The report in Hindustan Times also stated that Nidhi told the police about the accident. She explained that Anjali Kumar (the victim)’s leg got stuck in the car and she was dragged along with the vehicle. “The accused said they hit two women on a scooter. We are verifying this.”

The investigation is currently in its preliminary stage and the post mortem report was also not made public. “Prima facie, it appears that they were not known to the accused. The outer district police have got over 400 CCTV footages from different parts of the 14-kilometer stretch the victim was allegedly dragged by the car,” another police officer said according to the Hindustan Times report.

The union territory of Jammu and Kashmir witnessed multiple terror attacks at the beginning of the new year. Six civilians were killed and ten injured in the twin attacks at the Dangri Village of Rajouri district. In an IED blast earlier today, two children were killed while four more were injured at the same location where the terrorists attacked yesterday.&nbsp;

The first attack took place yesterday evening, where terrorists suspected to have infiltrated from across the border entered the Dangri village and indiscriminately fired on the civilians of the area. The firing resulted in the death of four civilians while six were injured in the attack. All the injured are being treated at various hospitals in Rajouri and Jammu.&nbsp;

The Jammu and Kashmir government announced an ex-gratia relief of ₹10 lakh and a government job for the kin of the deceased. ''Ex-gratia of Rs. 10 lakh and a government job would be given to the next of kin of each of those civilians martyred in the dastardly attack. Seriously injured would be given ₹ 1 lakh. Officials have been directed to ensure the best treatment to injured,'' said Lieutenant General of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha.

Political parties in the Union Territory have also condemned the attacks. Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Dr Farooq Abdullah, said that killing innocents is the outcome of hatred being spread in the country and that the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) should find a solution to prevent such incidents.

''The country can never move forward by dividing people, but unity is imperative for progress. It is unfortunate that militancy still exists in Jammu &amp; Kashmir as innocent people are being killed, '' said Dr Farooq Abdullah.

There was an attack in Srinagar yesterday as well. It was reported that a grenade was hurled at the CRPF patrolling party which missed the target, and one civilian was injured in the attack. The terrorists managed to escape from the location after the attack.&nbsp;

We have registered around 3400 people for evacuation, the rest of the people will be covered in the next phase."

Overall, 3 Flights from Karaganda, 2 flights from Nur Sultan, 2 from Almaty will be coming in next week.

Prabhat Kumar thanked "ministry of external affairs, ministry of foreign affairs of Kazakhstan, airport authorities of Karaganda, Almaty, Nur Sultan for supporting the evacuation" and expressed his appreciation for "Indian home &amp; health &amp; civil aviation ministry and Air India specially for making this possible."

Most of the passengers are students with New Delhi requesting for chartered flights to take care of the workers. Several Indian workers are working to build the mega Abu Dhabi plaza in Capital Nur Sultan.&nbsp;

The plaza consists of offices, residential places and once completed will be the tallest building in the whole of Central Asia.

Earlier, Uzbekistan's health ministry had said that the Dok-1 Max syrup contained ethylene glycol,&nbsp;a toxic substance. The ministry said the syrup was administered in doses that were higher than the standard for children, either by their parents who mistook it for an anti-cold remedy or on pharmacists' advice. The victims, most of them between five months and four years old, died of acute renal failure, news agency AFP reported on Thursday.&nbsp;

Uzbekistan cough syrup deaths: WHO says it's in touch with Uzbek authorities

Jammu and Kashmir Police has called the year 2022 a very successful one in&nbsp;anti-terror operations in the Kashmir region. The police informed that 172 terrorists have been killed in over 90 operations in the Kashmir Valley. Among those killed, 42 were foreign terrorists, mostly belonging to Pakistan.&nbsp;

“During the year 2022, total of 93 successful encounters took place in Kashmir in which 172 terrorists, including 42 foreign terrorists, were neutralised. Maximum terrorists neutralised were from Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT)/The Resistant Front (TRF) (108) outfit followed by JeM (35), HM (22), Al-Badr (4) and AGuH (3) outfits,” said Vijay Kumar, ADGP, Kashmir Police.&nbsp;

Kashmir Police has also noted the decline in the number of youths joining the terror outfits in the valley. According to data, there is a decline of around 37 per cent in recruitment in terror organisations. And most of the recently joined terrorists have already been killed in the encounters, said police officials.&nbsp;

“This year, 100 fresh recruitments in&nbsp;terrorist ranks were reported, showing a decline of 37 per cent compared to last year. Maximum (74) joined LeT. Out of total recruitment, 65 terrorists were neutralised in encounters, 17 were arrested, and 18 terrorists are still active,” said Kumar.&nbsp;

Jammu and Kashmir Police also said that the lifespan of the newly recruited terrorists has been brought down drastically as well. Among the 172 local terrorists killed this year, 65 of them were newly recruited and most of them were killed within the first month of joining.&nbsp;

“The life span of newly recruited terrorists declined drastically. Out of total 65 newly recruited terrorists killed this year, 58 (89 per cent) were neutralised within first month of their joining,” added ADGP Kumar.&nbsp;

With the authorities running a major crackdown operation throughout the year, a huge quantity of arms and ammunition have been recovered in various operations across the valley from the terrorists. With the weapons arsenal depleted, the terror outfits are facing a tough time.&nbsp;

“This year huge quantities of weapons (360) were recovered during encounters and modules' busting which include 121 AK series rifles, eight (8)&nbsp;M4 Carbine &amp; 231 pistols. Besides, timely seizure of IEDs, Sticky Bombs and Grenades averted major terror incidents."

