Most Test wickets in a calendar year
Shane Warne was at the peak of his prowess in the year 2005 when he ran through batting line-ups for fun. Warne played 15 Test matches in 2005 and finished with a whopping 96 wickets - the most by any bowler in a calendar year. 17 years later his record is yet to be broken by anyone.
First bowler to reach 700 Test wickets
Shane Warne was the first bowler in the world to complete the milestone of 700 wickets in Test cricket. He is also the second fastest to achieve the feat behind only Muralitharan, who reached the feat in 113 Test matches compared to the Aussie's 144 games.
