"We looked for him everywhere. His phone was switched off. Then police showed us a body, it was swollen, we misidentified it and performed the cremation," stated Brijesh's mother.&nbsp;

It was claimed by another relative that the man was suffering from depression.&nbsp;

The reappearance of the 43-year-old has caused major issues for the police because they are now investigating who was the person who was cremated by the family.

As per the complaint, Dilip allegedly grabbed a curtain rod and began assaulting his wife first. When the child tried to intervene, he allegedly struck her in the face and head with an iron table.&nbsp;

"The mother of the girl has registered a complaint and Dilip has been arrested,” said Krunal Desai, Assistant Commissioner of Police (I Division).&nbsp;

The accused faces charges including murder, attempt to murder, voluntarily causing hurt and causing hurt with a grievous weapon.&nbsp;

Asha Kushwah, 30, is a resident of Vinayak Park Society in Vastral and works as a tailor, as per the case details. In her complaint, she said that she and Dilip had been married for about 20 years.

After being childless for 15 years, the couple opted for IVF treatment at a hospital in Nikol in 2018 and became parents to a daughter. However, two years after the couple had their first child, a daughter, Dilip started behaving weirdly. Like questioning why they should spend money on the child, as she was not their daughter.

This allegedly led to a dispute between the couple.

On Tuesday morning, the day of the incident, Asha returned after disposing of the garbage when she found Dilip in the house and asked him why he had come.

"Agitated, Dilip started punching me in the face. He then took a steel curtain rod and hit me on the head and other parts of the body. When my daughter began screaming, he struck her with an iron table, causing her to collapse on the bed," the complaint states.

When Asha began screaming, the complaint mentioned further, Dilip chased her into the kitchen and struck her with an iron stool, intending to kill her. Hearing the noise, the neighbours gathered at the house and Dilip fled. Asha is currently undergoing treatment at LG Hospital.&nbsp;

According to the administration, others who are currently trapped in the soil will be rescued alive.&nbsp;

India: Wall collapses in Gujarat's Mehsana; 7 dead, several feared buried

The Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved the development of the National Maritime Heritage Complex (NMHC) in Gujarat's Lothal on Wednesday.

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated that the museum at Lothal will be the largest maritime heritage complex in the world.

Briefing the media after the Union Cabinet meeting, Vaishnaw said, "Today, the Cabinet approved the development of a National Maritime Heritage Complex at Lothal in Gujarat. The proposal aims to showcase India's rich and diverse maritime heritage and create the largest maritime heritage complex in the world."

The maritime project at Lothal will be completed in two phases. The Union Cabinet has granted in-principle approval for Phases 1B and 2, based on the master plan. Funds will be raised through voluntary contributions, and construction will commence once the necessary resources are secured.

The construction of the Lighthouse Museum under Phase 1B will be funded by the Directorate General of Lighthouses and Lightships (DGLL).

Phase 1A of the project is currently underway, with over 60 per cent of the physical work completed. It is expected to be finished by 2025. Phases 1A and 1B will be developed in EPC mode, while Phase 2 will be developed through land subleasing or a public-private partnership (PPP) to establish NMHC as a world-class heritage museum.

The development of the NMHC project is expected to create around 22,000 jobs, with 15,000 direct and 7,000 indirect employment opportunities.

Furthermore, the implementation of NMHC aims to boost growth and significantly benefit local communities, tourists, researchers, scholars, government bodies, educational institutions, cultural organisations, environmental and conservation groups, and businesses.

The girl’s body was found inside the school premises in a village of Singvad taluka on Thursday (Sep 19), the official said.

As per Superintendent of Police, Rajdeepsinh Zala, the school principal, Govind Nat, smothered the girl after she fended off his attempt to sexually molest her.&nbsp;

"Around 10:20 am on Thursday, the principal, who was passing by in his car, agreed to take the child to school in the vehicle at her mother's request. Students and teachers told police that the girl did not attend school that day," police told local media.

Initially, the principal insisted that he had dropped her at the school after picking her up in his car, the police official said. Upon further questioning, the principal confessed before the police that he had killed the girl.

The molester narrated the incident and said that he tried to sexually molest the girl on their way to school. When she resisted, he covered her mouth and nose to stop her from screaming, which made the girl unconscious, Zala said.

"The principal reached the school and parked his car with the girl's body inside. At 5 pm, he took out the body and dumped it behind the school building. He then planted her school bag and slippers in her classroom," Zala added.

Meanwhile, the police said the technical analysis and the time when the principal left the school in the evening made him the prime suspect, and he confessed to the crime after interrogation.

A day after the girl's body was found, her post-mortem report revealed that she died from smothering, the SP&nbsp;said.

When the child did not return home after school hours, her parents and relatives launched a search and found her lying unconscious in the compound behind the school building. The child was taken to the Limkheda Civil Hospital, where doctors declared her dead, he added.

According to Gujarat health minister Rushikesh Patel, more than 5,000 people have been rehabilitated so far, news agency ANI reported.

Earlier on Wednesday (Aug 28), Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a telephone conversation with Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and assured him of all possible support and assistance from the Union government.
