U-19 World Cup: Meet 18-year-old Shubman Gill, slayer of Pakistan

Shubman Gill is an Indian cricketer who hails from Firozpur, Punjab.

The 18-year-old star batman made his "List A" debut for Punjab in the 2016–17 Vijay Hazare Trophy on February 25th last year.

With a base price of 20 lakh, Shubman attracted bids from Delhi Daredevils before Kolkata Knight Riders acquired him for Rs 1.8 crore.

In the semifinals against Pakistan in the ongoing ICC U-19 World Cup, the Punjab batsman scored an unbeaten 102 in just 97 balls with seven superlative boundaries.

In four matches in the U-19 World Cup, Gill has played crucial knocks for Team India.

He has scored 63 against Australia, unbeaten 90 against Zimbabwe and 86 against Bangladesh in the quarter-final.
