Donald Trump has insinuated that President Joe Biden may have been under the influence of drugs during his State of the Union (SOTU) address last month. The former Republican presidential candidate made these comments during an interview with radio broadcaster Hugh Hewitt on Thursday (April 4). Referring to reports of cocaine being found in the White House in July last year, Trump claimed, without offering evidence, that Biden was "all jacked up" and "higher than a kite" during his March address.

When asked if he thinks that Joe Biden was using cocaine,&nbsp;Trump&nbsp;said, "I think what happened is, you know, that white stuff that they happened to find, which happened to be cocaine in the White House, I don't know, I think something's going on there".

"I watched his State of the Union, and he was all jacked up at the beginning. By the end, he was fading fast. There's something going on there. I want to debate. And I think debates, with him, at least, should be drug tested. I want a drug test," he continued.&nbsp;

When asked by the host if he is suggesting that the US President used cocaine, Trump responded,&nbsp;&nbsp;"I don't know what he's using, but that was not, hey, he was higher than a kite".

"But he's obviously, he's being helped in some way, because most of the time, he looks like he's falling asleep. And all of a sudden, he walked up there and did a poor job. But he was all jacked up," Donald Trump added.&nbsp;

Reacting to Trump's comments, Biden campaign spokesperson Ammar Moussa said it was a "weird outburst." He encouraged voters to focus on Trump's plans to deport people and separate families, and his false claims about the election. Moussa also suggested that Trump's campaign is struggling because his ideas don't appeal to voters.

‘I want a drug test’: Trump says Biden was ‘higher than kite’ at State of the Union address

US President Joe Biden has done it again. The 81-year-old fumbled in his latest speech, and in a 'senior moment', once again echoed a false claim he has been repeating for around five years.&nbsp;

Speaking during a White House event marking Greek Independence Day, Biden repeated the debunked claim about travelling 17,000 miles with Chinese Premier Xi Jinping.&nbsp;

Not only that, the leader appeared to have forgotten his own name and referred to the 'O'Biden&nbsp;administration.

<h2>17,000 miles</h2>

Speaking during the event, Biden retold an anecdote about a conversation he had with President Xi, where the Chinese premier asked him to define America.

"I was once asked by Xi Jinping, and I travelled 17,000 miles with him — I was out at the Tibetan plateau. He looked at me, and he said, 'can you define America?' I could say the same thing if he asked me to define Greece."

"I said, 'yes…one word' and I mean this sincerely, it's recorded, I said, 'possibilities'."

This claim has earned Biden a 'bottomless Pinocchio' rating from the Washington Post due to its repeated use.

The origins of this 17,000-mile figure are dubious at best. As per the Daily Mail, the White House has not clarified its origin, which though based on Biden's actual travel with Xi seems exaggerated.

<h2>'O'Biden administration</h2>

The speech also included another embarrassing moment when Biden mistakenly referred to the 'O'Biden administration&nbsp;instead of Obama, leading to laughter from the crowd.

These latest gaffes add to a series of embarrassing incidents for the US president, including a recent denial of a scathing DOJ report questioning his "diminished faculties and a faulty memory".

Biden's latest 'senior moment': Repeats debunked claims, seemingly forgets his own name during speech

For the first time after the violent October 7 attacks, the security cabinet of Israel agreed to reopen the Erez crossing between the country and northern Gaza.

Israeli officials have agreed to open the crossing to ensure that more humanitarian aid is entering Gaza. The approval for using the Israeli Port of Ashdod was also given by the cabinet to help transfer more aid to Gaza.

“Israel will allow the temporary delivery of humanitarian aid through Ashdod and the Erez checkpoint” to “prevent a humanitarian crisis and... ensure the continuation of the fighting”, as per a government statement.&nbsp;

The statement, which was issued after midnight, further read, "This increased assistance will prevent a humanitarian crisis and is essential to ensure the continuation of the fighting and achieve the objectives of the war. In light of this, Israel will allow the temporary provision of humanitarian aid through Ashdod and Erez Crossing and increase Jordanian aid through Kerem Shalom."

