Following the targeted attack on Sikh Gurudwara in the capital Kabul city, the Indian government has granted e-visas to more than 100 Sikhs and Hindus living in Afghanistan on priority basis, according to reports.

The decision was taken on Saturday late at night after the attack on Karte Parwan Gurdwara by the Islamic State terrorist group.

Two persons were killed and seven injured in the Saturday attack in the Bagh-e-Bala neighbourhood. The attack could have turned out to be a bigger tragedy if it were not for the security forces who successfully stopped an explosive-laden vehicle from reaching the shrine in the war-torn country.

Among the dead include a Sikh man in the gurdwara and a soldier from the Taliban’s Islamic Emirate Army in the crossfire.

The three attackers were later killed by the Taliban forces, the Pajhwok news agency reported.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar also strongly condemned the "cowardly attack" on the gurdwara and said the government was closely monitoring the situation following the incident.

In a message posted on its Amaq propaganda site, ISIS said that Saturday's attack targeted Hindus and Sikhs and the "apostates" who protected them in "an act of support for the Messenger of Allah", reports AFP news agency.

The group said that one of its fighters "penetrated a temple for Hindu and Sikh polytheists in Kabul, after killing its guard, and opened fire on the pagans inside with his machine gun and hand grenades".

The attack comes days after the ISKP released a video on its propaganda site warning attack on Hindus and Sikhs. The video featured now-suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma who had made controversial remarks on Prophet Mohammed on a television channel.

ISIS-K claims responsibility for Kabul gurdwara attack, cites retaliation for ‘insulting’ Prophet

The Pentagon has announced that no US troops or officials responsible will face disciplinary action for the Kabul airstrike that killed 10 Afghan civilians.

The drone strike took place in the final days of the US-led evacuation of Kabul on August 29, after the Taliban ousted the civilian government and took control of the country.

Spokesman John Kirby on Monday said that Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin had received a high-level review of the strike which made no recommendation of accountability.

“He approved their recommendations,” Kirby said. “The secretary is not … calling for additional accountability measures.”

The US officials carried out the drone strike near the international airport in Kabul against the ISIS-K militants who were readying themselves to launch another suicide attack at the Hamid Karzai International Airport.

They claimed to have successfully killed the Islamic State – Khorasan (ISIS-K militants), but a survey of the area and interview of the civilians done by WION revealed that the strike actually claimed the lives of civilians.

But the probe committee has absolved all the US troops and officials responsible for the attack.

“What we saw here was a breakdown in process, in execution and procedural events, not the result of negligence, not the result of misconduct, not the result of poor leadership,” said Kirby.

If Austin “believed … that accountability was warranted, he would certainly support those kinds of efforts”, Kirby added.

Photos posted on Twitter by pro-Taliban accounts showed the event was attended by hundreds of men. Haqqani himself was featured in several of the photos. However, his face was blurred or he was photographed from the rear.

This reportedly is being done to hide the traces of information on his whereabouts and activities, which poses a question: what is&nbsp;Haqqani afraid of?

Does the man who is in charge of the internal security of Afghanistan, and a designated terrorist behind the dreaded Haqqani Network, is afraid of US special forces or intelligence agencies?

Is every move of his being watched by US security establishment?

As per the news report, Kahana's organisation arranged for Simentov's escape. On their way out of the country, Simentov and those travelling with him had to negotiate several Taliban checkpoints.

There was a sizeable Jewish community in Afghanistan of about 40,000 people till the mid 19th century. Due to various reasons the numbers dwindled. Most of the Jews went to Israel after the country was formed in 1948.

Simentov reportedly had refused to leave Afghanistan in the beginning. However, his neighbouring convinced him to make an escape as they told him that he may become a target of, if not Taliban, then ISIS-Khorasan (ISIS-K).

As of now, the US is suspecting that these attacks have been carried out by the members of Islamic State-Khorasan. ISIS-K and Taliban have not looked eye to eye on several matters and that has often led to a bloody fight between the two, in which the Taliban has usually been declared victorious. Reportedly,&nbsp;Islamic State-Khorasan was also not very happy with the Taliban's takeover in Afghanistan.
