“Investigators believe Rivera drowned in what appears to be a tragic accident,” a Ventura County Sheriff’s Office statement said. 
 
However, they are continuing the search her a day after her 4-year-old son was found alone in a rented boat. 
 
According to reports, the boy was found asleep and wearing a life vest late Wednesday afternoon. Rivera son told the investigators that he and his mother went swimming and he got back on the boat, but his "mom never made it out of the water." 
 
CCTV video taken at about 1 pm on Wednesday shows Rivera and her son leaving on the boat at Lake Piru- an activity that the mother-son had done together before.

“She had experience boating out here at the lake,” the investigating officer told the media. 
 
The boat was rented for three hours. When Rivera did not return in the said time, the vendor went out to the lake to look for the duo and found the boy sleeping inside the boat. Rivera's identification and an adult life vest were on the boat, and her car was found in a parking area. 
 
While addressing the press nearly 24 hours after the duo went to the lake, Officer Kevin Donoghue said that the effort had shifted from an attempt to rescue the 33-year-old to an attempt to recover her body. 
 
Dozens of divers,&nbsp; with help from helicopters, drones and all-terrain vehicles were involved in the search on Lake Piru, 55 miles (90 kilometers) northwest of Los Angeles in the Los Padres National Forest. 
 
In the area where the boat was found, the water was about 30 feet (9 meters) deep, authorities said. The visibility in the lake is reportedly poor making the search operations difficult. 
 
Meanwhile, Rivera's son who she shared with ex husband Ryan Dorsey has been united with his family members and is said to be safe and healthy.

AMC, the world's largest theater chain, caused a stir by initially declining to mandate face masks, saying it did not want to be "drawn into a political controversy." 
 
It did a U-turn on that policy Friday following an outcry. 
 
Everyone from indie distributors to blockbuster studios will be carefully watching to see how the experiment with new theatrical releases proceeds. 
 
"Hollywood is not a place where competitors are known for wishing each other well very often," said "Unhinged" producer Mark Gill. 
 
"And in this particular circumstance, everybody is hoping we do well." 
 
His movie bucked the industry trend, shifting its release date forward from September, as larger studios gobbled up all the prime opening slots deeper into 2020. 
 
Solstice Studios decided the lack of competing new titles, and dearth of other distractions such as major sporting events, outweighed the danger of flopping early -- which in any case is reduced for a mid-budget, $33 million movie. 
"The more we looked at it, it's risky of course, but it still looked like it was worth doing," Gill told AFP. 
 
- 'Worth the risk' - 
 
"Somebody had to go first -- it's definitely worth the risk," said Jeff Bock, a senior analyst for industry tracker Exhibitor Relations. "But I think the odds are stacked against it." 
 
While the decision to open "Unhinged" early has generated buzz -- its trailer drew 210 million views in a week -- its studio's pockets are less deep than those of its rivals when it comes to marketing, he noted. 
 
But "Unhinged" is really a "set-up for the other studios," he added, noting that the true litmus test will be the first major studio titles, including Warner Bros' $200 million-plus "Tenet," out July 31. 
 
Nolan -- its influential director who is best known for 'Inception,' 'Dunkirk' and the Batman 'Dark Knight' trilogy -- has pushed for his ambitious and secretive sci-fi thriller to stand firm with its early theater release. 
 
Still, it was recently shuffled back by two weeks, giving New York and Los Angeles screens breathing space to reopen. 
Disney's 'Mulan' is also due in July -- shortly after Disney World and Disneyland reopen -- though some analysts predict it may yet be switched to a later slot if families are seen as still nervous about going to theaters. 
 
"Word-of-mouth will be based now on not specifically which films are actually good, but which theaters are following all the guidelines," said Bock.

The guidelines were developed by a task force that included representatives from Walt Disney Co , Netflix Inc , AT&amp;T Inc`s Warner Bros and Comcast Corp`s NBCUniversal, plus unions including SAG-AFTRA, IATSE and the Directors Guild of America.

But as Hollywood grapples with the coronavirus pandemic, the red carpets of the near future will look very different - if they happen at all. 
 
Crowded with photographers, A-list stars, publicists and fans begging for selfies, red carpets are a crucial element in the Hollywood publicity machine. But what makes them so compelling to watch is what makes them so difficult to manage in the era of social distancing. 
 
"Everybody is desperate to get back to a normal version, where we get to be with people in person, shoulder to shoulder," said one Hollywood publicist who preferred not to be named. 
 
"I don`t see it coming back fully until we`ve got some kind of vaccine. Who knows when people are going to want to engage physically in personal interactions, let alone the travel to get to those places?," the publicist said. 
 
A big test will come in July when Christopher Nolan thriller "Tenet" for AT&amp;T Inc`s Warner Bros. and Walt Disney Co`s live-action "Mulan" are scheduled as the first big film releases since the new coronavirus shuttered movie theaters worldwide and studios moved the rollout of dozens of films to the end of 2020 or into 2021. 
 
Warner Bros. and Disney have not announced their publicity plans for the two movies, nor have the organizers of television`s Emmy Awards, which are due to take place in Los Angeles in September.

Los Angeles event planners 15|40 Productions, which has designed more than 200 Hollywood premieres, is consulting with several studios on plans that incorporate social distancing. 
 
"We took the red carpet and we had to re-envision how it would work post-quarantine and keeping people apart," said Craig Waldman, president of 15|40 Productions. 
 
TV crews and photographers, who usually elbow for room, would be separated into pens divided by plexiglass, while distance barriers would keep media people at least six feet (two meters) away from actors. Celebrities would interact with fans via giant LED screens. 
 
"Having a live fan element is going to be a thing for the future, once a vaccine is found," said Waldman. 
 
That means a big reduction in media outlets on the carpet, and plenty of masks. 
 
"I don`t know that we will see Emmy-nominated actresses walking the Emmy red carpet wearing masks," said Hollywood Reporter writer Chris Gardner. "I do think some people - maybe photographers, also journalists - may have to ask questions through masks." 
 
The biggest unknown is whether A-listers will turn up. 
 
Mike Zimet, whose New York security company`s client list includes actors Alec Baldwin and Lin-Manuel Miranda, says tight safeguards will need to be in place. 
 
"I know one (celebrity) I`m protecting right now is staying away from everything," said Zimet, who doesn`t expect red carpets to return in New York until fall, or possibly winter. 
 
Zimet said celebrities "have to decide if your health, of the family and yourself, is worth it." 
 
Meanwhile, publicists have been getting creative with virtual premieres and interviews in which actors appear on Zoom or Skype from their homes. 
 
It`s worked well for small-budget films, cutting travel costs and allowing actors to be more relaxed. 
 
"They are not in an uncomfortable chair with lights all around them. It`s more like chit-chatting with a sort of new friend they have just met on their computer," said a publicist who has organized several virtual events. 
 
But it`s a far cry from the excitement of a bustling red carpet. 
 
"This virtual premiere is quite, quite strange," British actress Kristin Scott Thomas said on Zoom from a sofa at home, promoting her film "Military Wives." 
 
"It`s just as frightening but just a hell of a lot more comfortable because you`re wearing your own dress," she giggled.