This unprecedented step was taken by Israel hours after United States President Joe Biden's 30-minute conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the wake of the killing of the World Central Kitchen's seven aid workers in Gaza which has led to an international fury over Israel's actions.&nbsp;

The opening of three aid corridors was requested by President Biden in the conversation and approved by the Israeli government, CBS News reported earlier.

<h2>US warns Israel to take 'concrete steps' to protect civilians&nbsp;</h2>

United States President Joe Biden, in a stark statement, warned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday (April 4) that Gaza's overall humanitarian situation is unacceptable and asked Tel Aviv to immediately take steps to address the issue or face consequences.

This was the first conversation between the two leaders since seven aid workers from the World Central Kitchen were killed in an Israeli strike in Gaza.

“President Biden emphasised that the strikes on humanitarian workers and the overall humanitarian situation are unacceptable,” said the White House, in a statement after the call ended.&nbsp;

“He made clear that US policy with respect to Gaza will be determined by our assessment of Israel’s immediate action on these steps," the statement added.

Biden further added that Israel needed to “announce and implement a series of specific, concrete, and measurable steps to address civilian harm, humanitarian suffering, and the safety of aid workers.”

Secretary of State Antony Blinken, speaking after the call in Brussels, cleared the stance of the United States.&nbsp;“If we don’t see the changes that we need to see, there’ll be changes in our own policy,” Blinken said.&nbsp;

White House National Security Council spokesman John, however, clarified that the US support for "Israel's self-defence remains iron-clad. The United States isn't going to walk away from helping Israel defend itself. That said, you can say all that and... still believe that the manner in which they're defending themselves against the Hamas threat needs to change."&nbsp;

<h2>US welcomes newly announced Israeli measures&nbsp;</h2>

The United States welcomed the newly announced Israeli measures to increase entry of humanitarian aid in Gaza.

“These steps, including a commitment to open the Ashdod port for the direct delivery of assistance into Gaza, to open the Erez Crossing for a new route for assistance to reach north Gaza, and to significantly increase deliveries from Jordan directly into Gaza, must now be fully and rapidly implemented,” said White House National Security Council Adrienne Watson, in a statement.

“As the president said today on the call, US policy with respect to Gaza will be determined by our assessment of Israel’s immediate action on these and other steps, including steps to protect innocent civilians and the safety of aid workers,” she added.

A team of vigilante hackers known as One Fist has been recognised by Ukraine's military for their cyber-attacks against Russia. The group that has been involved in stealing data from Russian military firms and hacking cameras to spy on troops has reportedly been sent awards of gratitude for its efforts.

While many nations have official award systems for ethical hacking, this is believed to be the first time a country has awarded hackers for such actions.

<h2>Gratitude for hacking</h2>

As per a BBC report, the certificates of gratitude were sent to the hackers from eight different countries, including the UK, the US, and Poland, for their "significant contribution to the development and maintenance of vital activities of the military".

One of the hackers, US man Kristopher Kortright, aka "Voltage," told BBC he was delighted at being officially recognised.

'Voltage' said he has devoted himself to hacking for Ukraine, even at the cost of losing his job and spending all his life's savings.

"I've lost my job doing this and spent all my life savings in pursuit of a victory for Ukraine," he said, adding, "This award is a real morale-booster."

<h2>Concerns around rewarding hacking</h2>

There are concerns about the practice of states encouraging civilian hackers, especially for malicious and possibly criminal hacks.

As per Dr Lukasz Olejnik, author of Philosophy of Cyber-security, such awards can be "dangerous".

"Giving out awards may further blur the lines between combatants and civilians, and even undermine the recent call by the ICRC to limit and end the involvement of civilians in combat operations. In the long run, such an erosion is dangerous," he said.

Emily Taylor, the chief executive of Oxford Information Labs and editor of Chatham House Cyber Policy journal believes that the hacking awards are a landmark moment that might shift thinking about how cyber volunteers are used in conflicts.

"Governments usually discourage non-state actors from taking direct action in the cyber domain, for fear of escalation or unintended consequences, but wartime is often a period of extraordinary technological innovation, and the Ukraine invasion is no exception."

"Sometimes these events force a reconsideration of issues that have previously been taboo," she remarked.

