"Like this project which faced many hurdles before seeing the light of the day, other projects will be undertaken by the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government to ensure development of the state," he said.

Aaditya, son of chief minister Uddhav Thackeray, further said the 'Samruddhi Mahamarg' or Mumbai-Nagpur expressway project is likely to be completed next year.

"Every month we take stock of various projects, like MTHL (Trans-Harbour Link), Coastal Road, Worli-Sewree connector etc," he said.

Kalyan MP Shrikant Shinde said the Patripul ROB would open for traffic after 30 days.

"This ROB is a New Year gift for citizens of Kalyan- Dombivli," he added.

Former Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday said that no BJP leader "directly or indirectly" took state minister Aaditya Thackeray's name in connection with Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death case.

Talking to reporters here on the sidelines of the inauguration of a COVID-19 hosptial at Baner here, Fadnavis said that surprising revelations are coming up in the case.

Rajput was found hanging at his flat in Mumbai's Bandra on June 14.

The CBI has recently taken over the probe into the case.

"No leader from the BJP has taken the name of Aaditya Thackeray directly or indirectly (in Rajput case). The kind of revelations that are coming up in the case, I think they are surprising," he said.

The Leader of Opposition in the state Assembly wondered why all these revelations did not come to light before the CBI took over the probe.

"After 40 days (of the incident), the CBI took over the investigation. What if evidence were destroyed during these 40 days? I have come to know through media reports that eight hard disks were destroyed," Fadnavis said.

"After seeing these things, a question arises whether Maharashtra police was under any political pressure during the investigation," he said.

"I am sure the CBI will bring the truth out. The only thing is that if the truth was investigated earlier, I think the evidence would not have got destroyed and we would have known the culprit," he said.

Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut had recently alleged a conspiracy to link Yuva Sena president Aaditya Thackeray to the actor's death case.

Although Raut did not take any name, he had said that the Opposition cannot digest the fact that the Sena-led government is in power in the state.

Aaditya, son of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, had himself also clarified that he was nowhere related to the actor's death case, and that he and his family were being targeted for no reason.

Congress leader Sachin Sawant has tweeted a photo of Fadnavis with film producer Sandeep Singh, whose name has cropped in the investigation.

Sawant sought a probe into the "BJP angle" in the case.

When asked about the tweet, Fadnavis said, "Sawant is in the government. Then why did their Mumbai police keep all the suspects away? Why weren't they questioned?" "Why from the first day, it was termed as a suicide?" he asked.

On the photo, Fadnavis said that he might have been present in some programme, where Singh was also there.

"But the same person was a director or producer of a film on Balasaheb Thackeray," he said.

"It shows that Sachin Sawant does not do his homework. He is saying all these things out of frustration," he said.

Talking about the Supreme Court's decision on conducting the final year university exams, the former CM said the petition filed by Yuva Sena and the Maharashtra government has been dismissed.

"The court ruled that without exams, no degrees can be given. The vice chancellors' report to the state government was also in favour of conduct of the exams, but on the Yuva Sena's insistence, Maharashtra state was taking a one-sided decision," he said.

Earlier in the day, the apex court said that states and universities cannot promote students without holding final year exams by September 30.

India also suspended all international and domestic travel, which meant that Muller could not return to his home soon.&nbsp;

The 23-year-footballer then decided to sleep in the departures hall of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai until international flights resumed services.&nbsp;

"People in the airport were very helpful. They gave me food and helped me a lot," Muller said.&nbsp;

He added that his damaged phone was also replaced by one security guard.&nbsp;

Muller also sought help from Ghanaian Consulate in Mumbai but due to the lockdown even they could not lend their hands to him.&nbsp;

His struggles ended in early June when he posted on Twitter about his troubles after being suggested by a security official.&nbsp;

A local journalist came across his tweets and tagged the ruling Shiv Sena party's leader Aaditya Thackeray, who also heads Mumbai District Football Association.&nbsp;

After a few hours, the footballer was taken to a hotel where he was given accommodation until he finds a flight to reach back home.&nbsp;

&nbsp;"I tried to stay strong and motivated ...There are things in life you can never change." said Muller, who wishes to come back to India if his now-expired contract is renewed.&nbsp;

This is Uddhav's first visit to Delhi after assuming the post of Maharashtra Chief Minister.

The Maharashtra government which was formed after days of deliberations between Congress, NCP and Shiv Sena had its cabinet expansion earlier this week.

"I have ordered to stop the work of Aarey metro car shed project today. Metro work will not stop but till next decision, not a single leaf of Aarey will be cut," the Chief Minister said at a press conference earlier in the day.

A massive controversy had erupted in October over the felling of trees for the construction of a metro car shed in Mumbai's Aarey area, which is considered the lungs of the city.

The felling of trees in the area had drawn a wedge between former allies BJP and Shiv Sena, with then chief minister Devendra Fadnavis pushing for the project and the Thackeray-led party coming out in protest of the proposed car shed.

Over 2,185 trees were razed in the area in concurrence with the Bombay High Court's order which had upheld the permission granted to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's (BMC) tree authority to cut down trees to make a metro-car shed.

In pursuance of the widespread protests which erupted after the felling of trees in Mumbai's Aarey colony, the apex court late in October ordered the Maharashtra government not to axe any more trees and maintain the status quo till further orders.&nbsp;

Reports also floated today of union minister Nitin Gadkari taking over as CM post. Gadkari later clarified that he has no intention of becoming the CM of Maharashtra but added that government in Maharashtra will be formed under the leadership of incumbent CM Devendra Fadnavis. Gadkari is also seen as a mediator between BJP and Shiv Sena.&nbsp;

In the 288-member Assembly in Maharashtra, 145 seats are required by any one group to form the government. The Shiv Sena and BJP entered into an alliance during elections in Maharashtra but after the elections got over both parties are locked horn over the post of the CM. On one hand, BJP claims that no 50:50 formula was decided before the elections, while Shiv Sena says that both parties decided to enter into an alliance with an equal tenure of CMs of their respective parties.&nbsp;

He added that while the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) had already cut the trees in Aarey for the proposed metro shed, he was hopeful of getting justice from the Supreme Court.

"The MMRC has already cut the trees, but I believe the Supreme Court will hopefully give us justice," Thackeray said.

The Shiv Sena leader is actively campaigning and rallying ahead of the upcoming Maharashtra elections, in which he is contesting from the Worli seat in Mumbai.

Speaking about what drove him to contest the polls, Thackeray, who has become the first leader from the family of the late Balasaheb Thackeray to directly contest, said, "It is not about me contesting the elections but about creating a Maharashtra which is progressive and going ahead."

"I respect my opponents in a democracy, I am therefore meeting the voters and urging them to vote in my favour ahead of the elections," Thackeray added.
