Several people are feared to be trapped after a tunnel collapsed in India's Uttarakhand. Part of the tunnel under construction from the Silkyara to Dandalgaon collapsed in Uttarkashi. The District Magistrate and the Superintendent of police of Uttarkashi District along with Uttarakhand's State Disaster Response force and police rescue teams are present at the spot. Rescue operations are currently underway as confirmed by the Chief Minister who also reacted to the incident.

<p>Reports citing authorities indicated there is a necessity to clear about 200 metres of the slab for the tunnel's reopening and rescue of the trapped workers inside it.</p>

It is part of the Char Dham Road Project, the foundation stone of which was laid by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2016. Speaking to CNN, the author of the study and a glaciologist at the Grenoble Alpes University in France Romain Millan said, “These glaciers are among the most important of the ice sheet. They are the largest glaciers of Greenland.”<br />
<br />
He stated that the glaciers in Greenland's different parts began to lose mass in the 1980s and 1990s, and so far those present in northern Greenland “have remained relatively stable.” As per the study, this, however, does not appear to be the case any longer.</p>

<p>According to local media reports, the West Coast path has been cordoned off after the cliff rangers were alerted to the collapse late on Tuesday and people are now being asked to use alternative routes when walking in the area.</p>

<p>The incident comes months after another large fall happened in the same area of the Jurassic Coast back in May. “Solent coastguard have made us aware of this landslip. West Bay coastguard have cordoned off the area. Our rangers will check the area, make sure there are signs warning people of the dangers and checking the coast path,” said a Dorset Council spokesman.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He added, “The Jurassic Coast is a wonderful place to visit but it’s important to use common sense and caution - stay away from the edge and base of cliffs and always pay attention to warning signs, safety messages and the tides.”&nbsp;<br />

Four killed as heavy rains, flood trigger dam collapse in Yemen

<p>Saudi National Bank's chairman Ammar al-Khudairy resigned days after the Credit Suisse buyout which took place earlier this month, as per the statement released by the Saudi stock exchange.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, Swiss financial regulator FINMA stated that managers of Credit Suisse may face disciplinary action after the second largest bank in Switzerland was rescued by UBS last week.</p>

<p>Speaking to Swiss newspaper NZZ am Sonntag, FINMA President Marlene Amstad said that it was "still open" whether they will start new proceedings, however, the main focus of the regulator was on "the transitional phase of integration" and "preserving financial stability".</p>

<p>Six public "enforcement proceedings" have been conducted by FINMA against Credit Suisse in recent years, said Amstad. "We have intervened and used our strongest instruments," she added.</p>

<p>Amstad further defended the decision of Switzerland to write down Credit Suisse Additional Tier 1 (AT1) debt's 16 billion Swiss francs to zero which was part of the forced rescue merger.</p>

<p>"The AT1 instruments contractually provide that they will be fully written off in the event of a trigger event, in particular the granting of extraordinary government support," said Amstad.</p>

<p>"The bonds were created precisely for such situations,” she added.</p>

During a hearing before Miami-Dade Circuit Court Judge Michael Hanzman, the USD 997 million settlement was announced by attorney Harley S Tropin. In last June, the collapse had occurred. In the case, an USD 83 million settlement was also approved by the judge earlier. It was done to compensate people, who suffered losses of personal property. On June 24 morning, the 12-storey Champlain Towers South condominium had come down abruptly. Weeks were spent in digging out survivors or bodies carefully. In the incident, a total of 98 people were killed.
