Iran is increasingly relying on Shahed drones as a key part of its retaliatory strategy across West Asia amid the ongoing conflict with the United States and Israel.

Reports indicate that hundreds of drones, many believed to be Shahed-136 variants, have been launched toward targets in Israel and across the Gulf region. These include strikes or attempted strikes in countries such as the UAE, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.

The drones, often described as low-cost loitering munitions, are designed to travel long distances before striking targets, making them difficult to intercept in large numbers. Analysts say Iran has used them in coordinated waves alongside missiles to overwhelm air defences.

Recent attacks have also targeted critical infrastructure, including oil facilities, ports and airports, highlighting the expanding geographical scope of Iran’s response.

The growing reliance on Shahed drones signals a shift toward sustained, distributed strikes across the region as the conflict continues to escalate.

Despite the destruction, authorities said there were no immediate reports of injuries. The attack marked the sixth missile launched towards Israel since midnight, underscoring the relentless pace of Iranian barrages as the regional war continues to escalate.
