<p>While the Volt Typhoon campaign initially came to light in May 2023, the hackers expanded the scope of their operations late last year and changed some of their techniques, according to three people familiar with the matter.</p>

<p>The widespread nature of the hacks led to a series of meetings between the White House and private technology industry, including several telecommunications and cloud commuting companies, where the US government asked for assistance in tracking the activity.</p>

<p>Such breaches could enable China, national security experts said, to remotely disrupt important facilities in the Indo-Pacific region that in some form support or service US military operations. Sources said US officials are concerned the hackers were working to hurt US readiness in case of a Chinese invasion of Taiwan.</p>

In the data's further analysis, it was found that the situation of gender discrimination is worst in the provincial bureaus of central government agencies, like the People’s Bank of China or the Ministry of Railways, where more than 40 per cent of the job opportunities have gender preferences.</p>

<p>The video of the incident was shared on Hoeden's Facebook page. It was later also posted by a TikTok user and an alternative news site called Wake Up Singapore.</p>

<p>In the contentious video, the driver, who is of Chinese descent, repeatedly asserted that Hoeden's daughter was under the height requirement of 1.35 meters.</p>

<p>"As he was verbally abusive, I was afraid that he would start getting physical with me, so I told her to record," Hoeden reportedly said, adding, "Whether I was tanned skin, or Indian, or otherwise, it's unacceptable what he said - it was totally uncalled for, that he pulled out the race card."&nbsp;</p>

<p>The traumatic incident left both Hoeden and her child shaken.</p>

<p>TADA&nbsp;Singapore, the ride-hailing platform used for the trip, responded to the incident, stating that they do not tolerate racism, discrimination, or abuse.</p>

<p>The company initiated an internal investigation into the matter and stressed its commitment to addressing the issue promptly and fairly.&nbsp;A Tada spokeswoman reiterated that comments or remarks that suggest racial differences directly violate their community guidelines and do not reflect the company's values.</p>

<p>A short video series has reportedly gone viral on Chinese version of TikTok. The series, titled 'Escape from The British Museum' shows journey of a Chinese artefact back to China. This has added to general clamour about demands from various countries that British Museum should return cultural relics taken forcibly during the times of the British Empire.</p>

<p>The video series shows a jade teapot from the British Museum assuming a human form. It then tries to escape the museum and return to China with the help of a Chinese journalist it meets on the streets of London.</p>

<p>The teapot is a real artefact stored in the British Museum. It is however, not exactly a cultural relic. It was made in 2011 by a Chinese artist who is an expert in intricate jade carvings.</p>

<p>Although it is not a cultual relic going back centuries, the delicate technique to make the carvings is an artform unique to China.</p>

<p>The video series was first released on Douyin, China's version of TikTok. It has reportedly been played 270 million times. The creators of the videos claim to be independent video makers. Their following has substantially increased. Within a week, the number of their followers spiked by five million.</p>

<p>Chinese state media has reacted positively to the video series.</p>

<p>State broadcaster CCTV appeared to praise the videos and the creators.</p>

<p>"We are very pleased to see Chinese young people are passionate about history and tradition… We are also looking forward to the early return of Chinese artefacts that have been displaced overseas," CCTV said as quoted in a&nbsp;BBC report.</p>

<p>The artefacts in the British Museum have long been a matter of debate. The museum has about eight million objects in its collection.</p>

<p>Britain's colonial past has often raised questions on how majority of these artefacts were obtained, whether previous owner explicitly and of their free will consented to donating these artefacts is something that gets debated regularly.</p>

This has added to general clamour about demands from various countries that British Museum should return cultural relics taken forcibly during the times of the British Empire. The video series shows a jade teapot from the British Museum assuming a human form. It then tries to escape the museum and return to China with the help of a Chinese journalist it meets on the streets of London. The teapot is a real artefact stored in the British Museum. It is however, not exactly a cultural relic. It was made in 2011 by a Chinese artist who is an expert in intricate jade carvings. Although it is not a cultual relic going back centuries, the delicate technique to make the carvings is an artform unique to China. The creators of the videos claim to be independent video makers. Their following has substantially increased. Within a week, the number of their followers spiked by five million. Chinese state media has reacted positively to the video series. State broadcaster CCTV appeared to praise the videos and the creators. "We are very pleased to see Chinese young people are passionate about history and tradition… We are also looking forward to the early return of Chinese artefacts that have been displaced overseas," CCTV said as quoted in a BBC report. The artefacts in the British Museum have long been a matter of debate. The museum has about eight million objects in its collection. Britain's colonial past has often raised questions on how majority of these artefacts were obtained, whether previous owner explicitly and of their free will consented to donating these artefacts is something that gets debated regularly. <p>The group seeks greater autonomy or independence for Balochistan, which is rich in natural resources but has experienced socio-economic disparities and political tensions with the central government of Pakistan.</p>

<p>This is not the first time the BLA has targeted projects associated with CPEC. The BLA has been known to carry out attacks against various targets, including infrastructure projects associated with CPEC.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Pakistani senator Sarfraz Bugti expressed strong condemnation of the incident. He also commended the security forces for repulsing the attack and eliminating the assailants.</p>

<p>"I strongly condemn the heinous terror attack on Chinese workers convoy in Gwadar. Thankfully, no loss of life happened, but there are reports that the ambush has been repulsed, and the attackers have been killed," Pakistani senator Sarfraz Bugti posted on X.</p>

<p>"The ruptures within the militants' fold are getting wider by the day as our armed forces are courageously thwarting their nefarious designs. There is no reprieve for anyone who casts an evil eye on Pakistan," Mr Bugti said.</p>

<h2><strong>Past attacks&nbsp;</strong></h2>

<p>Baloch separatists have previously claimed responsibility for various attacks. These incidents include a suicide bombing in which three Chinese academics and their Pakistani driver lost their lives when a woman suicide bomber detonated her device.&nbsp;</p>
