Their testimonies, swearing innocence were declared "evasive and unreliable" by the CGF&nbsp;court.

"The testimony of an Incognitus Cleaners Operations Manager as to the discovery of a needle in a cup on the bedside table in bedroom 2 of Apartment 7 in the Games Village assigned to CGA India and occupied by Rakesh Babu - Athlete, Triple Jump, and Irfan Kolothum Thodi - Athlete, Race Walk ("Bedroom 2") is credible," Louise Martin said.

Irfan had finished 13th in the 20km race walk event while 28-year-old Rakesh Babu was set to participate in today's triple jump final after qualifying 12th for the competition.

Babu had however injured himself during the qualifiers on Thursday and was unlikely to compete today.

“In the circumstances: The CGF shall issue a strong reprimand to Vikram Singh Sisodia, Namdev Shirgaonker and Ravinder Chaudhry that they and other persons failed to ensure compliance with the No Needle Policy. The CGF shall advise Vikram Singh Sisodia, Namdev Shirgaonker and Ravinder Chaudhry that any further infractions by any member of the Indian Team of the No Needle Policy could result in the withdrawal of accreditation of the offending person," the statement added.

"They will definitely be punished by the Athletics Federation of India (AFI) as well. It is an embarrassment for us. There will be an inquiry after the Games is over and it will be time-bound. The panel will be appointed after the Games," AFI Secretary C K Valson said after the CGF court stripped them of their accreditation and asked them to leave for India.

Commonwealth Games: Sushil Kumar shines again, clinches gold in 74kg freestyle wrestling

Indian shooter <a href="http://www.wionews.com/sports/heena-sidhu-snaps-cwg-record-picks-gold-in-25m-pistol-129598">Shreyasi Singh won India's </a>first gold at the double-trap event at the Commonwealth Games(CWG) at Gold Coast on Wednesday.

&nbsp;26-year-old Shreyasi shot 96 in the finals to&nbsp;beat Australia's Emma Cox 2 shots to 1 in the shoot-off at Belmont Shooting Centre.&nbsp;The other Indian contender in the field, Varsha Varman finished fourth with 86.

Shreyasi helped India bag its 12th gold medal at the CWG.

The bronze medal went to Scotland's Linda Pearson who shot 87 to finish a point ahead of Varsha, who held the third place for a while.

Shreyasi improved on her silver medal-winning effort at the Glasgow Games four years ago.

India has become the only second country to win gold in the table tennis event in the history of Commonwealth Games. India has bagged seven gold medal in total so far, including three today.

World No. 58 Manika Batra first scored the biggest of her career by humbling world number four and multiple Olympic medallist Feng Tianwei 3-2 before brushing aside 100th-ranked Yihan Zhou 3-0 to engineer a sensational win over the mighty Singapore side.

While Batra was the architect of India's historic win, the experienced pairing of Madhurika Patkar and Mouma Das played the supporting role to perfection by winning the crucial doubles tie 3-1 (11-7 11-6 8-11 11-7) against Zhou and Mengyu Yu for a 2-1 lead in the final.

After Batra stunned Feng 3-2 (11-8 8-11 7-11 11-9 11-7) in the opening singles, Mengyu had equalised for Singapore with a straight game win over Patkar.

Batra then proved to be too good for Yihan, who failed to read her deceptive strokes. The Singaporean put a backhand long as the Indian completed a 3-0 (11-7 11-4 11-7), leading to wild celebrations.

Indian women's table tennis team outplayed four-time defending champions Singapore 3-1 to clinch the gold medal at the 21st Commonwealth Games on Sunday. India has become the only second country to win gold in the table tennis event in the history of Commonwealth Games. India has bagged seven gold medal in total so far, including three today. World No. 58 Manika Batra first scored the biggest of her career by humbling world number four and multiple Olympic medallist Feng Tianwei 3-2 before brushing aside 100th-ranked Yihan Zhou 3-0 to engineer a sensational win over the mighty Singapore side. While Batra was the architect of India's historic win, the experienced pairing of Madhurika Patkar and Mouma Das played the supporting role to perfection by winning the crucial doubles tie 3-1 (11-7 11-6 8-11 11-7) against Zhou and Mengyu Yu for a 2-1 lead in the final. After Batra stunned Feng 3-2 (11-8 8-11 7-11 11-9 11-7) in the opening singles, Mengyu had equalised for Singapore with a straight game win over Patkar. CWG 2018: Indian women's TT team grabs gold after historic victory against Singapore

After losing the first game against Wales, Indian women's hockey team is back on track as they have thrashed team Malaysia by 4-1 in the second Pool A match on Friday at 21st Commonwealth Games.

Indian defender Gurjit Kaur converted two penalty corners (6th and 39th minute) to inspire the team to such a crucial victory also skipper Rani Rampal and Lalremsiami's scored the other two goals in the 56th and 59th minute respectively to solidify the win.

The Indian captain said, "It's quite a good result, in the second half we did much better. Malaysia played well in the first and second quarters and didn't give us much space."

She mentioned about the yesterday's loss to Wales and said, "Yesterday (Thursday 5 April) was quite a bad day, but in sport sometimes you lose and we now have to bounce back. Today our defensive structure was good and we played a controlled game."

Malaysian captain Siti Ruhani said that the team is guilt for giving away too many chances. While interacting with media she said, "This game was a close competitive match except for the last quarter. We gave them too many chances to score."

Commonwealth Games: Indian women bounce back, defeat Malaysia in 2nd hockey match

Weightlifter P Gururaja claimed the first medal for India at the 21st Commonwealth Games(CWG) winning the silver medal in the 56 kg category.

The 25-year-old Indian Air Force employee finished behind Malaysia's three-time Commonwealth Championships medallist Muhammad Izhar Ahmed who broke the CWG record.

The third position was taken by Sri Lanka's Lakmal Chaturanga.

Gururaja was third after the&nbsp;snatch but&nbsp;pulled off his best lifting 111kg after two good lifts before surviving a few nervous moments in the clean and jerk.

The Indian weightlifter failed in his first two attempts before managing a good lift off his last chance to finish second and claim the silver medal.

Few days ahead of the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games opening ceremony, two-time Olympic medalist Sushil Kumar's name is surprisingly missing from the list of entry released by the tournament organisers on the official website.

The official list of entries for the men's freestyle 74kg wrestling category, uploaded on the CWG 2018 website does not mention the name of Sushil among other 15 wrestlers participating in the event.

Reflecting on the same, Indian Olympic Association (IOA) Secretary General Rajeev Mehta told that it is a fault of the organising committee and that they are rectifying the error.

When quizzed if Sushil has pulled out his name from the tournament, Mehta denied the same before clarifying that the IOA and Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) are not at all at fault.

Wrestler Sushil Kumar's name missing from Common Wealth Games 2018 entry list

The 2022 Commonwealth Games will no longer take place in Durban, South Africa, the BBC and other British media reported Monday.

South Africa sports minister Fikile Mbalula indicated that the government might withdraw its financial support because of the cost of staging the multi-sport event.

Durban was named as the 2022 Games host in September 2015 but Mbalula told a news conference in Cape Town in February that the South African government and the organising Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) had still to reach an agreement over costs.
