
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed in US on Wednesday (local time). His photo carrrying umbrella himself generated quite a buzz on Twitter.

PM Modi will take part in United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), meet US President Joe Biden and Quad leaders and have more engagements during his US visit

PM Modi's meet with the Quad leaders will strengthen ties within the four-nation grouping. This is important considering manoeuvres of ever-assertive China. Quad co-operation in naval sphere will be instrumental.

After he arrived in the US, PM Modi had a brief interaction with members of Indian diaspora gatherd on the airport.

"Grateful to the Indian community in Washington DC for the warm welcome. Our diaspora is our strength. It is commendable how the Indian diaspora has distinguished itself across the world", wrote PM Modi on his official Twitter handle.

Despite heavy rains since early in the morning, a significant number of Indian-Americans were gathered at the Andrews Joint Airforce Base to welcome the Prime Minister.

Modi holds a meeting with Cristiano R Amon, President and CEO of Qualcomm in Washington DC, the US.
