A report by Reuters citing a source close to the talks said that the discussions will be in direct response to a new proposal from Hamas and will focus on the remaining gaps between Israel and the militant group.&nbsp;

Last week, Hamas proposed a new ceasefire deal to mediators and Israel’s ally the United States which would see the release of Israeli hostages in exchange for freeing Palestinian prisoners.&nbsp;

In a separate report, Reuters citing an&nbsp;Israeli official confirmed that the&nbsp;negotiators are expected in Doha, on Monday to secure a&nbsp;six-week truce with Hamas and the release of 40 hostages.

The negotiations will reportedly take&nbsp;at least two weeks, said the Israeli official citing&nbsp;difficulties communicating with&nbsp;Hamas'&nbsp;delegates in Gaza amid the ongoing war.&nbsp;

World Health Organization chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, urged Israel “in the name of humanity” to not go ahead with the assault on Rafah and warned that “this humanitarian catastrophe must not be allowed to worsen”.

More than 2.3 million people, who were living in the Gaza Strip, have been displaced due to the conflict. During aid distribution, several deadly incidents and chaotic situations have been reported as people scramble&nbsp;for food.

Palestinian health authorities on February 29 had said that Israeli forces killed more than 100 Palestinians&nbsp;who were waiting for an aid delivery near Gaza City.

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday (March 10) said that at least 13,000 "terrorists" were among Palestinians killed during the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip.

He further vowed to continue with the offensive in the south of the besieged Palestinian enclave.

Netanyahu told German media company Axel Springer that pushing Israel's military offensive into Rafah in southern Gaza was a significant move in defeating Hamas.

"We are very close to victory ... Once we begin military action against the remaining terror battalions in Rafah, it is only a question of weeks" until the intensive phase of fighting is concluded, Bild newspaper quoted Netanyahu as saying.

The move has been termed a "red line" by US President Joe Biden, who along with his aides has urged Netanyahu to not press ahead with an offensive in Rafah until he comes up with a plan for mass evacuation of civilians.

"It is a red line but I'm never going to leave Israel. The defence of Israel is still critical. So there's no red line (in which) I'm going to cut off all weapons so they don't have the Iron Dome to protect them," said Biden on being asked by MSNBC if the invasion of Rafah would be a red line.
