<p>Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi&nbsp;on&nbsp;Monday (May 13)&nbsp;visited Patna's historic Takhat Sri Harimandir Ji Patna Sahib Gurdwara&nbsp;and served a langar (a communal meal) to the Sikh devotees.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He was seen donning a saffron turban and holding a pot of kheer. The prime minister paid his obeisance in Darbar Sahib, which is the birthplace of Sri Guru Gobind Singh.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He participated in the&nbsp;ardaas&nbsp;and listened to the live kirtan in the gurudwara. The prime minister also did 'darshan' of the rare 'shastras' (weapons) which are believed to belong to Sri Guru Gobind Singh.</p>

I congratulate our jawans and senior officers. Ever since we came into government, we have fought strongly against the Naxalites. Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah also want Naxalism to end in Chhattisgarh. We are benefiting from the double-engine government," CM Vishnu Deo Sai told ANI.&nbsp;</p>

<p>An exchange of fire broke out on Friday between Naxals and security forces in the jungle near Pidiya village in Chhattisgarh. The place where gunfights broke out between the forces and Naxals falls under the limits of Gangaloor Police Station.</p>

<p>Earlier, 29 Naxals were killed and three security personnel sustained injuries in an encounter that broke out in Chhattisgarh’s Kanker, which lies in the Bastar region.</p>

<p>Union Home Minister Amit Shah congratulated the security forces for the encounter operation in Chhattisgarh in which 29 Naxalites were killed and said that the government is determined to free the country of this menace.</p>

<p>Shah said that naxalism is the biggest enemy of development, peace and bright future of youth.</p>

<p>Taking to social media platform X, Amit Shah said, "Today, the security forces killed down a large Naxalites in Chhattisgarh. I congratulate all the security personnel who made this operation successful with their bravery and wish for the speedy recovery of the brave policemen who have been injured."&nbsp;</p>

<p>A 32-year-old man in India brutally killed a minor girl and fled with her severed head after their engagement was called off by officials of the Women and Child Development Department on May 9. The girl was bludgeoned to death and later beheaded. The accused is yet to be traced by the police, local reports said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The incident took place at Surlabbi village in Kodagu district of Karnataka state.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The man was identified as Prakash. Reports mentioned that the victim girl, Meena, had just cleared her Class 10 examination this year.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The child welfare department team reached the girl's house and counselled both families after receiving the complaint. They explained that if they proceeded with the marriage, they would be subject to the provisions of the POCSO Act and the Child Marriage Act because the girl was underage.&nbsp;</p>

<p>It appears that Prakash was furious with the decision and in rage but the exact motive is yet to be ascertained. According to news agency PTI, Superintendent of Police (Kodagu), Ramarajan K, said that he entered the victim's house at 5:30 pm (local time),&nbsp;dragged her out and beheaded her and&nbsp;fled the crime scene.&nbsp;</p>

The incident took place at Surlabbi village in Kodagu district of Karnataka state. The man was identified as Prakash. Reports mentioned that the victim girl, Meena, had just cleared her Class 10 examination this year. The child welfare department team reached the girl's house and counselled both families after receiving the complaint. They explained that if they proceeded with the marriage, they would be subject to the provisions of the POCSO Act and the Child Marriage Act because the girl was underage. It appears that Prakash was furious with the decision and in rage but the exact motive is yet to be ascertained. According to news agency PTI, Superintendent of Police (Kodagu), Ramarajan K, said that he entered the victim's house at 5:30 pm (local time), dragged her out and beheaded her and fled the crime scene. "The accused is absconding, we are looking for him. We have been told that child helpline officials from the Social Welfare department had stopped the engagement.
