Rio carnival set to make comeback after Covid hiatus

Rio De Janeiro is gearing up to organise the famed carnival for the first time since the pandemic hit Brazil. Enthusiastic revellers mean that the carnival is bound to be a huge spectacle this time. The carnival was cancelled last year as Brazil took a hard hit due to the pandemic.

More than 75 percent of the South American country's 213 million people is now fully vaccinated.
