Barclay was appointed as the Independent ICC Chair in November 2020, before being re-elected in 2022," the ICC stated in a media release.</p>

<p>“Current directors are now required to put forward nominations for the next Chair by 27 August 2024 and if there is more than one candidate, an election will be held with the term of the new Chair commencing on 1 December 2024.”</p>

<p>"Shami should be ready for the South Africa series. He is not at the NCA yet but will go there soon. We are confident he will recover in time," Shah said. The BCCI previously had said that the pacer is "currently undergoing medical treatment and his availability is subject to fitness,” Shah added on the pacer.</p>

The decision on the change in venue for this year’s Asia Cup will be taken in ACC's next meeting in March.</p>

<p>In September last year, Pakistan was allotted the hosting rights of 2023 Asia Cup but after Jay Shah got&nbsp;appointed as the new Asian Cricket Council (ACC) head, he in October said, India will not travel to Pakistan owing to political tensions between both countries. Shah, who is also Asian Cricket Council's (ACC) chief, revealed that the 2023 Asia Cup won't be held in Pakistan as India won't travel to their neighbouring country.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"The Asia Cup 2023 will be held at a neutral venue. I am saying this as ACC President. We [India] can't go there [to Pakistan], they can't come here. In the past also, Asia Cup has been played at a neutral venue," Shah told the media.</p>

<p>The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah's term as president of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) was on Saturday unanimously extended by a year -- till the 2024 AGM.</p>

<p>The decision was taken at the ACC AGM in Colombo.</p>

<p>Shah had taken over the reins of the ACC in January last year from Nazmul Hassan, president, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), making him the youngest administrator to be re-appointed as the ACC president.</p>
