Fukrey 3&nbsp;stars Richa Chadha, Varun Sharma, Pulkit Samrat, Pankaj Tripathi, and Manjot Singh in the lead roles. The comedy-drama opened up with good numbers on Friday and witnessed excellent growth on Saturday. 
 
Looking at the first-day collection of the comedy-drama, the film minted Rs 8.82 crore (Rs 80 million) on the first day and Rs 7.8 crore (Rs 70 million) on the second day. 
 
On Saturday, the film earned Rs 11.67 crore (116.7 million), taking the total collection to Rs 28.30 crore (Rs 283 million).

Fukrey 3 box office: Varun Sharma's film witnesses excellent growth

This Friday, two much-awaited Bollywood movies were released - one was The Kashmir Files fame Vivek Agnihotri's The Vaccine War, and the second was the third instalment of the comedy film franchise Fukrey. Both films came at a time when Hindi films were again dominating the box office, and films like Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan, Ranveer Singh's Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, and Sunny Deol's Gadar 2 are attracting huge audiences back to the theatre.

SRK's Jawan ruled the box office alone for two weeks and went on to become one of the highest-grossing Hindi films. And this week we have The Vaccine War vs. Fukrey. And it seems like Pulkit Samrat's film is the winner.

Box office report: Fukrey 3 beats Vivek Agnihotri's film The Vaccine War

Mrighdeep Singh Lamba's Fukrey franchise has always been known for Hunni and Choocha's bizarre business ideas, buffoonery and situational comedy. The first film - Fukrey- came out almost a decade back and continues to be one of the most genuinely funny films of recent times. It was followed with Fukrey Returns which tried to maintain the same template but did not create as great an impact as the first one did. Making a third part in a successful franchise comes with its own challenges. It has to match up to its successful prequel and maintain the same fun element. While Lamba and the cast of Fukrey 3 manage to create the same backdrop of buffoonery, the director also manages to make a commentary on an important issue.&nbsp; 
 
The film begins with a recap of the incidents from the previous two films in a song format right when the credit roll begins. Hunni and Choocha continue to be the good-for-nothing fellas who are still earning money off Choocha's bizarre premonitions. They also run an electronic store with Pandit (Pankaj Sharma) and Laali (Manjot Singh) which is not doing good business.&nbsp; 
 
Meanwhile, Bholi Punjaban (Richa Chadha) is now hobnobbing with the influential people of the city and contesting for state elections. She is eyeing the Water Department post-win and takes the help of Hunni and the gang to gather the crowd. During the campaign, Choocha steals Bholi's thunder naturally and Hunni decides to make Choocha contest elections against Bholi much to her discontent. Amid elections and a surprise trip to South Africa, Hunni and Choocha realise they have a new talent that they can leverage and earn more money. Will they use it to win the elections forms the rest of the story.

Varun Sharma who uses a lot of physical comedy to play the naive idiot Choocha gets the meaty&nbsp;role in the film. The role has catapulted him to stardom right from the first film and Sharma is rather comfortable playing the character and its bizarre ways. The film also has Tripathi delivering the best lines. In fact, Fukrey 3 has all the elements of the first two films and I found myself laughing out loud occasionally at the buffoonery being played out by the characters. But while all the actors - Tripathi, Chadha, Sharma, Singh, and Samrat - reprise their characters to the hilt, the comedy itself becomes repetitive after a point. So much so that you get a sense of Deja <s>chu</s> vu after a point of time that you have seen these jokes being played before.&nbsp; 
 
Just when you are about to write off the repetitive humour, writer Vipul Vig gives a moralistic approach to the comedy of errors and makes a social commentary on the growing urban landscape and the scarcity of water. The twist comes after dollops of toilet humour but still manages to uplift the meandering pace of the comedy.&nbsp;

The Fukras are back! The trailer of Fukrey 3 was unveiled on Tuesday and from the looks of it, the third installment of the highly successful franchise seems like a lot of fun. The film stars Richa Chadha, Varun Sharma, Pulkit Samrat, Pankaj Tripathi, and Manjot Singh in the lead roles. Ali Fazal, who played the role of Zafar in the previous two films, won’t be joining the Fukrey gang for the third installment of the franchise. 
 
The trailer has Varun’s Choocha contesting for local elections against Richa’s Bholi Punjaban. Pulkit, Manjot and Pankaj’s characters are on Choocha’s team as they get him ready for elections but they have no idea what’s in store for them as they discover a new ‘superpower’ within Choocha. 
 
Fukrey 3 was originally scheduled to hit screens on September 7 but it was pushed to December 1 to avoid a box office clash with Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan. Eventually, the makers decided to release it on September 28. 
 
The movie has been&nbsp;produced under the banner of Excel Entertainment by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar. 
 
Farhan had previously shared quirky posters featuring the lead actors. He wrote, “Get ready for the ultimate dose of jugaad with the Fukrey gang! #Fukrey3 trailer out tomorrow.” 
 
The first film Fukrey came out in 2013 and was a super successful comedy. The makers followed up with Fukrey Returns in 2017 which too struck a chord with the audience.&nbsp; 
 
Now, fans will see beloved characters like Choocha (Varun), Hunny (Pulkit Samrat), Pandit Ji (Pankaj Tripathi), Bholi Punjaban (Richa Chadha), Lali (Manjot Singh) reunite in Fukrey 3. The film is directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba and written by Vipul Vig.
