The ranch was the backdrop to classics like <em>Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid</em>, a place where jaded Hollywood stars would be greeted by long-standing manager Imogene Hughes with a cool glass of homemade lemonade and banana bread.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Now, with Baldwin set to go on trial this week for manslaughter over an on-set death at Bonanza Creek that has drawn global headlines, Hughes's daughter is glad her late mother never had to witness the ranch's new notoriety.</p>

<p>"I think that would have really upset her," said Denise Spaccamonti.</p>

<p>Nestled in the foothills outside Santa Fe, the ranch was mainly known for its cattle operations until Hollywood came knocking in the 1950s. Location scouts chose it for <em>The Man from Laramie</em>, a 1955 Western starring James Stewart, and more movies sporadically followed.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Film operations sharply accelerated when Hughes took over the day-to-day operations after the death of her husband Glenn, often working with local politicians to lure movie producers from California with financial incentives.</p>

<p>Crews for <em>Silverado</em>, a 1985 Western starring Kevin Kline and Kevin Costner, erected a white-painted homestead building, which remained in place after the film wrapped.</p>

<p>More buildings were added in a piecemeal fashion for films like <em>Young Guns</em>&nbsp;and <em>Lucky Luke</em>, and soon entire Western town streets were in place.</p>

<p>"<em>Lucky Luke</em>&nbsp;comes to mind. It wasn't a great movie. It was terrible actually!" said Spaccamonti. "But it's kind of nice, how each movie had a part in building that... It wasn't one person. It was a bunch of puzzle pieces put together."</p>

<p><strong>- 'Insensitive' -</strong></p>

<p>But today, that legacy has taken a cruel twist. One of those hodgepodge buildings was a chapel in which, on October 21, 2021, a gun held by Baldwin discharged during a rehearsal, killing <em>Rust</em>&nbsp;cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.</p>

<p>Movie productions were temporarily shuttered at Bonanza Creek in the immediate aftermath as police investigators combed the site. They have since quietly resumed, though the identities of recent and current films are under wraps.</p>

<p>"Nobody wants to say they are shooting a movie at the same location where she was killed," said David Manzanares, field manager for nearby Ghost Ranch, where "Oppenheimer" was made.</p>

<p>Although there is no suggestion the ranch is in any way to blame, "people say, 'if it gets out, we'll be seen as insensitive, how could you film there?'" added Manzanares, a longtime friend and collaborator of Hughes. Recognisable buildings like the chapel could be "skinned" to disguise their infamous connotations in future films, he suggested.</p>

<p>Contacted by AFP, Bonanza Creek's owners declined an interview. Asked if the shooting had caused Bonanza Creek challenges going forward, Shannon Hughes, who runs the movie operation, said that was "an assumption."</p>

<p>She said Imogene Hughes's legacy "should not be involved in the 'Rust' accident... she's deceased, she doesn't get to speak for herself."</p>

How’s that math working? How do you manage all these? Yet, you have to keep making movies and creating content because you also have to feed your organization. <p>We are just two weeks into the popular reality show <em>Bigg Boss OTT 3</em> and things have already started heating up inside the BB house. In today's Weekend Ka Vaar episode, YouTuber Armaan Malik's first wife Payal Malik, who got evicted last week, will be seen returning to the show for a brief moment. What's the purpose? Well, she has entered the BB house to slam contestant Vishal Pandey for making lewd comments about Armaan's second wife Kritika Malik.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Payal slammed Vishal for telling Lovekesh Kataria that he likes Kritika and he feels guilty about it. Payal said, "You're talking about a mother and a wife, and you need to respect that. What you said about Kritika is wrong."</p>

<p>In his defence, Vishal said that his comments were taken out of context and that he did not mean anything wrong. To which, Payal responded that he shouldn't have whispered the same in Lovekesh's ears if he wasn't guilty.&nbsp;</p>

<p>After Payal left, Armaan went to Vishal to ask for clarification. As Lovekesh repeated what Vishal said, Armaan lost his calm and he tightly slapped Vishal on his left cheek. The two were later seen shouting and charging at each other as other housemates tried to break their fight.</p>

<p>There has been massive outrage against Armaan on social media platforms. Many are demanding that the YouTuber should be evicted from the house on grounds of breaking house rules, which say that two contestants cannot physically assault each other.</p>

<p>A user tweeted, "Bigg Boss needs to intervene ASAP. Things can be sorted out with discussions, too." Another wrote, "It’s very simple. If you allow violence in one season, it will be repeated in every season… every show right now is showing that hitting someone is OK and you can still stay in the game or show."</p>

