After five weeks of fierce battles between the army and the paramilitary, both the factions on Saturday, May 20, agreed to a seven-day truce that began at 9:45 p.m. (GMT) on Monday. The ceasefire is aimed to allow the delivery of aid in the region.

Operation Kaveri
The Indian Air Force also assisted the Sudanese by providing 24,000 kg relief material. PM Modi launched “Operation Kaveri” under which the Indian Air Force brought back the final batch of 47 passengers from Sudan.
