Born in Gunsan, South Korea, Kang Hoon began acting in short films in 2014 before taking on small supporting roles in series like Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung and Meow, the Secret Boy. He gained widespread recognition playing the ambitious royal secretary Hong Doek Ro in the hit historical drama The Red Sleeve, winning Best New Actor at the MBC Drama Awards. Kang Hoon is known for his charming personality on variety shows and famously appearing as the first-ever temporary/guest member on Running Man.