<p>A third comment read, "Armaan doesn't deserve now to stay in the show because slapping the opponent doesn't give him the right to stay in Bigg Boss." "This is disgusting. What is Bigg Boss doing? Physical assault inside the house? What is happening?" said a fourth user.</p>

Modern Masters: Netflix documentary on SS Rajamouli to release on THIS date

<p>On Friday, the suspense surrounding the title of Brad Pitt's upcoming film, shot at several Formula 1 racetracks around the world, ended as the makers announced that the movie will be titled (drum rolls...)<em> F1</em>. The film will hit theatres in June next year.</p>

<p>Directed by Joseph Kosinski, whose <em>Top Gun: Maverick</em> grossed $1.49 billion worldwide, <em>F1</em> is being filmed in cooperation with F1 teams and drivers. Warner Bros. Pictures will be distributing the film in cinemas.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The makers also shared that a teaser of the film will be shared on Sunday, right before the British Grand Prix at Silverstone where filming has been taking place.</p>

<p>A magistrate Wednesday charged prominent film director Benoit Jacquot for allegedly raping actors Julia Roy and Isild Le Besco, prosecutors said, in a high-profile MeToo case that has rocked France. The charges come after a flurry of allegations against several men in the French filmmaking industry, which critics say has too long provided cover for abuse.</p>

<p>Jacquot, 77, and another filmmaker, 80-year-old Jacques Doillon, were detained for questioning on Monday over alleged sexual abuse of much younger actresses who starred in their films, charges both have denied.</p>

<p>Investigators opened a probe after Judith Godreche, 52, earlier this year filed a complaint against Jacquot for allegedly raping her during a relationship of several years that started in the 1980s, when she was 14 and he was 25 years her senior.</p>

<p>After two days of questioning, prosecutors did not request charges linked to Godreche's accusations because they were past the statute of limitations, she and her lawyer said.</p>

<p>But they did in the case of Roy, 34, and Le Besco, 41. Roy, who acted in four of Jacquot's films that came out between 2016 and 2021, had accused Jacquot of sexual assault. Le Besco had accused him of rape during a toxic relationship that began when she was a minor and he was 52.</p>

<p>An examining magistrate charged Jacquot with raping Roy during a relationship in 2013, the Paris prosecutor's office said.</p>

<p>They also charged him with "rape of a minor" against Le Besco between November 1, 1998, and November 21, 2000, the Paris prosecutor's office said. She would have been 15 at the start of this period.</p>

<p><strong>- 'Judicial cancellation' -</strong></p>

<p>Jacquot was also to be investigated over the alleged rape of Roy between 2014 and 2018 and Le Besco in 2007, the prosecutor's office said. He will be released from custody but remain under judicial supervision, preventing him from getting in touch with plaintiffs and witnesses, or carrying out any activity "linked to minors", it added. He could not work as a film director or make public appearances as such.</p>

<p>His lawyer Julia Minkowski said she would appeal the decision. "More than a professional ban, it is a real measure of judicial cancellation, on the basis of an embryonic investigation and before any judgement," she said.</p>

<p>A source close to the case said Jacquot has answered the questions of investigators but denied all charges.<br />
Roy's lawyer, Margot Pugliese, said the charges against Jacquot were "important" for her client, whose state of post-traumatic stress she described as "profound".</p>

<p>Le Besco's attorney, Benjamin Chouai, said he was happy "the judiciary had got the exact measure of the criminal acts" suspected.</p>

<p><strong>- Another director released -</strong></p>

<p>The other director, 80-year-old Doillon, was released on Tuesday evening "for medical reasons", the prosecutor's office said, adding it still had to decide on follow-up measures. This came despite mounting accusations against him.</p>

<p>Godreche had accused Doillon of sexually assaulting her during a film shoot when she was 15, when the filmmaker was in a relationship with British actress and singer Jane Birkin. Le Besco had claimed he made advances during work sessions, and another actor, Anna Mouglalis, 46, alleged the filmmaker forcefully kissed her in 2011.</p>

<p>Lawyer Laure Heinich, who has been representing Godreche, told AFP she had also filed a complaint against Doillon on behalf of a non-binary trans person identified as Joe Rohanne for three alleged rapes, as well as physical and psychological abuse.</p>

<p>Newspaper Le Monde reported that complaint as well as that of two other women against Jacquot, accusing him of rape and attempted rape respectively. Doillon's attorney declined to comment.</p>

"Despite all of that, mom, dad, and baby are happy and healthy," she added. The actress is yet to reveal her baby's birthdate, sex, and name. However, Hudgens and Tucker were seen leaving a Santa Monica hospital on Wednesday, July 3, a day which also marked Tucker's 28th birthday. In May, the actress spoke to E! News and revealed that she wishes to show her kid all of her films. "That's why I chose things along the way in my career.