Previously, in October, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) warned against the use and encouragement of civilian hackers. Emphasising the need to uphold the rules of war, it even published guidelines to reinforce them.

One of the attendees was an emergency room doctor Dr Thaer Ahmad who was in Gaza for at least three weeks.

Ahmad, who claimed that he was the only Palestinian-American present in the meeting, said "there wasn't a lot of response" from Biden. "He actually said he understood, and I walked away," said Ahmad, while speaking to CNN.

The event appears starkly different from the reception hosted by Biden last May to mark the end of Ramadan. Various attendees cheered Biden at the White House when he told them, "It's your house."

The White House has slammed the Republicans for criticising the proclamation issued by United States President Joe Biden in support of transgender people on Easter and called their comments 'misleading' and 'dishonest'.

The president's spokesperson rejected the comments made by former president Donald Trump, the House speaker and others who called Biden's proclamation "blasphemous" and said that the Transgender Day of Visibility message goes against Christianity.

Speaking to ABC News, White House spokesperson Andrew Bates said, "As a Christian who celebrates Easter with family, President Biden stands for bringing people together and upholding the dignity and freedoms of every American."

<h2>Republicans react to Biden's proclamation for transgenders</h2>

Biden, who is the second Catholic president of the United States, was subjected to a lot of criticism over the weekend after he issued a proclamation on Friday (Mar 29) honouring "the extraordinary courage and contributions of transgender Americans" for the Transgender Day of Visibility, which is marked annually on March 31.

The date of Easter, which keeps&nbsp;changing every year, fell on the Transgender Day of Visibility this year.

A statement was also issued by Biden on Sunday marking Easter which said that it "reminds us of the power of hope and the promise of Christ’s Resurrection. As we gather with loved ones, we remember Jesus' sacrifice. We pray for one another and cherish the blessing of the dawn of new possibilities."

Taking to X, Speaker Mike Johnson on Saturday (Mar 30) said that the Biden administration "has betrayed the central tenet of Easter--which is the resurrection of Jesus Christ."

The speaker further added that the conduct of Biden around Easter was "outrageous and abhorrent," which included him "proclaiming Easter Sunday as 'Transgender Day'," even though the president was actually marking a date which is being celebrated since 2009.

Trump's reelection campaign on Saturday (Mar 30) also slammed the proclamation by Biden as "blasphemous."

"We call on Joe Biden's failing campaign and White House to issue an apology to the millions of Catholics and Christians across America who believe tomorrow is for one celebration only -- the resurrection of Jesus Christ," said Trump campaign press secretary Karoline Leavitt, in a statement.

Republicans react to Biden's proclamation for transgenders Biden, who is the second Catholic president of the United States, was subjected to a lot of criticism over the weekend after he issued a proclamation on Friday (Mar 29) honouring "the extraordinary courage and contributions of transgender Americans" for the Transgender Day of Visibility, which is marked annually on March 31. The date of Easter, which keeps changing every year, fell on the Transgender Day of Visibility this year. A statement was also issued by Biden on Sunday marking Easter which said that it "reminds us of the power of hope and the promise of Christ’s Resurrection. As we gather with loved ones, we remember Jesus' sacrifice. We pray for one another and cherish the blessing of the dawn of new possibilities." Taking to X, Speaker Mike Johnson on Saturday (Mar 30) said that the Biden administration "has betrayed the central tenet of Easter--which is the resurrection of Jesus Christ." Watch: Trump & Biden's new challenger: 'Literally anybody else' The speaker further added that the conduct of Biden around Easter was "outrageous and abhorrent," which included him "proclaiming Easter Sunday as 'Transgender Day'," even though the president was actually marking a date which is being celebrated since 2009. Trump's reelection campaign on Saturday (Mar 30) also slammed the proclamation by Biden as "blasphemous." "We call on Joe Biden's failing campaign and White House to issue an apology to the millions of Catholics and Christians across America who believe tomorrow is for one celebration only -- the resurrection of Jesus Christ," said Trump campaign press secretary Karoline Leavitt, in a statement. Russia has demanded that Ukraine hand over its head of the SBU Security Service. On Sunday (Mar 31), the Russian foreign ministry demanded that Kyiv must surrender all individuals linked to terrorist activities carried out in Russia, including Vasyl Maliuk, the security service chief.

