A former US Army sniper has claimed that American special operations troops killed three reptilian-looking beings during a secret mission near Area 51 and that one US soldier was allegedly killed in the battle, and his body was burnt immediately after. According to the account, officials then floated a training accident as a cover story for the serviceman's death.Nick Betts, ex-US sniper and co-host of the 'Liberty Risk' podcast, as per a Daily Mail report, claimed that an unnamed member of the US military's Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) told him about the alleged encounter at an underground facility in Nevada. Betts was not present during the operation, and the claims have not been independently verified. The source allegedly told Betts that a team was sent to the facility after regular radio checks stopped and another quick-reaction force failed to return. The soldiers were reportedly issued directed-energy weapons, instead of the normal guns with bullets, before entering a network of underground tunnels. Also read | AI decodes Napoleon-era secret letter unsolved for more than 200 years. Multiple small earthquakes have been reported at the 'Area 51' US Air Force base in Nevada between April 29 and April 30, sparking rumours of possible tests by the Trump administration amid conflict with Iran. The reports cited seismic activity in the region, and reported that at least 17 earthquakes, mostly around 4.4 magnitude, occured in just 24 tot 48 hours. This prompted conspiracy market to go wild with some even hinting that the US might be testing nuclear weapons. This comes at the backdrop of reports claiming that US President Donald Trump is being briefed about military options in Iran amid stalled ceasefire talks and blockade of Strait of Hormuz. Incidentally, it also comes ‌after Trump said that his administration will be releasing as much information as possible on ‌UFOs in the near future. Also Read: US testing nuclear bombs amid Iran war? Massive black smoke near Area 51 causes panic: Here's what's REALLY happening
What is Area 51?
Area 51 is a remote US Air Force facility located within the Nevada Test and Training Range. Officially acknowledged by the US government only in 2013, the site has been at the center of decades-long speculation due to the highly classified nature of its operations. Originally developed during the Cold War, Area 51 was used for testing cutting-edge military aircraft, including the U-2 spy plane, the SR-71 Blackbird, and the F-117 Nighthawk stealth fighter. These aircraft often flew at altitudes and speeds far beyond what was publicly known at the time, leading civilians to report unidentified flying objects (UFOs) in the skies. Its secrecy, restricted airspace, and lack of public access have fueled countless theories suggesting the base houses captured alien spacecraft, extraterrestrial life, or advanced technology reverse-engineered from alien sources. In 2019, the base drew viral attention when over 500,000 people RSVP’d to a Facebook event called “Storm Area 51: They Can't Stop All of Us.” While meant as a joke, it drew thousands of curious onlookers to nearby towns, forcing authorities to bolster security around the base. Though no concrete evidence of alien activity has ever been presented, Area 51 remains a symbol of government secrecy.

A cluster of small earthquakes near Area 51 in Nevada has triggered speculation online, with some linking the tremors to secret military or nuclear tests, though the site is historically known for aircraft testing and not confirmed for such activities.

'Nuclear test' or 'UFO'? Earthquakes rock Area 51 amid US-Iran war: What's happening

In a major shift for government transparency, US President Donald Trump has promised that a ‘Great Disclosure’ is imminent. Speaking at a Turning Point USA event in Phoenix, Arizona, on Friday (Apr 17), the President made a shocking announcement, saying that the Pentagon will begin releasing highly classified files on Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAPs) and UFOs “very, very soon,” a disclosure he said he had been saving specifically for this audience. Trump revealed that he had instructed Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to begin the declassification process. "I thought I'd save it for this crowd, because you're a little bit out there," he joked. Also read | 'Fake Jesus!': Iran turns Trump's deleted AI-image into a viral LEGO diss track amid Pope row | In pics
UFO files incoming
Speaking to a crowd of young conservative voters, Trump revealed that the US government was in possession of "many very interesting documents". The request followed September hearings where whistleblowers testified that the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office, a Pentagon division, possessed video records of UAP encounters. The footage reportedly includes sightings of cigar-shaped and spherical objects, UAP formations near Iran and Syria, incidents near US military bases and airports, and a 2023 shootdown over Lake Huron. One file allegedly shows UFOs in formation over the Persian Gulf."The lack of disclosure regarding the very real threat posed by UAPs in and around US restricted airspace is concerning," the congressional letter stated, adding that their presence near sensitive military installations posed security and readiness risks.
Obama confirms aliens exist
Around the same time, former US president Barack Obama also sparked speculation when, during a podcast, he confirmed that UAP files exist, but stopped short of confirming alien life. "They're real, but I haven't seen them," he said, adding that there was no underground facility holding aliens, "unless there's this enormous conspiracy and they hid it from the president."