Although one of the major challenges for the security forces in the year 2022 was civilian killings. Jammu and Kashmir Police claimed to have killed all the terrorists involved in the civilian killings in the region. Around 29 civilians were killed during various attacks in the Valley.&nbsp;

“During the year, total 29 civilians killed by terrorists include 21 locals (six Hindu including three Kashmiri Pandits and 15 Muslims) and eight (8) from other states. All terrorists involved in these terror crimes have been neutralised except Basit Dar and&nbsp;Adil Wani who will be neutralised soon,” said Vijay Kumar.&nbsp;

Security forces also had to bear losses during the year 2022. Multiple attacks by terrorists were carried out across the Kashmir Valley in which 26 security personnel lost their lives.&nbsp;

“During the year, total 26 security forces personnel including 14 JKP personnel attained martyrdom during terror attacks/encounters. Majority of terrorists involved in these terror crimes have been neutralised,” said Vijay Kumar, ADGP, Kashmir Police.&nbsp;

However, Jammu and Kashmir Police said that there have been major changes in the mindset of the people in the region. They claim that house owners are denying shelter to the terrorists and parents are not feeling proud of their children joining the terror ranks.&nbsp;

"Two remarkable changes observed in society; House owners started denying shelter to terrorists and parents don’t feel proud if their wards join terrorism. Rather they appeal them to return, curse terrorists openly and&nbsp;work with JKP for the return of their wards," said Vijay Kumar, ADGP.

The police informed that 172 terrorists have been killed in over 90 operations in the Kashmir Valley. Among those killed, 42 were foreign terrorists, mostly belonging to Pakistan. “During the year 2022, total of 93 successful encounters took place in Kashmir in which 172 terrorists, including 42 foreign terrorists, were neutralised. Maximum terrorists neutralised were from Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT)/The Resistant Front (TRF) (108) outfit followed by JeM (35), HM (22), Al-Badr (4) and AGuH (3) outfits,” said Vijay Kumar, ADGP, Kashmir Police. Kashmir Police has also noted the decline in the number of youths joining the terror outfits in the valley. According to data, there is a decline of around 37 per cent in recruitment in terror organisations. And most of the recently joined terrorists have already been killed in the encounters, said police officials. “This year, 100 fresh recruitments in terrorist ranks were reported, showing a decline of 37 per cent compared to last year. Maximum (74) joined LeT. Out of total recruitment, 65 terrorists were neutralised in encounters, 17 were arrested, and 18 terrorists are still active,” said Kumar. Among the 172 local terrorists killed this year, 65 of them were newly recruited and most of them were killed within the first month of joining. “The life span of newly recruited terrorists declined drastically. Out of total 65 newly recruited terrorists killed this year, 58 (89 per cent) were neutralised within first month of their joining,” added ADGP Kumar. With the authorities running a major crackdown operation throughout the year, a huge quantity of arms and ammunition have been recovered in various operations across the valley from the terrorists. With the weapons arsenal depleted, the terror outfits are facing a tough time. “This year huge quantities of weapons (360) were recovered during encounters and modules' busting which include 121 AK series rifles, eight (8) M4 Carbine & 231 pistols. Besides, timely seizure of IEDs, Sticky Bombs and Grenades averted major terror incidents." Jammu and Kashmir Police claimed to have killed all the terrorists involved in the civilian killings in the region. Around 29 civilians were killed during various attacks in the Valley. “During the year, total 29 civilians killed by terrorists include 21 locals (six Hindu including three Kashmiri Pandits and 15 Muslims) and eight (8) from other states. All terrorists involved in these terror crimes have been neutralised except Basit Dar and Adil Wani who will be neutralised soon,” said Vijay Kumar. Security forces also had to bear losses during the year 2022. Multiple attacks by terrorists were carried out across the Kashmir Valley in which 26 security personnel lost their lives. “During the year, total 26 security forces personnel including 14 JKP personnel attained martyrdom during terror attacks/encounters. Majority of terrorists involved in these terror crimes have been neutralised,” said Vijay Kumar, ADGP, Kashmir Police. However, Jammu and Kashmir Police said that there have been major changes in the mindset of the people in the region. They claim that house owners are denying shelter to the terrorists and parents are not feeling proud of their children joining the terror ranks. "Two remarkable changes observed in society; House owners started denying shelter to terrorists and parents don’t feel proud if their wards join terrorism. SII has previously provided vaccines to the government in its campaigns. Till now, the SII has provided over 170 crores (1.7 billion) doses of Covishield to the government.&nbsp;

It is believed that Singh has sought to know how to deliver the doses.&nbsp;

The Indian government is on alert and has asked states and Union Territories to be prepared amid a rise in Covid cases in countries including China and South Korea.

The government has increased its surveillance and is genome sequencing Covid positive cases.

It made random Covid testing mandatory on Saturday for two per cent of travellers arriving on each international flight.
