felt like 'more of a business transaction' as he had to tailor his performance to suit the specific comedic tone of the franchise.<br />

Thanos, with his obsession for balance in the universe, on the other hand, gave him more room to experiment.<br />

"I mentioned Brando in 'Apocalypse Now,' this guy who is very elusive and insane but what he is saying makes sense and is poetical," Brolin said.<br />

"I started seeing the parallel which I liked for me. I loved being able to resort to a film like 'Apocalypse Now' when I was doing something like 'Avengers.'"<br />

Though Brolin's Thanos was created with the help of the motion capture technology, to the actor it felt like he was tapping into someone who felt like a 'real guy'.<br />

"This is not a big purple guy this is a guy with insides and cells and feelings. Then it became fun. To me, it was like going to do 1970s black box theater in New York. You totally resort to your imagination. It is absolutely behavioral, if not more than other movies," the actor said.<br />

"'Deadpool' was hard. Even though it was funny, it was harder. That was more of a business transaction, it was more, 'We need to make this like this,' which I didn't feel that way with 'Avengers.' With those directors, they would constantly go back and reference 'Scarface' or 'Dog Day Afternoon.' Whether or not it was a manipulation, they knew what to throw out there to bring it back into something inspired."<br />

Marvel star Josh Brolin aka Thanos who played the main evil in ‘Avengers Endgame’ and “Avengers Infinity War’ also took out time to reflect on his stand on the film and you have to read it.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In his lengthy post, Josh wrote that the Todd Philips directorial emphasis on problems of the society and makes you contemplate on a lot of things. He started with, "To appreciate “Joker” I believe you have to have either gone through something traumatic in your lifetime (and I believe most of us have) or understand somewhere in your psyche what true compassion is (which usually comes from having gone through something traumatic, unfortunately). An example of dangerous compassion would be to, say, make a film made about the fragility of the human psyche, and make it so raw, so brutal, so balletic that by the time you leave the theatre you not only don’t want to hurt anything but you desperately want an answer and a solution to the violence and mental health issues that have spun out of control around us. This film makes you hurt and only in pain do we ever want to change. It’s all in the irony of trauma — a fine line between the resentment of wanting to hurt society back for raping you of a decent life, for not protecting you, and accepting what feels like alien feelings with softening to those others who seem freakish in our era of judgment, and digital damnation."</p>

<p>Furthermore, he added, "Like kids in Middle School: man, they can just be mean. For no reason. And, sometimes, those awful little clicky kids breed an evil in someone that rages much later, when everyone pretends we are all back to normal, when we all thought it had just manned up and gone away. We have a habit of hating and ostracizing and dividing and sweeping our problems under the rug. Joker, is simply lifting the rug and looking underneath it. Nothing more. Nothing less. It’s there."</p>

It’s all in the irony of trauma — a fine line between the resentment of wanting to hurt society back for raping you of a decent life, for not protecting you, and accepting what feels like alien feelings with softening to those others who seem freakish in our era of judgment, and digital damnation." And, sometimes, those awful little clicky kids breed an evil in someone that rages much later, when everyone pretends we are all back to normal, when we all thought it had just manned up and gone away. There are so many cultural references, so many jabs taken on issues ranging from sexism to racism, with its leading man Ryan Reynolds not even sparing his own past work, that Deadpool 2 ultimately turns out to be meta on too many levels.&nbsp;<br />

For those who have watched the original film<em> Deadpool</em> (2016) would know that this superhero is one of a kind. He is sarcastic, snarky, and definitely not your usual friendly neighbourhood hero. But that's perhaps why Deadpool is more relatable. He skips the jargons and dives straight into actions. And <em>Deadpool 2 </em>wastes no time in showing brutal violence. The first scene begins with a blast and a flashback where Deadpool explains how he has been fighting the toughest of the goons all over the world.&nbsp;</p>

Russel's powers are so raw and dangerous that a lot of people want him dead- including time traveller Cable.&nbsp;</p>

<p>With quick repartees, lots of below the belt jokes and a whole lot of hilarious lines, <em>Deadpool 2</em> lives up to the hype and more. It's just how you would expect it to be. Quirky, sharp and full of jibes. The potty-mouthed superhero manages to impress. But there is so much packed into the film, including some famous cameos, that after a point it can become a tad exhausting. Also, a lot of jokes are made at the expense of <em>X-Men</em> franchise, so if you haven't watched the <em>X Men </em>series, it would be a good idea to catch up with that first.&nbsp;</p>

Reynolds, who is also a co-writer of the film, literally owns every scene he is part alibi behind a mask. Brolin as Cable appears to be a bit flat in certain scenes. I thought he made a far greater impact as Thanos in<em> Avengers Infinity War.</em> Zazie Beetz as Domino is impressive.&nbsp;</p>

The film's success ensured that the writers and director David Leitch stick to the tried, tested, outrageous plot line. So yes, the gags, the sarcastic repartees are also in place, but the surprise element is missing.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Tom Holland, Benicio del Toro, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Anthony Mackie, Karen Gillan, Dave Bautista, Pom Klementieff and Chadwick Boseman and co-director Joe Russo were also part of the star-studded panel.&nbsp;</p>