Dismissing the demand as "pointless," the SBU, as per a Reuters report, reminded the Russian ministry that the nation's President Vladimir Putin has an international arrest warrant pending against him.

<h2>Russia's extradition demand</h2>

The Russian Foreign Ministry in its statement highlighted the violent incidents in Russia since its forces invaded Ukraine in February 2022. These incidents include bombings that killed the daughter of a prominent nationalist and a war blogger; and an incident in which a writer was seriously injured.&nbsp;

"The traces of these crimes lead to Ukraine," claimed the Russian ministry.

"Russia has turned over to Ukrainian authorities its demands … for the immediate arrest and extradition of all those connected to the terrorist acts in question," said the statement.

The Russian statement demanded that Ukraine cease all support for terrorist activities, extradite the guilty parties, and compensate the victims for damages.&nbsp;

It also warned that "Ukraine's violation of its obligations under anti-terrorist conventions will result in it being held to account in international legal terms."&nbsp;

Among those listed for extradition is SBU head Vasyl Maliuk, who has previously admitted that his service was behind attacks on the bridge linking Crimea to the Russian mainland since the 2022 invasion.&nbsp;

<h2>SBU's response</h2>

The SBU responded by calling the Russian demands "cynical."

Describing Russia as a "terrorist state" it said that the demands "sound particularly cynical coming from the terrorist state itself."

"Therefore, any words from the Russian Foreign Ministry are pointless," it remarked.

Referring to the arrest warrant against Putin issued by the International Criminal Court in connection with the alleged war crimes of illegally transferring Ukrainian children to Russia, it stated that "the tribunal in The Hague is waiting for him."

<h2>Boeing's mid-air scare</h2>

Boeing has been under increased scrutiny after encountering a series of mid-flight incidents. The series of troubles started when a door of Boeing 737 Max 9, which was being operated by Alaska Airlines on January 5, blew out mid-air and forced the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to ground all 737 Max 9s.

In an investigation, it was found that the rear door of the Alaska Airlines jet had missing bolts and added to the concerns about the safety protocols of Boeing.

In another such incident, a Boeing aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing in Japan because of a crack in the cockpit window which also dented the reputation of the company.

US President Joe Biden has written a letter to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and expressed his best wishes for the newly elected government of Pakistan. Watch in for more details!

US President Joe Biden's letter to Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif

In a first, US President Joe Biden wrote a letter to Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday (March 29). In the letter, President Biden assured the newly elected Prime Minister of Pakistan that his government fully backs Shehbaz Sharif's government and that the ties between the two nations are important for bilateral and regional peace and security. "The enduring partnership between our nations remains critical to ensuring the security of our people—and people around the world—and the United States will continue to stand with Pakistan to tackle the most pressing global and regional challenges of our time," Biden wrote according to the contents of the letter shared by the US Embassy. Since Biden assumed office in 2021, there has been no communication between the US President and any of Pakistan's PMs. He neither congratulated Prime Minister Imran Khan after his victory nor called Shehbaz Sharif when he won over Imran Khan in April 2022. What did Joe Biden write in the letter? "That includes advancing our shared vision for a future of greater health security, economic growth, and access to education for all. Through our U.S.-Pakistan “Green Alliance” framework, we will also continue to strengthen our climate resilience, support sustainable agriculture and water management, and assist with Pakistan’s recovery from the devastating floods in 2022. And, the United States remains committed to working with Pakistan to protect human rights and promote progress," President Biden's letter read. "Together, we will continue to forge a strong partnership between our nations, and a close bond between our people," the letter concluded. Why is this letter important for Pakistan? Considering how Islamabad's relations with the White House have strained, this letter holds significance for Pakistan's government. The US-Pak ties have had multiple ups and downs following the withdrawal of international forces from Afghanistan. During his tenure, former Prime Minister Imran Khan blamed Washington for conspiring, in collaboration with Pakistan’s military to remove him from office through a vote of no-confidence.
