<p>Shah Rukh Khan admitted that it felt 'good to be back' as he won the Best Actor award at the recently held International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards.<br />

On Saturday night, Khan won the popular award for his role in the 2023 blockbuster<em> Jawan</em>. While accepting his award, Khan referred to his return to movies last year after a hiatus of four&nbsp;years.</p>

<p>"I think I have a little happiness from the audience this year because I worked (again) after a long time," he said to a packed theatre in Abu Dhabi where the IIFA awards were held over the weekend.&nbsp;<br />

He not only won the Best Actor award but also co-hosted the event in the capital of the United Arab Emirates, a city with a large Indian population.&nbsp;"I love awards, I'm greedy about awards," he announced. "I just want to tell you it's good to be back."</p>

<p>Khan's return to the big screen was Bollywood's biggest success story last year. He also starred in the spy film <em>Pathaan</em> which was a blockbuster, as was his last release of the year, <em>Dunki.&nbsp;</em></p>

<p>Shah Rukh Khan co-hosted the awards night with longtime collaborator and friend, filmmaker Karan Johar and <em>Dunki</em> co-star, actor Vicky Kaushal.&nbsp;</p>

Bobby Deol took home the Best Villain IIFA award for <em>Animal</em>.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Bobby fought back tears as fans cheered him on. Fans were also heard chanting his name. “Thank you, thank you so much. I can hear it in your voices, how much you feel that I won this award. <p>The 25th International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards will be held in Jaipur from March 7 to March 9, 2025, the show organisers announced on Sunday.</p>

<p>The announcement comes in the run-up to&nbsp;the 2024 edition of the awards, set to begin in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, for the third consecutive year from September 27.</p>

<p>An MoU was signed between Rajasthan Tourism Department and the IIFA for the silver jubilee celebrations of the IIFA Awards, to be held in the state capital next year.</p>

<p>An agreement signing ceremony was organised at the city's iconic Albert Hall in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari. Commissioner Tourism, VP Singh, signed on behalf of the tourism department, and Vice President STJ Global Entertainment and Media Suresh Iyer signed on behalf of the academy.</p>

<p>Diya Kumari said IIFA 2025 will promote tourism in Rajasthan, adding it is for the second time that the event is taking place in India. The first such event was held in Mumbai in 2019.</p>

<p>"This will certainly promote Rajasthan, its destinations, culture, and history globally. This is a momentous occasion."</p>

<p>"When film stars and directors come here and see the locations and historical places of Rajasthan, more film shootings will take place. New job and investment opportunities will be generated," the deputy chief minister told reporters here.</p>

<p>The 20th edition of the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards which was attended by scores of B-Town celebrities turned out to be a grand affair. While Ranveer Singh walked away with the best actor trophy for `Padmaavat`, Alia Bhatt won the best actress for her role in 'Raazi'.<br />

Vicky Kaushal bagged the award in the Best Performance in a Supporting Role (Male) category for `Sanju`.<br />

Since IIFA was celebrating 20 years of its existence, it went down the memory lane and honoured the best artists and cinema over the past two decades.&nbsp;<br />

IIFA had special awards which were conferred upon Deepika Padukone for 'Chennai Express', Ranbir Kapoor for 'Barfi', Rajkumar Hirani for '3 Idiots', Pritam for 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' while the film `Kaho Na Pyaar Hai` also won special award in the Best Film in the last 20 year category.<br />

IIFA Awards 2017: List of winners

<p>When it comes to taking Indian music to an international level, AR Rahman has set the bar high.&nbsp;<br />

He&#39;s the only Indian to win a Filmfare, Oscar, Grammy, Golden Globe and BAFTA award. To add to his feather, ARR recently picked up a SIIMA award in Abu Dhabi for his Tamil film &quot;Achham Yenbadhu Mmadamayadda&quot; (AYM).<br />

ARR will perform a two-hour concert in New York at the IIFA Awards on July 14 to honour 25 years of contribution to Indian music. ARR was in Delhi to promote the awards which honours Indian cinema on the global stage.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In an exclusive interview with the musical maestro, AR Rahman said, &quot;I think music is a combination for me at the same time innovation. It&#39;s [also about] not losing its earthiness, the connectivity to myself and to the listener.&quot;&nbsp;</p>

<p>A man who is not known for his words, ARR lets his music do the talking. Over the past 25 years, ARR has worn many hats besides just music composer. He can sing, write, produce, perform and entertain audiences. He&#39;s fondly known as the &quot;Mozart of Madras&quot; and made his debut with Mani Ratnam&#39;s Roja back in 1992.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The music composer has given many memorable hits after including &quot;Gentleman&quot;, &quot;Bombay&quot;, &quot;Rangeela&quot;, &quot;Indian&quot;, &quot;Minsara Kanavu&quot;, &quot;Dil Se&quot;, &quot;Taal&quot;, &quot;Lagaan&quot;, &quot;Guru&quot; and &quot;Slumdog Millionaire&quot;. A musical featuring his music, &quot;Bombay Dreams&quot;, debuted in 2002. &nbsp;</p>

<p>So how does one man create so many different genres of music from classical, sufi, pop, techno and folk? He says, &quot;When you follow simplistic rules it becomes boring so you have to dodge and find ways to do that again and again and still sound new. It&#39;s a challenge and a pleasure.&quot;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Well, the challenge has certainly paid off as directors yearn to work with ARR who is quite selective about his projects. ARR has also worked on several music videos including &quot;Maa Tujhe Salaam,&quot; &quot;Pray For Me Brother,&quot; and &quot;One Love.&quot;</p>

The concert will feature popular Bollywood singers including Hariharan, Kailesh Kher, Mika Singh, Mohit Chauhan, Jonita Gandhi, Neeti Mohan, Javed Ali, Haricharan Seshadri and Kamaal Khan. ARR says &quot;the 18th editionof IIFA in New York is very special to me and I look forward to sharing the IIFA Rocks stage with such talented names in the industry. I am honoured to be a part of the IIFA celebrations.&quot;&nbsp;</p>

<p>So what can we expect over the next 25 years when it comes to ARR&#39;s music? <p>&quot;My journey for 25 years has been about composing but I&#39;m also an educator I have got a conservatory, and also a school for under priviledged children. We have many other children open for composing and become composers and we also have a company [where] some of the alumnis want to join me and composed a TV episodical thing called &quot;Daughters of Destiny&quot; for Hollywood director Vanessa Roth. So all this stuff is happening and I wanna go 50-50 I wanna be this mentor and the composer singer.&quot;<br />

The coming together of&nbsp;the cast of movie Tiger Zinda Hai co &ndash; Salman and Katrina&nbsp;in one frame got everyone excited.
